Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

6 days into stims and woke up this morning with boobs feeling a lot more tender. Getting cramps but not feeling too bloated, feels like time of the month and maybe a little distended but nothing uncomfortable. I have resorted tho to flashing my belly at the DH asking him, tho think he is resorting to the good old answer of no. Poor thing prob doesn’t know what to say.

DaisyMay25 · 18/04/2019 09:08

@2019isouryear my DH keep telling me to put my tummy away and said I never look bloated! I did though, and it was rock hard.

@mouse1234567 for two days after EC I was in terrible pain, I couldn't move because of the bloating and cramps. It eased up three days after. I hope they call you soon!

@Wesstywoo hope today goes well for you.

@Sorka glad everything went well and you've been about to start stims!

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 09:13

Thanks @DaisyMay25 I will def talk to my clinic today about my symptoms when I go to consent for the hysteroscopy. Did you get any hot flushes on your cheeks? Mine have been red since the middle of the night

Wesstywoo · 18/04/2019 09:17

Thanks ladies, will let you know how we get on xx

DaisyMay25 · 18/04/2019 09:20

@Wesstywoo not so much flushes in my cheeks just flushes in general, mind gave me codeine for the pain and lactulose for the constipation (if you have that) which obviously helped the pain and bloating. I have IBS and annoyingly can't take any of my normal meds.

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 09:51

Thanks @DaisyMay25 tmi but I am a little constipated -although my slight change of diet yesterday prob didn’t help that!

Great news just got the call-in fact only 18 of my 22 eggs were mature and 17/18 have fertilised. She said as far as she can see they look good quality in the main-two apparently have something I can’t remember the name of that isn’t great but it’s only two so I’m happy. Updates again on Saturday -the next wait continues! Gonna try and relax and switch off from it till then-it might be nice not waiting for a call tomorrow. Thanks for all your support everyone.

DaisyMay25 · 18/04/2019 09:54

@mouse1234567 I'd see if they can prescribe some lactulose then, it helped me a lot!

That's fantastic!
We only got 13 of the 22 fertilised (they only managed to inject 19)
And we got five at day five, so hopefully you'll get the same or better if more have fertilised!

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 09:58

Thanks @DaisyMay25 did you have ICSI then? I would be so happy with 5 at day 5 so fingers crossed they progress well. Such a waiting game!!

DaisyMay25 · 18/04/2019 10:04

@mouse1234567 we did, our issues are all male factor. Hopefully you get more than that!

So I'm Day three after transfer and I'm getting cramps today, they're feel like how I feel before AF comes. It's a little worrying. Did anybody else get them this early?

Hopingforbabyd · 18/04/2019 10:37

Best of luck today @wesstywoo x

Hi all. Hope it's ok if I tag on here? A little bit late though..

I'm 29, Dutch, PCOS. No natural cycle at all so the past 2 years were not actual ttc as there was nothing to conceive. My AMH is through the roof, very PCOS. Not overweight though, I'm pretty lean.

Just had my first egg retrieval last Saturday. We actually started this cycle late March as an IUI. Last IUI in Jan/feb resulted in 1 nice follicle but no pregnancy. So we went for another IUI but I suddenly reacted like crazy and 5 follicles popped up. Instead of cancelling they opted for an escape IVF. It's a freeze-all cycle.

With 75 IU Menopur per day they retrieved 12 follicles, 10 eggs. 5 became day2 embryos (3 four-cell, 2 two-cell) and today is day 5. Very anxious to hear (tomorrow) if they were able to freeze any blastocysts. Very nervous about it!

Also, I just started the mother of all periods today just 5 days after the egg retrieval.

Best of luck to everyone!! I hope for many sticky embryos for all!!

Wesstywoo · 18/04/2019 12:59

Pleased to say that my embryo survived the thaw and is now on board - feeling relieved. Now for the tww xx

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 13:52

@WesstyWoo what wonderful news -I have everything crossed for you. Feeling ok so far re the two week wait? Do you seem more prepared for it mentally and physically after a FET rather than fresh?

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 14:05

@MabelPickles how interesting I have never heard of an IUI turn IVF -that must have been a shock for you but it sounds like you are likely to have some day 5s to freeze -best of luck to you! I had egg retrieval yesterday and at also doing a freeze all. My luteal phase is short so I wouldn’t be surprised if my period arrives soon too-I think short luteal phases are a bit of a PCOS thing-I have PCO.

@DaisyMay25 well I have both endo and PCO so wouldn’t be surprised if we get quite a lot of drop off but hopefully not!

I’m rather pleased -I have my consult today re my hysteroscopy and it was with the top guy who did my laparoscopy last summer. He has requested it within 6 weeks and says he can do it himself. Apparently I can start my downreg drugs in the meantime. It is general anaesthetic which I don’t like but apparently not a long recovery time. So I start norethisterone on day 14 of my next cycle so about three weeks time with a hope to do a frozen transfer in about two months time on the next cycle. It’s all so much quicker than I thought -I’m so relieved.

In other news I had to run to the loo in the clinic because I thought I was going to vomit -luckily I didn’t-the clinic weren’t too worried and said the symptoms are post egg collection because I had a lot of eggs and to rest up and it should pass in a few days.

Wesstywoo · 18/04/2019 14:14

@mouse1234567 thank you. I'd say physically yes definitely but I have found the waiting to get here very tough indeed - I was due to have this cycle earlier in the year but it got delayed at the last minute due to non-fertility related health issues which are now resolved! I am hopeful because sadly AF turned up on my OTD last time (despite getting a strong BFP that morning) so I am hoping that my hormones and lining are a bit more stable with FET 🤞

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 14:22

@WesstyWoo yes you have had a long wait -that must have been incredibly frustrating.

Have you got any more progesterone this time to hold off period or is that not something clinics think helps? I have problems with progesterone-I worry about my luteal phase! That must have been heartbreaking to see a BFP-I really hope it’s a sticky one this time.

Wesstywoo · 18/04/2019 14:26

@mouse1234567 yes they have discovered my progesterone is on the low side during this cycle actually (I now wonder if that was the issue last time) so I've got injections as well as pessaries this time round. Hopefully that will keep AF away long enough to give this little dot a chance!

mouse1234567 · 18/04/2019 14:37

@WesstyWoo yes I hope so-I know the cyclogest worked well for me on my IUI but I have noticed they have put me on two lubion injections a day post transfer. I made a real fuss about my progesterone!! Don’t want more needles but if it does the job it’s worth it isn’t it?!

Wesstywoo · 18/04/2019 15:33

@mouse1234567 yes definitely! Mine are intra muscular (in the bum cheek!) and the needles are HUGE! Had 1 already and it wasn't as bad as I thought - got to do everything to give it our best shot xx

2019isouryear · 18/04/2019 16:48

Wow they’re great numbers @mouse1234567

Fingers crossed your embie gets all snug in there @Wesstywoo

2019isouryear · 18/04/2019 16:58

@DaisyMay25 glad it’s not just me that gets her belly out. Ive heard others say about implantation feeling like AF cramps so could be little embie getting all snug Smile

DaisyMay25 · 18/04/2019 17:01

@2019isouryear haha nope, gotta show off that bloat! That's reassuring but I'm trying not to get my hopes up but it's so hard not too! When's your scan booked in for?

2019isouryear · 18/04/2019 17:40

@DaisyMay25 tomorrow morning. Little nervous hope it’s all progressing as it should be. With it being bank hol nice that DH gets to come with me.

DaisyMay25 · 18/04/2019 17:41

@2019isouryear fingers crossed you've got some nicely growing follicles in there!

Hopingforbabyd · 18/04/2019 18:02

Welcome @mablepickles never too late to join 😊 how are you feeling? X
@wesstywoo so glad you were able to transfer, wishing you all the best during your tww - time for some you time x
@mouse1234567 those numbers are fantastic!! How are you doing after EC? I’m having the af of all afs it is just awful and I’m getting familiar endo symptoms is this normal after coming off norethisterone for ivf to start? I’m worried it’s returned just at the wrong time 😫
@2019isouryear how are you getting on? Hoping all is well, can’t believe how quickly it’s going! X

I’m starting my first stims in an hour and a half! I have no idea why I’ve picked 730 😄 but I’m so nervous. Hubby is working away tonight so I have my two best friends with me to keep me calm and then we’re going to have a dominoes to celebrate! So glad it’s good Friday tomorrow a big fat lay in and hubby will be home 😁

Wishing all of you lots of love and luck as always x
