I agree with this. There is zero reason why wealthier areas shouldn’t take undesirable government accommodation - be that As, prisons, care homes, whatever. I can’t think what serious argument they could have that it should be another area instead of theirs

I have to agree, it's wrong but most of us will do whatever we can to defend our own territory. Those with more money/power/social capital have a greater ability to defend their territory. So the leafy areas get more leafy and the shit areas get more shitty

Perhaps house them in areas where people voted for the Green Party, because they do support more migration and open borders.

We have a good number of asylum seekers and refugees starting over 10 years ago when Syria fell, we had an excess of family homes (cheap Northern town).
Because we have a lot of families as well as singles, the newcomers have engaged well with local communities so the singles don't stick out, and we have also made an effort as a town.
We're a marginal seat, currently Labour, and I'd say it's been a success. Certainly Angry People On FB are more likely to complain about travellers or feckless youth so it doesn't seem to get locals riled up.
