Our old clomid thread is no longer allowing new comments, and it's taken me 24 hours and multiple failed comments to understand why - we filled it up So thought I'd start a new one...

@girlrunningoncheese you’re probably right, maybe I will go ahead. I’ll just have to see when my period starts and make the decision then with timings etc. Thank you.

Have you tried the other sort of opks? I never had a good experience with the digital ones. Hope you get some good news on Wednesday.

Hope you can sort things out. It is the least romantic thing ever, I’m the worst for putting pressure on when it’s the right time of the month. It’s hard but maybe try as much as you can for every other day x

Jemstar33 · 12/08/2019 19:53

@Doris19 thank you, I’m not sure as I’m not sure when my period will start but I would expect in within the next 4 weeks. So I think it’ll all be down to timing to decide if I go ahead. I have a weekend away and then me and DP are away for a week so it would be ideal if my period arrives in two weeks 😂 x

girlrunningoncheese · 12/08/2019 20:08

@Jemstar33 I haven't tried the other OPKs but I might get some next month - apart from anything else the digital ones are expensive!

Yeah we're all good now. I think every other day is ok - and he does get it, we just both wish we didn't have to be so clinical and military about it! But you take the pills and have the scans and the last thing you want is to miss out on a month because you can't get the sex bit right Grin

Will keep everything crossed for a nicely timed AF in 2 weeks' time for you! Smile

Jemstar33 · 12/08/2019 20:21

@girlrunningoncheese they are expensive! I got like 50 for £5 of the others on eBay.

I hear you, it’s the hardest part tho 😂

Thank you! X

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well.

@Jemstar33 - it's hard making these cycles work around normal life isn't it? Sometimes I get an invitation and I immediately try and work out where I might be in a cycle. It's so tricky. Hopefully your period arrives soon.

I'm due my period tomorrow and I'm having cramps. :( Just crossing my fingers it stays away! I was so hopeful this cycle.

lauraslops · 13/08/2019 17:55

Hi,
This is my first post ever so i hope its ok as im not that clued up with all the abbreviations.
We have one 3 year old child who was a natural pregnancy and have been trying to conceive our 2nd for the past 2+ years. I went to see a fertility clinic a few months ago who ran lots of tests and the only issue they could find was low and irregular ovulation. Therefore they have prescribed me 6 cycles worth of Clomid 50mg. I took my first cycle of pills on cycle days 2-6 as adviced by doctor and so my last clomid pill was on 4th August. I have been using ovulation test strips for the last couple of weeks and i dont think ive ovulated Sad
I have to have a blood test on 19th August which will be cycle day 21 to see if its worked but im not hopeful.
Its been helpful reading through others experiences and reassuring to not feel so alone in this journey.

Jemstar33 · 13/08/2019 19:58

@CoffeeTables has AF arrived? I hope not.

Hi @lauraslops how did you find your first cycle, any side effects?

I ovulated cd 15-16 on my first round so don’t be too disheartened. Are you doing the tests day and night? I would recommend if not. Sorry to hear about your struggles but fingers crossed clomid is lucky for you!

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks after getting pregnant on my first round. That was 3 weeks ago so I’m just waiting on my period to arrive before I decide if I’ll go ahead with clomid again next cycle or wait a month. I have holidays and friends weddings coming up but my cycles are so irregular that if I wait I fear i’ll regret it.

lauraslops · 13/08/2019 20:39

@jemstar33 thank you for your reply!
the only side effect i noticed was the hot flushes. i took them at bedtime after ready peoples advice on line but the first couple of nights i struggled to sleep where i was so hot.
im sorry to hear about your loss and i really hope you have success on this next cycle whether you delay it or not. i have been testing at least once at day, sometimes twice.

Marmite83 · 13/08/2019 21:07

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I had a bit of a shock this morning, finally got a bfp!! Blood test at the clinic confirmed it. Pretty scared it's all going to go wrong but nothing I can do but wait and hope.

I've got my fingers crossed for lots of bfps on this thread soon!

Jemstar33 · 13/08/2019 21:41

OMG congratulations @marmite83 I’m so happy for you! Enjoy it x

CoffeeTables · 13/08/2019 23:04

@Marmite83 - congratulations! Smile That’s such wonderful news.

@Jemstar33 - no sign of af yet but I’m crampy. Not feeling very hopeful tbh.

AmyMaria2 · 14/08/2019 00:37

@Marmite83 congratulations!! Brilliant news x

girlrunningoncheese · 14/08/2019 10:48

@Marmite83 congratulations!! How lovely.

I had a tracking scan today, was going to trigger but it's only CD13 and the biggest follicle was 17mm so not quite ready yet. Going back on Friday. So my enforced BD at the weekend was rather premature Blush now to persuade DH that the next few days are kind of crucial in that regard!

Goingbacktokansascity · 14/08/2019 11:13

Congratulations @Marmite83!!!

impatientmammy · 14/08/2019 14:48

Congratulations @Marmite83 that's amazing new!!!
Does anyone here check their cervix? I've never been able to tell if it's open until this month when I've finally found the opening further around the cervix than I had realised. I have two questions for yous anyway. Does the opening being there mean I have a tilted cervix and will my cervix always be open (I had a c section 3.5 years ago)? Thank you if anyone has any answers x

Jemstar33 · 14/08/2019 17:58

@CoffeeTables what’s new, have you taken a test?

@impatientmammy I’ve never checked mine, well I’ve tried but I’ve no idea what I’m looking for 😂 think I also have the same problem with mine being tilted as when I’ve been for a smear/internal I usually have to sit on my hands 🙈

AmyMaria2 · 14/08/2019 22:14

@girlrunningoncheese what is the trigger for? X

seven201 · 14/08/2019 22:38

Oh my goodness congratulations @Marmite83. Bet it hasn't sunk in yet!

@impatientmammy I have a tilted one too. Been told at smears, it's very common I think and isn't meant to affect conception. I don't know anything about the open/closed thing, sorry.

I'm on cd14, first cycle after my laparoscopy to clear tube and drill my ovaries. I'm on metaformin, not clomid. My opk was quite dark today! Never had a dark opk this early on, except on clomid (which I can't take anymore) so the drilling probably did something good. Sex season has just recommenced in our household! But... my dad is staying for a couple of days, and his bedroom is next to ours! I feel like it's a fresh start for our ttc journey now my tube is clear.

CoffeeTables · 15/08/2019 00:58

Hello all! Hope you're all well. :)

Unfortunately af arrived for me this morning so our second cycle has failed. :( Feeling all the usual feelings of hopelessness. Why does this have to be so hard for some of us? I'm not sure what happens next, I have an appointment with our specialist next Tuesday but if I'm doing another round I'd have to start taking letrzole before then. I might give them a call today. Just out of interest, what cycle day do you other letrozole users start taking it?

@Jemstar33 - thanks for checking in with me. How's it going with you? Has your period arrived yet?

@impatientmammy - I'm another tilted cervix so I've never checked mine sorry! I wonder if I should give it a go..

@girlrunningoncheese - good luck for the next few days! Hope they see a ready follie on Friday :)

@seven201- good luck to you too! Hopefully you can bd around your dad's visit! :)

HmBuddy · 15/08/2019 09:53

Congratulations @Marmite83... Amazing news!

I'm on cd12 having taken my second round of clomid 50mg. Had my scan yesterday... I have a persistent cyst on my left side which is growing slightly every scan now (now at about 4cm). My consultant said I might need surgery to remove it but the Dr I seen yesterday didn't seem worried. He thinks it is linked to endometriosis and shouldn't be affected by clomid.
So... I only ovulate from my right side and the follicle measured 14mm yesterday. I find it all a bit much to take in when I'm there so I never ask any questions.... Does 14mm seem hopeful at day 11?
Thanks 😊

Marmite83 · 15/08/2019 09:58

Thank you everyone for your congratulations, still feels very surreal.

I truly hope you all get your bfps soon!

girlrunningoncheese · 15/08/2019 12:01

@AmyMaria2 it's to trigger ovulation - apparently you ovulate 24-36 hours after the injection. Just helps time things better and also ensure you do actually ovulate!

@CoffeeTables really sorry you're out this month. Hope you get a good plan for the next phase on Tuesday Thanks

@HmBuddy 14mm on Day 11 seems very hopeful! I had a 17mm yesterday (CD13) and my nurse said that's ideal, and I think normal pace of growth is around 2mm per day so you are right on track Smile

girlrunningoncheese · 15/08/2019 12:03

@seven201 good luck for Sex Season whilst your dad is visiting!! Grin

AmyMaria2 · 15/08/2019 13:41

Had a tracking scan today, 4/5 follicles in my right side but none over 8mm, 5/6 follicles in my left side and one of them is 23mm so hoping for left side to work, we have bd at all the right times so fingers crossed x

girlrunningoncheese · 15/08/2019 14:26

@AmyMaria2 what day of the cycle are you on? 23mm sounds very positive!
