Civil unrest, what's really going on?

My DH keeps chirping up with, there's riots here, protests there, immigrants have done assaults in xxx etc. He sees me as a bit of a do-gooder..

All UK places, but when I look at my regular news, there's very little reporting of it.

My DH has some MH issues currently and to confront him with 'what the heck are you reading?' isn't worth it right now.
I make comments such as, ooh that sounds grim and doesn't sound good, and that's very worrying, but I'd really like to know if it's really happening and where he's getting this info.

It's funny how the male prisons are full of people of non british heritage here in the UK then isn't it.

Because it happens with white men too. Because it happens so much with white men that it isn't even news, and there will never be an enquiry about it, but if we stop and think about it for even five minutes we all know it.

After the recent lifting of the government super-injunction, I absolutely believe the government is strongly pressuring the media to not report incidents involving migrants, or leaving out ‘sensitive’ details at the very least. I believe the civil service even told off Robert Jenrick for talking about it.
Some of our politicians, the media, us - we’re all being lied to and silenced. This isn’t democracy any more. Tensions are very much on the rise.

And at home getting abused more frequently.

Wake up to what? That we have a violent male issue. We always have. Women have been shouting it for centuries.

It’s the same as the uproar when an early release offender offends again. It’s not because the impact on the victim is any different, but because decisions were actively taken by the government which allowed them to offend when they could’ve decided not to.

We won't even put them in prison because of the quota used to let rapists walk free plus we have a society that believes rapists over victims.

The government have acted to ensure that white men are not held to account and can continue to abuse and rape without any consequences. Yes white men are from a highly misogynistic country where women are treated as cattle.

Maybe I'm missing something, and I admit I don't know what MH is, but the obvious question is, why don't you ask where he heard something, saying you'd be interested, too.

This simply isn’t true. Of course men of all races and ethnic groups commit rape, but you are either ignorant or lying if you pretend that all ethnic groups do so at the same rate.

Non-UK citizens are 71% more likely to be have been convicted of a sexual offence than UK citizens. That’s not a statistic you can explain away with wishy washy claims of underreporting.

The quota is part of that problem. Women report but are ignored because of the quota.

Also the main perpetrators of sexual assaults on children are not white men or immigrants.

Unfortunately we seem to be ruled by people without an understanding of basic physics that a child could grasp. The sort of people who, if the bath was overflowing, would grab a powerhose and start directing it in as well.

Of course not, and in fact, the opposite is true. Foreign rapists are actually more likely to be released early - allegedly so they can be deported, but as we deport basically no one, in reality they just get sent to immigration detention for a few months and then bailed.

crimes are listed by area in police records, available online, however very few crimes are reported at the actual time, even rapes and murders are rarely reported. The media has always been selective, reporting on a range of stories, not on repetitive ones. That is just not how it works. There are 500 murders and more than half a million rapes in the UK every year, just being a murder or rape is not newsworthy. I don't think there is any great conspiracy to hide crimes, it is just normal not to report most of them

Where would you rather live and why - the UK or Afghanistan?

The most logical solution to this is to impose far tougher immigration restrictions on men compared to women. It is very rare for women to commit violent crimes. Allowing more women into the country would also mean that the UK would be doing more to help the most vulnerable people.

I wish.

I mean, in my own personal Fantasy Land that would absolutely happen. Just deport all the men.

We don't need to be looking askance at new arrivals to the country, to root out the rapists. We have plenty here already, all home grown. Deport the fucking lot of them.

Unfortunately we can't. So we pretend that the entire problem is down to immigration. Like no woman or girl ever got raped by a British man. Instead of recognising that the problem is men, misogyny and violence, and that if we allow violent, angry, noisy men to shape our political narrative we will be actively making things worse for ourselves.

The quota that the CPS admitted to. Not a claim. CPS admitted to it. Baroness Chakrabarti reported on it.

Take 10 men to court and convict 1 = 10% conviction rate. Take 1 man to court and convict 1 = 100% conviction rate. Easy way to raise the conviction rates.

Cases have been thrown out because of it and all had strong evidence. Mine included. My rapist confessed. For some there was film footage etc.

Also, have you actually read your last sentence? Did you mean to put a ‘not’ in their somewhere? Otherwise, you seem to be implying that non-white British citizens must be the biggest rapists, given that you rule out white men and immigrants…

The media won't report it because of the risk of civil unrest, innocent people get hurt when things turn nasty. And they can very fast.

This weekend there were protests in Germany, Spain, France, Poland, UK.

It's not just us but a European issue .
