Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

@2019isouryear the 4th went down a treat. I got all the injection prepped alone and it went smoothly I think it’s because we had a table booked tonight at 8pm that I was focused on being on time lol. Hubby did my injection tonight I felt such a rush of love for him when he did it and this journey really does bring us stronger doesn’t it - in it together 💪🏼 X

@Hopingforbabyd I know this journey can be up and down but I’d agree it has definitely made us realise how strong we are. I did day 10 tonight and the bloating is definitely kicking up a notch and my boobs jesus never felt such relief taking my bra off the last couple of nights. Hope you had a lovely night.

Another scan in the morning to find out how it’s progressing and might get date for trigger and EC 😬

AliceAbsolum · 21/04/2019 21:54

@2019isouryear Day 10, you're getting there. A few years I switched to soft padded bras for everyday, I'll never look back now. Worth a shot. But I suppose you don't have long left now. Best of luck for the scan tomorrow x

@hopingforababyd Aww that's sweet. Shared adversity can do wonders for relationships I think Smile

My 3rd was fine, DH was upstairs and I was pleased to do it quickly start to finish. A drop of the fluid leaked out of the puncture wound, but I'm sure that tiny but will be OK.
Felt pretty sick and tired the last few nights. Can tell its the meds, it has an odd chemical feel to it. Can't explain it.
1st Fyremadel tomorrow morning. Nurse said that ones hurts more and I'm terrified about missing it and ovving. But I have 3 alarms set so 1 just need to chill.

DaisyMay25 · 21/04/2019 22:19

@2019isouryear hope tomorrow goes well and they go ahead with the trigger!!

Hopingforbabyd · 21/04/2019 22:52

@2019isouryear @aliceabsolum thanks ladies I had a lovely night...though I did find a spider in my lettuce wedge 🙈😳 we went to a new miller and carter in town. It was delightful and I’m glad I didn’t eat the spider. I feel a song coming along 😄
May I ask, how many doses of your injections have you been given? I’ve only been given 7 days worth of meriofert and then I will be introducing fyremadel day 6 and 7 and pessaries but haven’t been told when to use them yet I’m getting worked up this evening I haven’t been given enough meds.
Best of luck for tomorrow @2019isouryear hoping tomorrow is trigger day for you x

@Hopingforbabyd I started pessaries the night of the trigger shot, and then the oestrogen patches from egg collection onwards.
Going to try and get a private scan today. Boobs have stopped hurting as much and my anxiety can't take it!

DaisyMay25 · 22/04/2019 06:48

@Hopingforbabyd I started pessaries two days after egg collection. I think every clinic is different though. When's your next appointment? They might give you more meds then. I ran out of stims so had to get more.

@Twiglet2353 hopefully you manage to get a scan today but I know the worry. I prod mine as soon as I wake up even though I know they never hurt in the morning, more as the day goes on. How far along are you now?

AliceAbsolum · 22/04/2019 07:58

@Hopingforbabyd I'm only prescribed until my 1st scan on Friday. Guess it makes sense as they don't know where the cycle will go from then on. At £135 for one evening dose I'm also not surprised.
I had my first morning fyremadel this morning. So much easier as its all set up but a bigger needle and quite stingy.
Apparently in my clinic they put a pessary up your bum for you during EC! Then continue until 12 weeks for single and 28 weeks if twins.

@twiglet2353 Why not eh. Excessive checking probably isn't wise but the odd scan isn't going to hurt. Let us know! Xx

DaisyMay25 · 22/04/2019 08:01

@AliceAbsolum I had a pain killer put up my bum when they had finish egg collection (DH called it my bum chum)! Yea my clinic say 12 weeks if pregnant too, until your body will make progesterone by itself

AliceAbsolum · 22/04/2019 08:06

Guys we need another thread as we are dangerously close to maxing this one out. I'll make it "Join us here for the TMI IVF March/April/May thread"

WorriedButterfly · 22/04/2019 09:23

@Twiglet2353 I feel your worry. I don't feel like I'll make it to two weeks tomorrow for my scan, do you get a private scan from your clinic or go somewhere different. I have lost 'the' feeling since yesterday and it's making me feel down and stressed. Which then makes me feel worse because supposing it is in my head and I am just messing everything up! My boobs come and go, it is so hard to know with the pessaries. I hope it goes well today. X

Twiglet2353 · 22/04/2019 09:31

@WorriedButterfly pleased I'm not alone in this. It's only a week until my clinic scan but I've just felt really unsettled over the past few days.
Have managed to get a private scan with a company at 1 today so fingers crossed 🤞

DaisyMay25 · 22/04/2019 10:09

@Twiglet2353 I just did a little reading, try not to worry about the lack of boob tenderness. It's linked to the progesterone and our bodies won't be making that naturally yet so hopefully it's nothing to worry about. How the scan goes well today! It's strange your clinic doesn't offer one sooner though

Hopingforbabyd · 22/04/2019 10:39

@twiglet2353 @daisymay25 @aliceabsolum @worriedbutterfly Thanks ladies you’ve put my mind at ease re the meds I think I was just panicking as they run out the day of my first scan which is Wednesday.
@twiglet2353 @worriedbutterfly I hope you’re both feeling okay this must be so worrying but I’m hoping all is well it’s so daunting isn’t it.

I agree re a new thread for when this one’s maxed out I like the name @aliceabsolum 😄👏🏻

My tummy is feeling so swollen and tender this morning, I’m hoping that is a good sign things are working. Should I be feeling like this after just 4 injections? X

@hopingforbabyd I agree that are positive to this journey is a closeness with partner. Don’t get me wrong at times it has tested us and caused ya more arguments but I think in the end it has bonded us. I think it gives our partners an eye into how much as women we have to go through. Re the bloated feeling -don’t worry I don’t think it’s too early-it’s probably a good sign really -though uncomfortable!

@2019isouryear you sound like you are nearly there-I found those last few days more challenging-hang on in there-not Long now! It was a strange feeling when I was asked to trigger.

@Twiglet2353 good luck with the scan. @WorriedButterfly it must be a very worrying time -remember though I think symptoms do come and go and also we are all on progesterone etc

Hopingforbabyd · 22/04/2019 12:19

@mouse1234567 thank you for reassuring me it really has taken a weight off my mind. I’ve tried to call the clinic today to let them know about my dosage of meriofert but they’re not answering, may be because of bank hol but I’ll call again tomorrow. Think I’m just panicking that I’ll run out and then they won’t have any meds for me when I go for my scan on Wednesday 🙈 How are you feeling? X

2019isouryear · 22/04/2019 16:04

@Hopingforbabyd I know it’s easy to say but sounds like they have worked out ur medication until your first scan, and in case they need to do any changes. I thinking bloating is a good sign that the little follicles are growing.

Hope your scan went well @Twiglet2353

Hope everyone is doing ok, will definitely go over to other thread @AliceAbsolum I didnt know that they maxed out.

Had my 2nd scan this morning and all ready to trigger tonight and EC wed morning, which just makes everything seem more real. They said I’ve got a good 8 follicles that have matured which I’m pleased with, as think I might be a little older than u ladies (41). What surprised me was that the clinic automatically sign u off work for 2 weeks from EC, which has taken way the when to go back to work debate.

DaisyMay25 · 22/04/2019 16:07

@2019isouryear yay for EC on Wednesday! So happy for you. That's great that they've signed you off for two weeks too. I spent most of the week after EC napping haha

2019isouryear · 22/04/2019 16:31

Thanks @DaisyMay25 it has definitely taken away any stress about work.

@AliceAbsolum Interesting what your clinic has said about pessary up the bum at EC as when I seen the nurse today she told me to ignore if I’m told to do that and start pessaries on thurs (1) then 3 a day from fri.

Hopingforbabyd · 22/04/2019 17:03

@2019isouryear thank you, yes I believe you’re right as it would make sense. I am so uncomfortable today I’m a little nervous about overstimulating but all will be revealed on Wednesday. And EC on Wednesday for you!! So exciting! That’s come around so quickly! X
