After my disappointing chemical Pregnancy for fet#1 I’m now gearing for fet#2, put my last frostie back, which I think will be just before Christmas making test day at clinic for bloods on around NYE

Starting down reg with buserlin before progynova starts around start of December. Here’s hoping I get a Christmas miracle 🤞🎄

@41trying That was different to me. I started to with bemfola on day 2. Did you have a natural cycle, if the plan was to get one egg?

41trying · 15/11/2019 23:04

@HJF84. Yes I did do natural/Mild. As I am 41 they didnt expect loads but I did have about 6 on each side, but he never really said about only collecting one. But as soon as leading one was a size I did trigger.
I am trying another clinic next week to see what they suggest as I couldn't go through it all again just to end up in the same position

Wesstywoo · 16/11/2019 06:39

@41trying a change of protocol might be worth a try if the other 2 have been unsuccessful. I hope your new clinic has sime suggestions for you. I have low AMH so I'm on short protocol - my clinic are putting me on max dose menopur. They have also put me on DHEA this time to try and help with numbers (this should only be taken with consultant advice) and I'm taking ubiquinol to try and help with egg quality (along with pregnacare max).

Hey, no they haven't changed anything up, it's all exactly the same. I read loads about people asking docs to make adjustments but I'd imagine they'd make adjustments if they thought they needed to! Putting my faith in Science 🤞🏻 good luck everyone xxx

Hi,
Hoping it’s ok for me to join this thread, I had egg collection just over a week ago - 31 in total but 16 for me as I was sharing. 13 fertilised and I ended up with 8 frozen, had to do a freeze all due to OHSS risk but luckily I’ve been fine.
I think FET will be in December. Hoping it will be anyway they said they need to see how my body has settled down.

Kitkat369 · 16/11/2019 10:34

Hi Prettylittlelady-welcome, that’s great 8 are in the freezer, are you going to down reg before stim for transfer?

@HJF84 that's reassuring they have been good, fingers crossed for the FET. What happened with the first two cycles? Was it just the 3rd that resulted in transferable blastocysts?
Also I don't suppose you know if they do egg retrieval/transfers on the weekends or so they delay trigger for the working week?!

@41trying it sounds like they put you on natural IVF rather than mild, if they only hoped to get one egg? I know they hope for several from me, to freeze some in case a fresh transfer fails. How are you feeling now?

Did either of you have an opinion on whether they were overly optimistic or pessimistic? The doctor told me she was confident I'd only need the one cycle not 3, that if the first transfer didn't work then she was sure a second would. I wondered how you could ever get a sense of that, I was disconcerted!

fllinn · 16/11/2019 19:09

Quick question - after the injection is it normal for a little bit to ooze out or appear at the injection site?

Wesstywoo · 16/11/2019 19:31

@fllinn yes quite normal - nothing to worry about!

fllinn · 16/11/2019 19:35

@Wesstywoo phew! Thank you!

41trying · 16/11/2019 19:41

@fllinn, maybe that was but unfortunately they didnt explain that to me.
Also create would do EC and transfer on weekend if that how it fell, which I know some clinics dont

HJF84 · 16/11/2019 19:44

@fllinn the first two cycles resulted in two blastos, one of which I am using for this FET. I still have a blasto from my third cycle two as I had two from that cycle. The idea behind the three cycle package is that you get all your eggs done in three cycles. I'm 35 so I wanted to make sure we got as many of my 'young as they'll ever be' eggs!

I had one of my egg collections on a Saturday at St Paul's, but my transfer was on a Tuesday. I'm sure they would at St Paul's as it's central London, is that your clinic?

fllinn · 16/11/2019 22:40

@41trying thanks that's good to know.

@HJF84 I didn't realise that was why 3 cycles! I thought it was a deal to make it cheaper so you get 3 attempts. Is the idea to freeze as many as you can?

fllinn · 16/11/2019 22:41

@HJF84 sorry I know you already actually said that I was processing it 'out loud' lol

41trying · 16/11/2019 22:58

@HJF84 can I ask how many eggs were collected each time?

FingersXssd83 · 17/11/2019 07:06

Been on buserelin 12 days and AF has arrived with vengeance this morning (in so much pain!). Haven't felt many side effects down regging for the first time, thankfully. My down reg scan is on Tuesday so really hoping my body has done its thing!

Wesstywoo · 17/11/2019 07:50

@FingersXssd83 oh no poor you, plenty of rest and a hot water bottle today! I've finished nothisterone and am impatiently awaiting the arrival of AF - needs to be before Thur as I have my baseline scan 🤞

fllinn · 17/11/2019 15:16

Question to all - do you cut out sugar or carbs? To manage insulin etc.

Helene2019 · 18/11/2019 00:13

Hi ladies just joining the thread. Had first cycle back in May with just one blastocyst making it to FET - sadly didn't take and no frosties either. Started my second cycle currently on buserelin (am an injection pro now compared to my first cycle!). 6 month wait in between as I have to get egg retrieval done in theatre at the hospital rather than at our fertility clinic. I have to say this time the buserelin has made me constantly hungry.

WorriedButterfly · 18/11/2019 07:55

Hi everyone, hoping to join too! For some reason my clinic cut out norethisterone this cycle and I got AF early last night. Third cycle, 1st was a MMC in May at 7wks & my 2nd was a disaster with not responding well and only one egg retrieved- that was immature. Wishing everyone luck! X

Jem01 · 18/11/2019 08:08

Hello to everyone joining the thread! How is everyone doing today?
The oestrogen tablets I’m on are awful, I’m breaking out in spots, bloated and feeling very hormonal. I don’t remember feeling like this last time but it’s having a horrible effect on me. Anyway enough of my whinging Smile @Wesstywoo Good luck for your scan on Thursday. Is anyone having else having scans this week?

41trying · 18/11/2019 16:23

@worriedbutterly. I had same as immature egg last cycle. Did they give any reasons behind it?

41trying · 18/11/2019 17:04

@jem01, I am having scan Wed to see if all is well to start

WorriedButterfly · 18/11/2019 17:16

Hi @Jem01 thanks for the welcome. BL scan booked for Wednesday, fingers crossed we can start.

@41trying - no, I stimmed on highest dose for 14 days which I wonder whether it was that - it felt like a lifetime. They said it could be a number of reasons. When are you starting again?

41trying · 18/11/2019 17:22

@worriedButterfly. It's a pain when you dont have answers isn't it.
Consultation is Wed, so hoping to start then
