I can't decide whether this is very sad or quite enterprising. A bit of both I think.

What did amaze me is that a medical professional endorsed her virginity at a press conference!

story here - warning, it's in the DM!

OP posts:

I'm quite suprised no one regognised me by my verbage. I was even hamming it up!

morningpaper · 15/05/2009 17:25

Your verbage was atrocious

morningpaper · 15/05/2009 17:26

I honestly was starting to think you were some pervert with a subscription to Ms magazine (that would be so perverted)

Litchick · 15/05/2009 17:30

So who in God's name is it?

I wasn't pretending anythiong Dittany. I was taking the piss out of people on anonymous forums demanding personal information (which has no provinance) just in order to build up a personal attack on the unknowsn persons personaliuty.

I know you raen'tknown for your humour but I will keep unleashing my verbage on you for as long as you so obvioulsy enjoy it

Vittoria · 15/05/2009 18:18

MP I haven't paid for the subscription, but I do get the email alerts. And the 'Twilight is anti-feminist' editorial is no joke!

I can't think of a more guarenteed way for feminism to alienate the generation of women just coming of age! Someone sack the editor!

PMSL this is getting even funnier.

Can't we just allow for the fact that the woman in the OP made a choice about how to earn some money (and then cleverly exploited the media to make even more money)??? And celebrate the fact that she is allowed to make that choice, even though we wouldn't necessarily do it ourselves? Personally I'd rather use my brain to earn a living, but each to their own.

And can those of us who like men and consider ourselves equal to them enjoy a GHF without being told off about it by some nannyish old 'feminist'?

Cheers!

For someone not interested you just can't keep yourself from commenting can you dittany
BTW the woman didn't consider herself to be expoited but you seem to be missing that fundamental point.

Tortington · 15/05/2009 19:29

irony of vittriolic vittoria using this as a social experiment on how others get personal and then got personal with me.

"I was taking the piss out of people on anonymous forums demanding personal information (which has no provinance) just in order to build up a personal attack"

Hmm I think you are reading more into it than is here. I was interested to know your age because you sounded rather some young laydee friends of mine who espouse similar ideas. I think it's reasonable to want to know what informs someone. There was certainly no demanding.

Not sure why you needed to pose as a somewhat unhinged man posing as a young woman though (?) - I would have thought an argument either works, or it doesn't ...

violethill · 15/05/2009 19:44

The woman in the OP is happy with the deal - weekend of luxury, and a load of cash. Presumably the man was too. Or if it was shit sex, and he didn't enjoy it much, he hasn't sold his story to the papers (yet!)

That's what happened. The woman is an adult -her choice to do what she did. End of. Not up to the nanny misogynists to try to tell her.

Oh. dittany change the record plureese

I am interested Violent - well not in the itty bitty details - but, y'know - it's nioce to know some women aren't oppressed by a GHF. What it has to do with women in Equador, I don;t know..

MP Posing? I refer you back to that post. I think I desctibed 'myself' as some kind of natural catastrophy. Would that not alert even you to the possibily of satire?? Please tell me you have not drifted in to the dark side while I;ve been gone...

violethill · 15/05/2009 20:02

'How do you know she doesn't have a pimp in the background? Read the link I posted about how young women turn up at brothels in Ecuador claiming it is their choice but when they are further questioned they admit that a father, brother or boyfriend has turned them out. It's not that unusual for young Romanian women in prostitution to have a pimp.

And even if she doesn't how do you know she doesn't have a background of sexual abuse? Sexual abuse survivors are incredibly common in prostitution because it is training from an early age that that is what they can expect in life.'

How do you know she does???!!! This is becoming increasingly ridiculous!
It's also not uncommon for women to offer sex for something they want in exchange AND TO FEEL PERFECTLY HAPPY ABOUT IT!!

As for the power differentials... maybe I shouldn't be having that unmentionable GHF with my other half tonight... after all, he does earn more than me, and is treating me to a nice night out tomorrow.

Everyone else is attached to an ideology but you're not, of course, dittany!!

The OP was actually about a specific woman who is very happy with the deal she chose, and presumably happy with the deal she is choosing with the media. So let her have her point of view. Stop trying to rewrite it for her.

And don't tell me to STFU - it's very bossy and rude you know. Just because you don't respect women does not entitle you to be rude to us all. (Or to men for that matter...)

He didn't buy the woman, he bought a few a few hours of sex with her.

I didn't say I think men should be able to 'buy women' anyway. So once again you're re-writing everyone else's posts as well as the woman't pov.

As for your question, I don't compare my sex life to this woman (she's not a girl btw, 18 is adult) wanting money to have sex with someone. As I said earlier I prefer to earn my money in other ways
