After my disappointing chemical Pregnancy for fet#1 I’m now gearing for fet#2, put my last frostie back, which I think will be just before Christmas making test day at clinic for bloods on around NYE

Starting down reg with buserlin before progynova starts around start of December. Here’s hoping I get a Christmas miracle 🤞🎄

Hi 41trying, this is my second fet, the last time was about 7 days till aunt flow came and I can feel odd cramps so thinking next couple days but clinic said if it’s week overdue I need to contact them. When I started the buserlin they said I have to take for at least 2wks as they can be sure ovaries have switched off. I started last Sunday and have baseline scan next Monday then if all of I’ll start slimming with progynova but still be on half the buserlin dose. This is due to my endometriosis.

Do you have your scan booked for after you starting down regging?

@kitkat369, thanks for that. I have to call them on day 21 for scan, which seems so long away lol. I go into tomorrow for injection training as it's a new clinic and different meds.

Kitkat369 · 25/11/2019 20:56

It is a bit like waiting for kettle to boil but it will come around then the jabs and everything else will fingers crossed get to end goal. The injections aren’t too bad, I usually pinch my stomach before injecting, slight sting but you get use to it. Hope the injection training goes well for you tomorrow hun. It can be overwhelming but you become a pro at it 👍🏼

Just started short protocol and took my first Menopur injection. My dose means I use two vials and it comes with 1ml water to mix each vial, but do I need to use the full 2ml of water to mix? Nurse didn't really explain and I've just used the 2ml but took a long time to inject and after the first 1ml wasn't the most comfortable.

Any advice or tips most appreciated!

41trying · 25/11/2019 22:48

@Kitkat369, I have done failed cycles before, injections didnt bother me, just wanted to hear if anyone did down regging long protocol as I only did short natural last time, so no idea really

Wesstywoo · 26/11/2019 06:11

Hi @TTCRose what dose are you on? I'm on menopur too. The box will have 1200 or 600 on it. Mine are 1200 so I have to put 2 waters in one vial and then draw my prescribed daily dose out of that. I think that if the box has 600 on it you put 1 water in the vial and draw your daily dose out of that. What is your daily dose?

Wesstywoo · 26/11/2019 06:12

@TTCRose depending on your dose each vial should last a few days

HJF84 · 26/11/2019 07:19

@TTCRose I'd give your clinic a call this morning. Everyone gets given different doses and it's best to check with your clinic.

TTCRose · 26/11/2019 08:02

Thanks guys...@Wesstywoo I'm on 225 so have a 75 and a 150 vial! Good luck to you all girls! What days are you on?

Maggie272 · 26/11/2019 09:59

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing ok.
Had chemical pregnancy for fresh IVF cycle back in October,
FET was cancelled because I had a follicle growing in spite of the medication I was taking.
This month they have doubled the dose (it's fematab) and I'm going in for a scan on Friday to make sure everything is dormant.
Has anyone had an experience like this? I wonder what they will do if a follicle is growing.
The process is starting to get a bit tiring....
much love
M x

Maggie272 · 26/11/2019 10:00

@Kitkat369 fingers crossed for you! I'm getting you are on buserelin to keep your ovaries quiet...I wonder if that's what they will try with me if this FET has to be cancelled. Did you ever try fematab?
Much love
Mx

hi @Oldandsad ..i know how you feel..I started the ivf last month, 2w before my 45th bday, our only try (wanted to try with my own eggs), was on short protocol, got 16 follicles, 11eggs collected, 10 fertilised, 2 good blasts were put back and i've tested last friday and got a positive result..it's still very early stage and we have a long way to go..but it is possible..wish you all the best

Oldandsad · 26/11/2019 11:02

Hi @fool11, thank you for your kind words. Very happy for you, hope everything goes well, easy pregnancy to you. I've not only age, but also DOR I think, not many follicles at all, so will not fit into conventional protocol, and any natural / modified does not seem to work either. The clinic cannot offer anything different, except little tweaks. Good luck everyone, fingers crossed for you.

fool11 · 26/11/2019 11:28

Thank you @Oldandsad...it obviously depends on individual circumstances, health etc..we only decided to try ivf 4days before my period and then it was all happening very quickly..doctor thought we might get 5-8 egg collected and my body responded better to drugs than expected..you just don't know what will happen..our friends friend who is 45 had only 5eggs collected, 3fertilised only 1embryo and she has now 2m old boy..that gave us hope and that's why we decided to give it a go...we are with ACU Guys in London..all the best x

Yorkshirehope · 26/11/2019 11:32

@Kitkat369 yes, well I asked them to up my Menopur to 450. Seems to have worked. Got everything crossed for tomorrow. @fool11 Congratulations - lovely news x Age is such a scary factor - I'm 40 (nearly 41) and I hear that loud ticking time bomb on a daily basis!

fool11 · 26/11/2019 12:38

thank you @yorkshirehope...i think you are young at 40 :)...i wish i was 40/41..at 45 it's a bit brutal...not many clinics will even consider older women for ivf, over 42, as we would mess up their stats...hope all goes well for you tomorrow!

Jem01 · 26/11/2019 16:29

@ HJF84 any news on the Frosties? Saying that, no news is definitely good news. And yes to 2WW buddies!

@Maggie272 welcome Maggie and good luck for Friday

@fool11 fantastic news! Fingers crossed for you. I’m also with Guys and find them to be a very good clinic on my experience so far

How is everyone else doing? Any more updates?

HJF84 · 26/11/2019 18:35

Welcome @Maggie272, I had follicles growing on this FET cycle but they were small and weren't growing, which is why the cycle continued. I was monitored to make sure they didn't grow. Good luck for this cycle.

@Jem01 The 3 day embryo survived the thaw. They don't check on it today, so hopefully when I go in tomorrow they will tell me it's now a blastocyst 🤞🏼

Kitkat369 · 26/11/2019 19:08

@Maggie272 -I’ve only ever been on buserlin for down regging. How do you find fematab. Fingers crossed for Friday

Maggie272 · 26/11/2019 19:37

Thank you all!
@Kitkat369 I've been on hormones since August, and do feel they are taking their toll...although fematab is much easier to be on than buserelin, which made me very depressed. I'm generally a happy person. Just that the dose of fematab I was on earlier this month didn't stop my follicles from growing, so they have just doubled the dose. We'll see! Hope you are doing well x

Kitkat369 · 26/11/2019 20:06

@Maggie272 - agree with you on the buserlin, it’s definitely affecting my mood, been feeling in a shell that don’t really want to talk to anyone. Did have a moment today when I was ready to scream then realised its the drugs doing that to me so took time out from my desk and got a cuppa. It can be quite lonely this process and the endless waiting till next stage isn’t great.

I also had a chemical from first fet last month. Today I’ve only noticed someone at my work is popping with a precious bump with her second and I felt this pang wishing why it couldn’t have been me that my pregnancy had continued. I had message yesterday from nhs reminding me of my obstetrics appt and that’s despite my contacting them late last month after learning viability scan showed nothing inside me, a chemical. Thought I could quickly move on by cancelling all the ante natal appts I had booked, until I got that appt reminder. Talk about kick in stomach.

Im starting to wonder if at 41 I’ll even get there. My job isn’t great and haven’t been happy but can’t leave for maternity!

Wesstywoo · 27/11/2019 07:42

@TTCRose I'm on day 7 of menopur - zero side effects so I'm wondering if it's doing anything! How are you feeling?

@HJF84 is your ET today? Good luck if so!!!

@Jem01 glad you have a date!

How are you getting on @WorriedButterfly?

TTCRose · 27/11/2019 07:50

@Wesstywoo I'll be day 3 today. Feeling fine. Due another scan on Friday. You? Is this your first cycle?

Wesstywoo · 27/11/2019 08:07

@TTCRose my next scan is Friday too - this is my second fresh cycle xx

HJF84 · 27/11/2019 11:38

Thanks @Wesstywoo - I am now PUPO!

Not exactly the seamless experience it was last time. I had a call from the clinic this morning to say that the day 3 embryo we had thawing hadn't made it to blastocyst stage yet, it was still at morula stage. They wanted to know it we wanted to use our 4CC blasto that we have in the freezer instead. We decided to keep with the morula, and hope that this slow-developing embryo is sticky and makes it to blasto stage 🤞🏼
