Andy Burnham just doesn't get it does he, we don't want anymore migrants/illegals put anywhere not in rich or poor areas we want to stop them coming here full stop.

OP posts:

Only the best for the migrants…

Just stop it. People are not illegal. So fucking tired of this reactionary racist shite on here and everywhere.

You do not speak for me so stop saying 'we' when you're parroting Nigel racist fuckface thanks.

To be fair leafy villages revolt over any extra homes at all. It's how they stay leafy.

OddBoots · Yesterday 09:48

Densely populating refugees (or any other population demographic for that matter) anywhere sounds like a bad plan, mixed living does tend to show better results for everyone. So thinner spreading in all areas, including wealthier areas, sounds like a good idea.

Minasama · Yesterday 09:55

Yes but this is a good idea since it has been unfair on working class people to house them in working class areas, then call working class people racist for complaining about them.
Let’s see how tolerant and not racist the middle classes are now they have to put up with them. I suspect they might also soon be lining up behind measures to limit asylum seekers instead of devoting their energies to calling everyone else racist.

I will never forget being denounced by the mother of four children in private school when I complained that most of the mums at our state primary spoke different languages so it was hard to make friends.

You need experience of things before you condemn others for complaining about them.

But the truth is that they are coming illegally. I mean, I would love to move to Norway as they have such a great standard of living. But there is just one problem…

Quite

I applaud this decision. It's easy for people in the wealthier areas to have bleeding hearts when they aren't crammed around these people, who are shoved into areas that are already overcrowded and underfunded.
Ultimately I dont want anyone coming in, illegal or not; my only caveat is if they already have qualifications for roles we need filling, e.g health, caring, education.

Another goady wind-up thread.

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · Yesterday 10:38

I think the issue which they have a problem with is I frastructure. It's fine housing them but 1000 bored men hanging around a village of 500 people with nothing to do except a pub and a post office is asking for trouble. But putting them in wealthy parts of cities is expensive, so they end up using up scant facilities in poor areas while people living in wealthy areas of cities are not impacted at all.

What decision? Nothing has been decided yet, so not sure what you're applauding.

Pure virtue signalling

Or how about perhaps people in other countries should put their energy into improving their own areas instead of relying on other nations to support them ?

Agreed OP.

There are two threads on this topic already and they are surprisingly full of common sense posts. The “racist” remarks are so boring now they aren’t even worth engaging with. Thousands,if not millions of people across the country including migrants like me agree with you.

I don’t mind if there are people who want Labour’s accommodation nearby which tends to be mass barracks. If it could be where they are.

Otherwise people should be able to say no not here.

You do sound like my 17 year child, who is in fact addicted to tik tok, so you get the comments you deserve. Calling people love without their permission doesn’t make you sound any smarter. You sound like a rude, virtue signalling teenager.

Rizzz · Yesterday 11:23

If the UK has to house them then there's no reason why the leafy village NIMBYs shouldn't take their share.

I'm much too old for tiktok but I'd rather sound like your 17 year old than like you by the sound of it.

My own 17 year old is quite clever and can express an argument without using hackneyed and meaningless phrases like 'virtue signalling'. Not sure to whom I am signalling on an anonymous forum anyway.
