Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

Oh @Pinktruffle that is so so rubbish. At least 5th September isn't far off. I know what you mean about the medical professionals not caring. You just feel like a nuisance all the time. Bring on 5th sept.

@Jemstar33 did af arrive today like you thought?

My progesterone results after the drilling and tube clear out is 64 which I think is good. Don't feel pregnant though, although I've never felt pregnant, even when I was!

Jemstar33 · 27/08/2019 17:00

It sure did @seven201 5 weeks to the day of mc which was same as someone mentioned theirs was on here!

What day post ovulation are you now?

seven201 · 27/08/2019 17:11

@Jemstar33 that's good - you can go on your girls weekend! My second cycle after mc was super short so we missed the fertile window completely, so be aware of that.

I think I'm 11ish dpo. I hate taking pregnancy tests but am going out on Friday night so will prob take one if af hasn't arrived by then so I know if I can drink!

Marmite83 · 27/08/2019 17:28

@Pinktruffle sorry it hasn't worked for you, it didn't work for me either but the IVF got me a bfp on my first cycle so hopefully it'll be the answer for you too. Hopefully the clinic will be more invested once you've actually started treatment. Just remember it's in their interest to get a positive result. I'm happy to share my experience if you have any questions/concerns. There's also some lovely people on the IVF/ICSI/FET thread.

Jemstar33 · 27/08/2019 17:46

@seven201 I’m glad your results were positive. Good idea re the pregnancy test! Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Yeah I can go, not sure I’ll drink which will be annoying with questions but I don’t want to do anything that could harm a potential baby. I should be a few days post ovulation when I’m due to go. Good thing is me and DP are away the week leading up ovulation (this is praying it’s the same as last time re timing) so plenty of time to have sex!

Jemstar33 · 27/08/2019 17:46

How are you feeling @Marmite83

Jemstar33 · 27/08/2019 17:47

@seven201 thanks for the heads up re early ovulation I’ll keep that in mind.

AmyMaria2 · 27/08/2019 21:14

BFN 13dpo today and af due Thursday so think I'm out this month, will test again tomorrow but not a lot of hope. Onto the 6th &
Final round of clomid!! 😩

Jemstar33 · 27/08/2019 21:51

@AmyMaria2 that’s still early. My friend didn’t get her bfp until a week after AF was due. Good luck. You’ll get there x

BinkyB4 · 28/08/2019 10:04

Hi all
I'm 8dpo and already starting to feel like af on its way :( Feel a bit headachy and 'off' but I'm pretty convinced I'm not pregnant.....in fact I'm pretty convinced clomid wont work for us at all.....I don't know why....
I'm wondering if the clomid will lengthen my really short cycle though or its just going to be the same?

Already feeling a little disheartened and fed up with it all and on the brink of tears.....

I arranged a blood test at my GP for yesterday so will see if my bloods show that I did ovulate this cycle, hopefully I will get the results soon.

Gosh what a depressing post.....sorry all!!!

Rinoa · 28/08/2019 11:50

Went for Treatment talk Appointment today. They gave us a few options:

  1. Clomid (£20)
2.Metformin (NHS) 3.Inofolic- myoinositol (£32 pm)
  1. mix of Clomid and metformin/inofolic

Think we will go with Clomid and take with inofolic as doc says metformin has some side effects initially. I think I'd rather minimise the side effects all I can!

£300 per cycle. If dose doesn't change then no cost for additional cycles. Includes cd10 scan, additional scan if needed and blood test for Ovulation.

So now just a waiting game until AF comes to commence the meds !

Rinoa · 28/08/2019 11:52

Sorry forgot to put they have prescribed 50mg Clomid to start

Jemstar33 · 28/08/2019 18:41

@BinkyB4 I know it’s the last thing you want to hear but try and stay positive

@Rinoa sounds like a good meeting with your doc. Hoping your AF arrives soon.

I’ve taken my first clomid tablet of this cycle today. Feeling excited but will try not to get my hopes up too much 😃

BinkyB4 · 28/08/2019 20:37

Thanks @Jemstar33.
I’ve had my 21 day bloods but they were only 22.1 so would suggest I haven’t ovulated. I knew it.

seven201 · 28/08/2019 21:29

@BinkyB4 that's rubbish. Do you think you had the blood test at the right time of your cycle? Maybe you were just a bit early or late as it's really hard to time that test right!

@Rinoa that all sounds good. I'm on metaformin, I had to increase he dose slowly but it's been fine. You don't need to pay that for inofolic, Mayo-insotol is what's in it so just get on amazon. I buy the my-ova version as it's cheaper and tablet form (I don't like sachets).

seven201 · 28/08/2019 21:30

@Jemstar33 good positive attitude! You need that to rub off on the rest of us me Wink

seven201 · 28/08/2019 21:31

This is the one I get

MyOva Myo-Plus Natural Supplement for PCOS with 4000mg Myo-Inositol + 200ug Folate + 100ug Chromium - Promotes hormonal Balance & Normal Ovarian Function - 120 Tablets - Made in The UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M0OZQHI/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_CsUzDbFZN6R3T

seven201 · 28/08/2019 21:33

Oops, just realised its out of stock (can buy a 3 pack though) and actually not that much cheaper anyway Blush

Rinoa · 28/08/2019 22:20

@seven201 I already bought the sachets. Need to take 2x a day. haha but good to know they do tablets! Seems easier!

Totally forgot to ask the doc about how the scans/bloods will work if they are assuming I will Ovulate on a certain day (as my average cycle is 62 days atm). Another thing to note is I will wait until af comes naturally instead of inducing so hope it's not too long a wait!

Rinoa · 28/08/2019 22:23

@Jemstar33 thanks! Best of luck and take it as my mom put it to me today "don't get too happy or too down about it. Just go with the flow and let God handle the rest" . Or at least that's how it roughly translates to haha easier said than done but it's a good thing to aim for!

doomkittycleo · 29/08/2019 00:00

Hi all, you may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet lately. After I found out I had 5 mature follicles (1 a cyst), we took a month off TTC, after the month off I had pain after BD so got my follow up appointment moved forward, they found x3 more 30mm cysts on the opposite side.

We’ve been back to the private clinic today and there is 1 final cyst and it’s smaller than it was, so looks like things are finally settling down.

We’ve made the decision to do IVF, which I’m fairly happy with, but now we’ve agreed it I’ve started getting buyers remorse (so to speak).

Like if we tried one more month, would it happen naturally. I know that’s unlikely, but I can’t help feeling anxious about spending so much of DP’s money when there’s a chance.

We’re off on holiday this weekend, so hopefully a bit of a break will help clear my head.

I hope you are all doing ok, did I read that @Marmite83 got her BPF?

Marmite83 · 29/08/2019 07:09

@doomkittycleo I totally understand the buyers remorse thing, I had the same but you won't care if it works and if it doesn't at least you'll know you tried everything. Have you looked into Access Fertility? I wasn't sure at first but we went with them for a 2 cycle package in the end. You get 2 fresh cycles and as many FETs as you have embryos for all included. You just pay for the meds on top. It really took the pressure off the first cycle knowing that we could do another one if we needed to. We couldn't have afforded 2 fresh cycles at full price. It does mean that if this pg works out (currently 6+2) we will have spent about £2.5k more than we needed too but I genuinely don't think I'll care. No pressure of course but thought it was worth mentioning it.

doomkittycleo · 29/08/2019 08:00

@Marnite83, that’s the exact package we’ve chosen (after a long perusal of price lists last night).

Thanks for the reassurance 😊 it does help that I’m not alone for feeling this way.

Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way. We’ll have to keep chatting, keep me updated how it’s all going.

seven201 · 29/08/2019 08:04

@Rinoa clomid usually shortens cycles to 'normal' length so they'll probably do a scan sometime around day 10 then ask you to come back a few days later if that scan was too early. When I was on clomid I loved having short/normal length cycles!

@doomkittycleo that all sounds very sensible. Does your dh want a baby (I'm guessing the answer is yes!) then it's absolutely a worthy thing to spend money on. Unless you're putting yourself into poverty (which I'm pretty sure you're not) then I personally would feel no guilt about it. It's also not dh's money, you're married, it's family money.

Rinoa · 29/08/2019 08:19

@Marmite83 congratulations on bfp

@seven201 that's good to know thank you! I love the idea of a regular cycle lol reminds me of the good ol days on birth control
