Hi ladies
I’m hoping to find a cycle buddy or anyone who has been through IVF before. We are due to have our appointment for our plan at the end of next week and I just wanted to hear any stories/advice anyone may have as my mind is very busy with questions.
A little background from me, I’m 28 and been trying to conceive for 3 years now. Last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis which sadly affected both of my tubes. I’ve had them removed in November and all endo has been removed. We have been told the chances of conception are against us due to the severity of my condition but I’m holding onto hope. Are there any ladies who have similar stories who can give me a little encouragement? I’m quite nervous to start IVF but excited at the idea this could be our chance!
Thanks 😊💛 xx

@AliceAbsolum I really hope everything goes well for you today

AliceAbsolum · 19/04/2019 14:48

I'm pleasently surprised. Stims tonight, EC provisionally booked for the 1st!

mouse1234567 · 19/04/2019 15:10

@AliceAbsolum it’s always best to prepare yourself for the worst in this journey but I’m so pleased it’s good to go for you! Good luck with your first injection!

Loving all this sunny weather -hope everyone is getting on ok. It’s rather pleasant not to be expecting a call from the clinic today re embryo progress and just have a relaxing day!

Wesstywoo · 19/04/2019 15:20

@AliceAbsolum excellent news!

@mouse1234567 me too, out in the garden getting some vitamin D! Smile

mouse1234567 · 19/04/2019 15:34

@2019isouryear those follicles sound great-I agree with the others -not too much longer now. You must be starting to get quite bloated!

@WesstyWoo sounds lovely in the garden -I’m off out of London to my parents who have a garden so will be doing the same!

Sorry everyone as this is quite gross but I’m so constipated since EC-is this normal? Do you know why? Do they give us meds during the procedure that I don’t about? Any tips would be great!

DaisyMay25 · 19/04/2019 15:45

@mouse1234567 I had terrible constipation, I'm not sure why, I think it's a mix of the medication and all the swelling messing with our bowels. The lactulose took a couple of days to start working but it helped for sure!

@AliceAbsolum fantastic news!!

I just found the biggest wasp I've ever seen in my house, one of cats alerted me to it. She was devastated when I got rid of it, she thought she'd found a new friend!

Wesstywoo · 19/04/2019 15:46

@mouse1234567 yes I was the same, it just felt like everything was a bit swollen in that region! It settled down after a few days

Hopingforbabyd · 19/04/2019 15:50

@AliceAbsolum hello cycle buddy 😁 you’ve got this! Will be thinking of you for first stims egg collection estimated same date for me too! X

@mouse1234567 bloating definitely kicking up a notch.

Good look starting stims @Aliceabsolum

Thanks everyone the clinic seemed pleased with the numbers so 🤞🏻for plenty of eggs.

Hope everyone is still enjoying the sunshine ☀️

Brambles7 · 19/04/2019 17:54

@Aliceabsolum that’s great news! Good luck with the stimming.

To everyone in the 2ww, hope you’re doing okay it’s such a torturous wait. Wishing you all positive outcomes at the end of it.

Twiglet2353 · 19/04/2019 19:09

@AliceAbsolum so bloody happy for you to finally get started!!! Smile

AliceAbsolum · 19/04/2019 19:09

Thank you everyone xx
1st injection done! Pretty nerve wracking, but done. Ahhh, it's all real now. The vaccum in the 3rd menopur vial was a battle.

Soooo scared I'm going to forget one.

The nurse was great today, I told her I have emetophobia (vomit phobia) and she said I could be the 1st ivf lady to go down (they do the ICSI ladies first because "they've got to spend time stripping the eggs"!) and she said I'd get extra anti emetics. Phew!

AliceAbsolum · 19/04/2019 19:10

@Twiglet2353 thank you lovely. We've been going through this together for a while haven't we. How're you getting on? Are you in a grad thread? Xx

DaisyMay25 · 19/04/2019 19:12

@AliceAbsolum yay! It's all a little bit closer now. I set an alarm on my phone for everyday just in case.
That's good they're offering you extra medication just in case. I haven't vomited during the whole process just the odd nausea. So hopefully all is fine for you too 😊
When's your next scan booked in for?

2019isouryear · 19/04/2019 19:19

So happy that you have started @AliceAbsolum and they do get easier. I agree with @DaisyMay25 I have an alarm set to go off at the same time every day giving me 15 mins to get everything ready. When’s your next scan?

Twiglet2353 · 19/04/2019 19:35

@AliceAbsolum I'm getting there. Just plodding along literally counting down the days until my scan on the 29th. Tentatively joined a grad thread 🤞🙂

Hope the next few weeks are kind to you

Hopingforbabyd · 19/04/2019 19:42

@2019isouryear I’m so glad I had this thread to go back to as tonight’s injection I got a little blob of blood after injecting and panicked. I couldn’t get the fluid back in syringe and kept getting upset so hubby took over. Think it was nerves showing him how good I was yesterday 😄 tomorrow I will not show off again 😳🙈 x

Couldn’t agree more @Hopingforbabyd. I have told very few people about our ivf, just a few friends in work for support during any possible meltdown and my best friend so this thread and being able to speak to you ladies who I know are going through the same journey and experiences is invaluable. You will get them mastered and show DH tomorrow Smile

@DaisyMay25 Glad to hear about the lack of vom Grin My next scan is in a week. I work 32 hours a week so get some afternoons off but apparently progress scans need to be done in the morning. But I've jiggled things around.

@2019isouryear Good idea about the alarms beforehand. I shall do this now.

@twiglet2353 Hanging on in there is good. Every day is a day closer to your baby in your arms x

@hopingforababyd Very pleased to have a cycle buddy Flowers

AliceAbsolum · 19/04/2019 20:55

@DaisyMay25 Thank you. Scan is next Friday, I work 32 hours a week so get some afternoons off but apparently progress scans need to be done in the morning, but that's OK.
