Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

@squirrelnutkins1 not sure about the spotting 🤔 I'd automatically think implantation with pink spotting, but obviously too early for that, so no clue! Xx

squirrelnutkins1 · 07/07/2019 23:05

Bit of an odd one isn't it! Here's hoping it's working anyway! @Kelly199 @doomkittycleo xx

Tealismycolour · 08/07/2019 08:13

@Dinosauraddict Thanks! I’ll wait a few days more then. Good job I don’t have any tests at home to tempt me!

Kelly199 · 08/07/2019 08:34

@squirrelnutkins1 hopefully. Positive thoughts 😘
Xx

CD 13 for me, suffering from the worst nausea, work is a struggle! I hope this passes by this evening because I think I'll be face planting into my bed rather than wanting to DTD.

Marmite83 · 08/07/2019 09:26

@squirrelnutkins1 I had quite a lot of spotting this cycle (my first cycle on 100mg). It was mainly the day after we had BD, and once after an internal scan, but I didn't think much of it TBH as it's something I generally experience anyway. Haven't had anymore since I ovulated but I'm taking progesterone pessaries so that could be why.

Pinktruffle · 08/07/2019 11:51

I've had my progesterone results come through the post, my 21 day test showed 145.4 nmol/L. It says that anything above 29.9 nmol/L indicates ovulation. So I googled it and normal is between 29.9 and 90.9 so mine seems very high, does anyone know what that might mean? Is it elevated because of the Letrozole?

squirrelnutkins1 · 08/07/2019 13:14

@Pinktruffle maybe you released two eggs this month?

@lori2019 hope you're feeling better!

@Marmite83 I've had some brown spotting today. Who knows what's going on lol. Can I ask why you're taking the pessaries? Are you private or nhs? I'm just a bit concerned as I've read a few on the pessaries and some having trigger shots. I've not heard anything about that for me.

@Kelly199 thanks hun xx

How is everyone today? Xx

doomkittycleo · 08/07/2019 13:27

Ugh, I’m not sure about that @Pinktruffle. I asked a similar question ages ago and never got a clear answer.

I managed to persuade my nhs consultant to do the AMH test, then have just almost fainted 🙈 whilst having it done. I had DD with me too, so even worse.

My 18mm follicle was Friday and I still haven’t had a positive opk. Has anyone else used opks after a follicle scan? How many days till you got your first positive opk?

Marmite83 · 08/07/2019 13:46

@squirrelnutkins1, I am due to start my first ever IVF cycle in a couple of weeks so the pessaries are so we can predict better when my af will arrive. They can be beneficial in a Clomid cycle because they should help improve the womb lining, which can sometimes be thinned by Clomid, but that's not primarily why I'm taking them. Can't hurt though! I'm not eligible for IVF on the NHS so I'm paying for the pessaries. I very much doubt my NHS consultant would give them to me on the NHS though. All I got through NHS was a 21 day progesterone blood test in Clomid cycle 1.

Marmite83 · 08/07/2019 13:48

No idea I'm afraid @Pinktruffle, hopefully it's a good sign.

@doomkittycleo, hope you're ok. it's such a horrible feeling when you think you're going to faint. Hopefully the result will make it all worthwhile.

Jesskir89 · 08/07/2019 16:43

@Pinktruffle that's brilliant. On my 3rd blood test after being on 100mg mine was 89 and my consultant was over the moon and very optimistic at that

squirrelnutkins1 · 08/07/2019 17:33

The month we conceived I had my levels checked on day 20 and 26 I think it was and on day 20 my levels were 50 something and day 26 they were 140 something so the nurse said I'd likely released two eggs @Pinktruffle

@Marmite83 ah I see, I didn't realise you were about to start IVF. we're just at the try Letrazole on it's own and see stage xx

seven201 · 08/07/2019 19:28

@Pinktruffle I think that sort of results indicated you released two or three eggs.

seven201 · 08/07/2019 19:35

I'm cd12 and just back from my private follicle tracking scan. It's my first cycle on tamoxifen after clomid was thinning my womb lining.

It didn't go well. I have polyscstic ovaries (this hasn't been confirmed until now) and it looks like I have 6-10 eggs preparing. I'm going for another scan on Friday evening. He said the meds are working too well and maybe I should do ivf (which we'll have to pay for) I then mentioned I'm seeing him in 2 weeks as an nhs patient to arrange/get on the waiting list for a laparoscopy to unblock one of my Fallopian tubes he said "oh well maybe I could do some ovarian drilling whilst I'm there. That might work". I'm so pissed off and confused. Every single appointment throws up a new issue it seems! I'll just have to wait and see how Friday goes I guess. He's told me not to have unprotected sex this month due to the risk of multiples. Sad anyone know anything about polycystic ovaries or ovarian drilling?

doomkittycleo · 08/07/2019 20:03

@seven201 that’s awful I’m so sorry your appointment didn’t go well. Did he not give you any information about ovarian drilling and what it involves? If not maybe you could ring his secretary tomorrow and ask if they can email anything to you.

I’m not that clued up on PCOS, but I know they sometimes give you Metformin (a diabetes drug) as it can help. Also I know inofolic is often recommended for PCOS too (it’s a bit pricey though).

Jesskir89 · 08/07/2019 20:10

@seven201 I also have pcos and I'm on metformin. I ovulate on 100mg so they may up your dosage

seven201 · 08/07/2019 20:12

Thanks @doomkittycleo I didn't know about the inofolic and just read about metaformin on the nhs website. I think I'll go on Friday with a list of questions. He's always very vague, which is a bit infuriating. I always feel at any doctor appointment that I should be as quick as possible, but I need to remember I'm paying to see this man, so shouldn't be so ridiculous!

seven201 · 08/07/2019 20:15

@Jesskir89 I did ovulate on clomid, on first cycle I released 3-4 eggs (21 day blood test), cycle two dose was reduced and I had a tracking scan that showed I was preparing to release two eggs but it had thinned my womb lining a lot.

So I was put on a low 40mg of tamoxifen (a cancer drug) this time as it doesn't affect womb lining. It looks like it's working but too well. So I think he doesn't want me to take any drugs for ovulation. I'll ask him about metaformin on Friday though.

seven201 · 08/07/2019 20:16

And thank you for the reply x

Pinktruffle · 08/07/2019 20:39

Tha ms for the info guys, I will assume it's a multiple ovulation..... and I still didnt fall pregnant that month 😪 Getting pregnant really does seem to be an impossible achievement

Jesskir89 · 08/07/2019 20:54

@seven201 ask him about prescribing a high dose of folic acid too. And @pinktruffle I feel you, I've had 5 cycles on chlomid currently CD 23 and not hopeful for this one either :( x

seven201 · 08/07/2019 21:19

Thanks @Jesskir89 I will!

@Pinktruffle I felt the same after I had a result of 290. Don't give up hope yet.

Jesskir89 · 08/07/2019 21:22
