To ask what childless woman do to feel a sense of purpose in life?

I've recently had a lot of tests to confirm that I'm unable to have children. Can I ask any childless women out there what you do to have a fulfilling life? I expect to get slated asking this, but I feel you grow up with the expectation of getting married and having children and now I feel a bit lost :( I think I just need a bit of inspiration and reassurance.

bananafish you didn't hijack and I'm so glad you're on this thread!!

I would say relationships, or maybe chat? Or does that get deleted about a month of starting?

if its any consolation OP, I have kids and dont feel like ive got massive sense of purpose, in fact i sometimes think that all ive done is brought more people to have other pointless lives

There’s been some brilliant answers and insights here (among some serious bellendry), and I’m glad you’ve found some like-minded people, OP.
Hope you find peace and equilibrium in the coming years, whichever form it takes.

This is such a difficult topic - so many people simply don't understand why I don't have children. Both men and women have openly asked why I haven't got on with it. After 15 years of choosing not to have children so that I get my career moving first, I (and we) now want them and we're in a position of not being able to have them. One day, I don't worry about it and I think I there are many things in life that keep me busy anyway, including care for a family member with mental health issues, and other days, I'm conscious of the silence at home, and the absence of the children I want. If we manage to have one - and chances are low - I know it'll be my only one, and I will put my career into second place for a while, while I enjoy family life.

Don't be confused @Boo2you, there are many many boards on here that have nothing to do with Parenting. Have a look around.

Should we be not be in Conception or Infertility until we have actually given birth?

PurpleDaisies · 06/11/2018 15:39

You’ve posted on other threads in infertility boo. Can you honestly not understand why people would post for support while they’re trying to conceive? Hmm

Also, look the topics list. Do you have to have a child to have a valid opinion on tv, pets, to post in chat?

I am really confused about why idiots keep posting that sort of question.

PoisonousSmurf · 06/11/2018 15:40

Lots of dogs and horses Grin

According to some people on here yes!

Boo2you · 06/11/2018 15:49

I’m sorry I was trying to offend anyone it’s just some people were saying they don’t have and don’t want kids surely those people are not ttc? I wasn’t talking about people who just don’t have children? Sorry I can see my question was badly worded I jut meant people who both don’t have children AND don’t want children!

PurpleDaisies · 06/11/2018 15:52

I can see my question was badly worded I just meant people who both don’t have children AND don’t want children!

There are still hundreds and hundreds of threads that aren’t specific to people that don’t have or want their own children.

God you really do have to be lacking in imagination, it's obvs very difficult to see how the Feminism boards, or AIBU, or Style and Beauty, or Chat, or Brexit, could possibly be relevant to anyone without children

No child, no feminism or Brexit for you!

Botanica · 06/11/2018 16:26

Given we have no purpose in life, it'd clearly be pointless to care about issues such as feminism, brexit, anything about the future of the world...

Boo2you · 06/11/2018 16:31

Sorry I'm quite a new member so I hadn't seen all the other threads i sincerely apologise if I offended anyone it wasn't my intention!

Boo2you · 06/11/2018 16:40

I also disagree with anyone who says people without children have no purpose in life! We're not just born to be baby making machines!!
