Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

Thanks @Dinosauraddict got my fingers crossed for you. I'm very impressed you haven't test at 14dpo!

That's great news @doomkittycleo. I know what you mean about BD. It's all so forced and scheduled now, such a chore.

I said I wasn't going to drink this cycle but I'm sad and it's date night so I think I will. Anyone else still having the odd drink?

Dinosauraddict · 05/07/2019 18:36

@bookworm18 I had one drink mid cycle. Decided it was better to have a drink and relax than stay dry and be stressed! Just had a total meltdown in the supermarket and sobbed because I didn't know what I wanted with my dauphinois for dinner. DH laughed at me. I sobbed harder. Now sat on a seat outside while he pays. Bloody clomid.

The clomid crazies were out on force with me this afternoon. My bf said he would be an hour late meeting me to go out due to an issue at work, I felt he was not prioritising me and had a go at him... 10 mins later had to apologise and realise I was being stupid! Flying off the handle at nothing these days!

doomkittycleo · 06/07/2019 00:22

We’ve had the alcohol convo before, but I’ll add my twopeneth for any newbies.

TTC is a long and arbitrary journey, I have been TTC for the best part of 5 years (excluding pregnancy with DD). I tried giving up alcohol completely, only to get frustrated at having missed out because we failed to conceive month after month.

If you enjoy the time occasional drink and don’t get wasted, it’s not going to harm your chances.

Once you get that BFP you have to watch your DP and family and friends have a drink and would love just 1, but you don’t because you don’t want to harm your baby.

In the mean time I go by the mantra of my late grandmother “a little bit of what you fancy does you good”.

So if you feel like that glass or two of wine, go for it.

Enough babies are conceived on drunken nights across the world, your couple of glasses once or twice a week won’t do any harm.

Thank you @doomkittycleo and @Marmite83 - I have suspected it for a few days but was worried it was just clomid making me feel awful. I woke my DH up at 5am to tell him Grin

@Dinosauraddict Big Congratulations - so happy for you! X

Marmite83 · 06/07/2019 10:33

Have you tested again yet @Zara84?

Zara84 · 06/07/2019 10:44

@Marmite83 - not yet... I went into a boots yesterday picked up the tests which were the digital ones and just had a weird sprout of anxiety and left the shop without buying :( just had a feeling I would see “not pregnant” I’m still getting a lot of cramps so think af might be round the corner. If af doesn’t show this weekend I will test again, hope your doing okay x

Dinosauraddict · 06/07/2019 11:10

squirrelnutkins1 · 06/07/2019 11:48

Yay congrats 🎉🎉🎉 @Dinosauraddict

Constance1234 · 06/07/2019 11:48

@Dinosauraddict how exciting, massive congratulations! X

Zara84 · 06/07/2019 13:18

@Dinosauraddict have you had any symptoms and what test did you choose ?

doomkittycleo · 06/07/2019 13:27

@Zara84, af cramps are normal in a bfp. I had them for a week before I got my bfp with DD. Then they continued throughout the first trimester on and off.

That faint positive has probably gotten darker by now. If I were you I’d definitely be taking another test.

Dinosauraddict · 06/07/2019 13:32

Thanks @squirrelnutkins1 and @Constance1234.
@Zara84 I have a little selection of tests in my drawer but the clinic told me to use a FRER on OTD so went with that. I got two lines immediately, no second guessing or squinting required and by the 3 min alarm it was pretty strong. I've had symptoms since Monday (10dpo) which I thought was really early but certain smells have been making me incredibly nauseous (fish, smoke, coffee), I've had a few dizzy spells (not normal for me), my breasts have been very tender with rock hard nipples and the last 48 hours I've been wanting sausages/bacon (I don't usually eat meat). I thought that was too early and that I was losing my mind but apparently the early hormones can cause it as soon as you start feeling nausea which seems insane. My DH says it's because my body needs more protein than I give it? Although I haven't been weeing anymore than usual. And I am mildly wondering if such early symptoms could indicate twins, but as long as the baby sticks I do not care. I just want it to be ok.

@doomkittycleo and @Marmite83 - thanks for your messages you pushed me to get off my backside and go to the pharmacy to buy a test and so I’ve tested and the line looks darker - could this really be my bfp?! I’m just numb:-/
I haven’t had any symptoms except the bad cramping and bad headaches ... but it is looking darker for sure :)

Zara84 · 06/07/2019 15:11

Test taken about 5 mins ago

Thanks have you told your family yet ?! I don’t know what to do Confused

Dinosauraddict · 06/07/2019 16:03

@Zara84 I've only told my DH. We get an early pregnancy scan at our clinic at around 7 weeks and 9 weeks and apart from my best friend, I won't be telling anyone else until after that and probably won't tell parents/family until 12 week NHS scan.
