Andy Burnham just doesn't get it does he, we don't want anymore migrants/illegals put anywhere not in rich or poor areas we want to stop them coming here full stop.

Why is it needed? The rant. They can do their bit and feel great. Have mass accommodation nearby to them and be happy.

I am a Northerner myself, and it can also be patronising up there as well. TBH I think it's more of a social class thing.

Middle class women hate it everywhere but they are a bit more accepting of it up North.

I don’t mind if people are keen to have the housing or mass accommodation nearby, it’s up to them.

I do question what they’d do if in a town such as Piddington faced with the barracks whether they would be in 4% who would be ok.

We already have a number of families (not sure about single men, they are around but I think in HMOs) in a barracks locally. We are coping fine thanks.
But we also coped when the barracks were full of squaddies. Also mainly young men away from home.
The difference is they had something to do. Maybe that's what Piddington needs, get the drill sergeant to come and stay.

Yes how will the area be ruined? The men won't be in the village proper. As a pp says, they will be managed onsite, with transport provided for trips to the nearest town.

A three bedroom house in your area will soon be a lot less than £450k once they move in. All it takes is one or two and you instantly become a less desirable area, exactly like we have already in the working class areas.
