Frankie Boyle on Down Syndrome - horrific

interesting blog post from a mother of a DS daughter who was blasted by a 5-10 minute diatribe containing all the old stereotypes about people with DS at a Frakie Boyle show. I'm turning off any TV show he's on in future.

DP Question for you (sorry hijack again but i'll redeem myself at end of post promise) Why do you post on MN? I'm not saying you shouldn't obviously, I'm just genuinely interested in why post here rather than on a board with more like minded posters? I don't think its to educate yourself as you don't seem to take on other's viewpoints.

I thought FB was funny originally, I saw him at Murrayfield before the England Scotland rugby game and he wasn't offensive. However, after reading about this I would never see him again and think he should be ashamed.

Enough. I don't agree with DP's views in any way shape or form but will apologize to her for actually thinking she could be the offensive poster on the MN Facebook page yesterday.

Anyway - enough of it. I don't like or agree with Frankie Boyle and I don't agree with DP on many issues however I don't like witch-hunts.

Do YOU feel bullied DP? You come across as very able to fight your corner - give as good as you get etc.

No, I don't feel bullied, I feel sorry for the people who follow me around...they make me laugh more than anything, but I'm not putting up with namechanging idiots, because if they are allowed to get away with it they will do it to other posters, posters who may not be able to handle it...

Sorry DP - getting DS to bed. Horrible post on MN facebook page by the name of Claire Khaw. Unfortunately she shares some views with you and yesterday I wrongly assumed she was you - hence my apologies. I blocked her on FB so now I don't have to read her stuff.

She supports the BNP
She has a lot to say about single parents categorizes them into 1,2 and 3 (I am in 2)
She hates gay/lesbian relationships from what I can see of her.

Google the name and you'll get the idea of her stuff.

No 2shoes I don't believe that at all. I think intolerance SHOULD be challenged and it's not witch-hunting to do that but I just feel that the name-changing got very silly.

Or have I got it all wrong...

I know DP holds strong opinions and I don't agree with many of them. However, as long as she is not offensive to people she can hold whatever views she likes. When people start getting offended though then challenge is needed which is I assume what DP gets here.

Anna Moore has an article in the Daily Mail today about bullies on Mumsnet.....I would link it but it's not anything we haven't seen a million times before...which is worrying isn't it.....is that the image MN wants..?
