After my disappointing chemical Pregnancy for fet#1 I’m now gearing for fet#2, put my last frostie back, which I think will be just before Christmas making test day at clinic for bloods on around NYE

Starting down reg with buserlin before progynova starts around start of December. Here’s hoping I get a Christmas miracle 🤞🎄

Thanks ladies - only 3 follicles, 2 of which are a bit behind. Next scan is on Monday. I generally try and approach this journey with positivity but today I am feeling a bit deflated! Sad hope you are all doing ok xxx

TTCRose · 29/11/2019 09:56

@Wesstywoo feeling deflated myself...nothing really growing on the right and 2 follicle growing on the left at 15 and 11. They increasing menopur too 300 and a scan on Monday. Nurse spoke about keeping mind open to potentially cancelling cycle 😞
Hope everyone ok x

Wesstywoo · 29/11/2019 10:01

@TTCRose fingers crossed for you on Monday xx just seen your other post, sorry to hear you are feeling ill. I felt a bit off last Friday but have been ok since

cake1987 · 29/11/2019 14:20

Hi @HJF84, well done on the transfer! How did it go, hope you're feeling ok. Mine's medicated, but I completely mucked it up, I was so flustered after they told me that I might have to wait until jan that I ended up mis reading my instructions and did a progesterone pessary instead of the oestrogen tablet. Suuuuuch an idiot! Got so upset and cross with myself, ended up hyperventilating. whoops 😬 My clinic have told me to keep going with the oestrogen and we'll see if things are ok at my scan next Friday.
Have you been told when your test day is? xxx

HJF84 · 29/11/2019 15:45

Oh no @cake1987 that's disappointing, but I bet you're not the first to have done that. Fingers crossed for Friday! They'll be looking for a nice thick lining so hopefully you'll have that and you can get started. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

My test date is Friday, so we'll both be getting news then. My transfer didn't go as well as I'd hoped. I decided to have my day 3 frozen embryo put in at day 5, and they called on the day to say that it hadn't made it to blastocyst stage yet, it was still in morula phase. So it's a slow-developing embryo and I've just got to hope it catches up. I'm off work now until Monday, so I'm watching lots of boxsets and trying to chill. I'm not very good at doing nothing!

WorriedButterfly · 29/11/2019 17:30

Please try and stay positive @Wesstywoo, it is so hard, but you could have three really lovely eggs. 🤞🏼 @TTCRose I suffered with quite bad nausea in my first cycle (I lost quite a lot of weight!) from menopur, I ate crystallised ginger which helped a bit, my clinic suggested anti sickness band for your wrists. I weirdly haven't felt anywhere near as bad this time. I'm booked for EC on Monday 🤞🏼 got to keep going with menopur tonight and tomorrow morning! Then trigger tomorrow evening. X

Wesstywoo · 29/11/2019 17:47

Thanks @WorriedButterfly - I only had 4 last time and somehow got 2 blasts but I'm worried about the 2 that are behind this time. Hopefully they will catch up over the weekend.

Best of luck for Monday! Let us know how you get on xx

TTCRose · 29/11/2019 18:09

@WorriedButterfly thank you! I've been on menopur 4 days now and it hit me overnight. Worried symptoms may get worse as they have increased my dose as not responding much to current dose.

Kitkat369 · 30/11/2019 08:31

Hey ladies so finally aunt flow has arrived though I’ve been having headaches from buserlin since yesterday so been on painkillers, upping the water intake. Have my scan on Monday, hoping they are happy with stim,in from Tuesday. I’ll be on steroids too so it nervous about that

@spacegirl123 thanks hun, Hope the bloating has calmed down now

@Helene2019 welcome, sorry to hear it didn’t work. That’s good break to second round, are you using same clinic? Did they manage to change protocol.

@Westywoo it’s easy to feel deflated but try not to worry too much on follicle front and see how scan goes on Monday. They always talk of quality than quantity

Wesstywoo · 30/11/2019 18:21

Thanks @Kitkat369 - good luck with your scan on Monday xx

spacegirl123 · 01/12/2019 08:48

@Kitkat369 @Wesstywoo @TTCRose good luck with the scans tomorrow, I hope they go well for you.

@WorriedButterfly sending you positive vibes for your EC tomorrow as well! It's all go tomorrow!

My embryo transfer was yesterday, one 'good' blasto put back now I'm sat here talking to it and introducing the dog to her new brother or sister. The three of us are going for a nice walk to the beach soon 😂 I figure 5 rounds in I'm going down the positive visualisation route, see how that works out lol.

I deliberately asked not to know anything about the grade of the blasto this time, as the previous four rounds sent me on anxiety-inducing Google rabbit holes reading about success and failure rates of different grades of blastos. Like, actually reading academic studies and stuff - who has time for that?! What about you guys? Do you prefer to know more or less?

Normally I need to know everything to feel even a little bit in control of all that's going on but I'm stepping back before it all send me insane!

Xx

Junipersher · 01/12/2019 10:06

@spacegirl123 I don’t think Dr Google helps. These studies often don’t conclusively prove anything and aren’t of enough statistical significance or erudite enough to become accepted widely. Interesting though aren’t they Smile I don’t get the sense anything we do, unless it involves shooting up, a skydive gone wrong, cheeserolling or some other crazy stuff, is going to make a difference.

I got five Frosties from a nightmarish ivf cycle in 2018. I did a FET a week and a half ago and find out tomorrow. The progesterone - cyclogest- has made my feel suicidal - rages, crying fits, unable to get out of bed. Nothing is worth this. I would say please anyone with a history of PMDD be really careful with this drug and get advice. I just need this to be over I don’t even care about the IVF outcome anymore Sad

fllinn · 01/12/2019 10:12

@Junipersher
Please see your GP or consultant about your mood? If you get a BFP and need to stay on the progesterone, there are likely different types you can try. I don't know if it's true for progesterone, but many medications have different side effects depending on brand and slightly different components. There are injections available that you might process differently etc. It is worth trying. I unintentionally changed Metformin brand recently and the new one make me physically sick vomiting repeatedly, the other brand doesn't.

HJF84 · 01/12/2019 10:40

@spacegirl123 Welcome back to the TWW. I'm 4dp5dt. Glad to know I'm not the only one reading academic studies! You're right, maybe it's best not to know.

spacegirl123 · 01/12/2019 12:11

@Junipersher totally agree. On good days I was digging out studies that said what I wanted to hear, and on bad days digging out completely contradictory studies on the same subject with doom and gloom news. 🙄

I'm so sorry you are struggling with the progesterone. I agree with the other poster, if you haven't already please make sure you raise this with your GP/clinic so they can try other options as if you're pregnant (🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻) you'll need to continue the progesterone and you need to find something that works for you. Also, if you can and it's available to you, have you considered counselling? My own mental health suffered badly through my first few cycles and I was really depressed (same as you're describing, with rage, suicidal thoughts, thoughts of failure etc) and the counselling really did help me make sense of things.

For what it's worth, you're not alone in this. Often we only hear success stories of IVF and it makes us wonder what we're doing wrong, but statistically IVF fails more than it's successful go go figure 🤷‍♀️ all we can do is have hope xxx

@HJF84 this was an experiment this time asking not to know and I do feel more relaxed this time round so maybe ignorance is bliss (although the tww is hardly bliss lol) 😂

Junipersher · 01/12/2019 12:39

@spacegirl123 and @fllinn thank you for those helpful and really supportive messages . I particularly agree about the success rates of IVF. I had to laugh when they came at me with the turkey baster. Where’s the robotic arm and molecular telescope? It’s probably growing on the surgeon’s sleeve as we speak!

Kitkat369 · 01/12/2019 14:47

@spacegirl123 great news on the vip on board hun. So sweet introducing to dog 🙂, I did that too with both my boy cats. ItDid you do anything straight after the transfer? Good to go for walkies 👍🏼 Too

@HJF84 how’s day 4 going, have you done much during the wait?

@Junipersher sorry to hear you were suffering from the progesterone, is this first time you’ve been on this.

Kitkat369 · 01/12/2019 14:50

Hit send before I finished. So I’ve started listening to ivf meditation again with zita west. Whilst it wasn’t cheap last time I found relaxing so listened to that this morning. Headaches are gone thankfully.

spacegirl123 · 01/12/2019 18:56

@Kitkat369 nothing in particular, we normally do something nice together to celebrate like a meal or cinema, but my husband really wanted to go to a match with his pals. He has been really amazing looking after me so I let him go (he asked! 😂) and I took the dog for a walk, bought some snacks and watched When Harry met Sally. Heaven!

What do you guys do to celebrate a transfer / keep distracted in tww?

@Kitkat369 I've not listened to any IVF specific meditation but I find the Meditation Oasis podcast an absolute lifesaver. Have you guys heard of the podcast Let's Talk Fertility by Izzy Judd? I have the whole thing downloaded but can't bring myself to listen to it, too raw at the min I think.

TTCRose · 01/12/2019 20:58

Thanks @spacegirl123 hope your feeling well after your transfer! 🤞🏻

Fingers crossed to all who have scans tomorrow.
How you feeling @Wesstywoo?
I have no idea what my follicles could be doing? They may consider asking me to cancel if I'm not responding to treatment 😏

Jem01 · 01/12/2019 23:28

Had my ET today. I thought I would be fine to go into work tomorrow but feeling really really tired so going to take it easy and will put my feet up tomorrow (literally!)

How is everyone else doing?

Wesstywoo · 02/12/2019 09:34

@spacegirl123 @Jem01 wishing you a speedy TWW! When are your OTDs?

Good luck today @WorriedButterfly, fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on.

Back from my scan - I have 3 that are at the right size so I will be triggering tonight with EC set for Wednesday. I had hoped for more but they are optimistic about getting 3 so fingers crossed.

@TTCRose how are you doing? Xx

Yorkshirehope · 02/12/2019 10:12

@Jem01 I have my ET today ( one good one made it to Day 5 and they are letting four others have an extra day to see if they make it for freezing) will be in the dreaded TWW with you. My second time ( after a BFN in Sept) hate it but happy to have made it to this stage.

WorriedButterfly · 02/12/2019 10:42

Just back from EC, 5 eggs, keeping everything crossed that they are mature. I only had one follicle last cycle in October, so pleased I got more. Good luck with trigger @Wesstywoo x

Junipersher · 02/12/2019 11:56

Just found out now that my FET was a BFN. I have four Frosties left but I’m not sure I’ve got it in me to go through this again. Maybe will focus on booking a nice holiday . @Yorkshirehope good luck with your second FET . @WorriedButterfly glad you have a better result this time
