Morning ladies!

We hit our 1000 limit on the original thread! That’s 1000 messages of support and advice, celebrating every happy milestone, and being there for uncertainty and bad news too. Thanks @Mseddy for setting up our little cohort :)

Will try to tag the regulars, apologies if I miss anyone. @Custardandcream @nextweek @kikisparks @StayingPositive8 @Bruce2 @CardboardCat @MrsT36 @loulamay @MsNoons17 Argh, my phone is refusing to autocomplete properly - I hope that works.

Wishing everyone heath and happiness - whatever stage of the journey you're on xx

Glad to hear things are progressing @Lepatz!

loulamay · 21/01/2021 13:57

In all seriousness, what am I doing wrong? Has anyone had these kinds of bruises? Did you use ice before injections or anything like that? Blush

kikisparks · 21/01/2021 16:22

@loulamay ouch! I didn’t have bruises like that, I did ice before- what medication is it?

loulamay · 21/01/2021 16:25

It's the Clexane. I did a search on here and lots of people are saying that because it's a blood thinner you do tend to bruise more. I'm just going to have to keep switching sides and some people recommended thighs too. Bugger!

kikisparks · 21/01/2021 17:18

Ah I’ve never taken that, it’s probably just a thing with that drug like you say, hope the bruises fade quickly for you.

Lepatz · 21/01/2021 20:54

Oh wow, that's insane bruising!

I was on arovi which gave me some little bruises - but totally incomparable.

Do you punch the skin, pierce, release the pinch, then inject? Can't think why it would have flared up like that

OP posts:
loulamay · 22/01/2021 09:24

Trying all the tricks! Pinch skin, wipe needle so there's no drips on the end, inject slowly, don't rub spot afterwards! I'll ask my Dr when I see him but having looked online it seems to be par for the course Confused

Mseddy · 23/01/2021 12:57

@loulamay wow they are some bruises!!! I guess at least you know its working as its certainly thinning your blood enough to make a bruise! I think rotating the area is the only way! How are you feeling?

loulamay · 23/01/2021 13:01

@Mseddy trying to be calm and failing Sad Transfer tomorrow at 10am and feeling super apprehensive.

Managed to inject myself the last couple of days in new spots and no big bruises so far!

Lepatz · 23/01/2021 15:19

Ohhh, good luck for tomorrow @loulamay
Hope you have some nice relaxation time planned for after :)

@loulamay good luck for right this second!! Sticky vibes little embaby!

kikisparks · 24/01/2021 10:48

@loulamay good luck! Hope transfer went well!

MsNoons17 · 24/01/2021 11:43

Hope all went well today @loulamay!

loulamay · 24/01/2021 11:47

Ah, thank you all so much! Went really well but I'm glad it's over! The head embryologist was there and said it thawed beautifully. I'm on the sofa now with the dog and decaf tea watching True Crime Grin

Now we wait...

loulamay · 25/01/2021 09:26

Meant to also say that I chatted to my Dr about supplements as I wanted to check that what I was taking was okay. He was his usual wonderfully pragmatic self and said that for the most part, a decent antenatal and extra folate if needed should be enough, but I think he understands that in the IVF world, if you can do anything else to help your situation, you're all over it. He said the Ubiquinol supplements have had some moderate success, but more so for egg quality, and that an omega-3 is fine, plus not so relevant here but in colder countries, Vit D.

I also take starflower oil and a cranberry tablet (have done for years) as well as Magnesium, Vitamin E and B-12. He said all of those were fine.

Just thought I'd share!

loulamay · 29/01/2021 05:36

Just tested on 5dp5dt and it's stark white. Am I out? @Mseddy did you test this day before your bfp on 6dp?

Lepatz · 29/01/2021 18:18

Hey, hi

Oh no - I don't think you're out at 5dp @loulamay . I thought even 6dp was a bit early, though some people get a squinter. Don't give up hope, you're definitely not out!!
How's the tww going otherwise? I swear it's the most stressful part of it.

Thanks for the update on supplements. My current obsession is the time it takes follicles to go from being preantral to antral. 70 days apparently! And the most important time for DHEA and HGH is the first week or so of that. Depending on my period it looks like I'll be at around 65 days when I get to egg collection. So now I'm questioning if I should delay another month to make sure I'm fully 'optimised'. Sigh. Lockdown, work, and ivf do make me crazy.
Or maybe I could delay with norethisterone for an extra week. Does anyone know if it works like that??!

Happy weekend everyone. We've almost made it through January!

@loulamay I don’t think you’re out at all. I only got a super squinter at 6dp5dt using a FRER and FMU.

loulamay · 30/01/2021 06:36

Thank you so much for humouring me @Lepatz and @kikisparks! Means the world. We have a squinter this morning that even OH could see. (Poor OH Grin). Not going to think about it again until tomorrow and then beta hopefully Monday all being well. Happy weekend! Xxx

kikisparks · 30/01/2021 07:25

Oh wow congrats @loulamay that’s amazing! Please update on Monday!

Lepatz · 30/01/2021 10:30

Oh yay, congrats!! Great news :D

OP posts:
kikisparks · 30/01/2021 11:59

I’m not sure about the norethisterone sorry @Lepatz, it’s a tricky one about when to start the cycle. I get IVF making me crazy too though! I’m in for my scan on Tuesday, hoping for a lining over 8mm, been drinking pomegranate juice and raspberry leaf tea.

Lepatz · 30/01/2021 12:09

It's so maddening- we have so little control over so much of this... yet we agonise over every bit of 'control' we get 😂

Oh jeez, I just realised I can use my normal emojis in this app 😂 All this time I thought I had to use the annoying button on the left. I'm actually a techie in my day job too (facepalm)

OP posts:
Lepatz · 30/01/2021 12:13

Sorry @kikisparks - that last was in reply to you. I got emoji distracted! Good luck with the scan. When's your transfer date?!

This is my first private round. Wow the cost of meds is eye watering, I saw that Asda used to do ivf meds at cost price- has anyone fulfilled their prescriptions outside of their clinic??!

OP posts:
loulamay · 30/01/2021 13:03

So sorry @Lepatz I didn't even reply to your message. No idea about the norethisterone I'm afraid so I suppose it would depend on whether you wanted to wait another cycle to make sure you've done everything you can, or just go for it. I think the trouble with that, is if you don't get the results you were expecting, you might always wonder if you 'should' have waited one more month. And frankly IVF makes us crazy enough without adding extra mental stress! Let us know what you decide.

Will be thinking of you on Tuesday @kikisparks! x
