Civil unrest, what's really going on?

Sadworld23 · 03/08/2025 17:02

My DH keeps chirping up with, there's riots here, protests there, immigrants have done assaults in xxx etc. He sees me as a bit of a do-gooder..

All UK places, but when I look at my regular news, there's very little reporting of it.

My DH has some MH issues currently and to confront him with 'what the heck are you reading?' isn't worth it right now.
I make comments such as, ooh that sounds grim and doesn't sound good, and that's very worrying, but I'd really like to know if it's really happening and where he's getting this info.

I would agree with that recognition but there's men coming from cultures that aren't like that too and far righters don't like acknowledging that they aren't all of that culture, just like they pretend they are all men - I saw footage of illegals on beaches this morning and there's was many women and children. They are not all male predators as intelligence should tell you!

Genuine refugees aren’t all male no! But the non genuine ones seem to be - you know, the ones who destroy all their passports before they arrive here. Nobody minds genuine refugees, it’s the ones pretending to be refugees - all young men, all undocumented with no women and children in tow. Nobody knows who the hell they are because they have no documentation. Why aren’t people understanding that it’s THOSE people, not genuine refugee families and genuine refugee women and children that people are up in arms about! It’s the thousands upon thousands of undocumented ones that are arriving here every day that people are worried about. I’m sick of people labelling concerned members of the public ‘far righters’ and to be fair, it’s old and doesn’t wash anymore.

I literally live in Warwickshire. There are no protests going on about asylum seekers, immigration whatsoever.

This post feels like a disingenuous attempt to stir up shit on behalf of Reform.

How is the fact 2 x 12yo female children have been raped by men who aren’t natives stirring up hatred? I won’t apologize that two children’s lives being destroyed upsets your narrative. Stating the truth doesn’t automatically make people a reform voter. Some of us are mothers of daughters and are genuinely upset by what is becoming a trend from men who shouldn’t be here.

Cheverel Street is a residential road in Nuneaton with terraced houses and parked cars on both sides. There are speed bumps in the road. The houses have gardens with low walls outside. There are lampposts and hedges.

This is what everyone is up in arms about and why there’s so many protests. They aren’t genuine refugees, they are young men coming here on boats, destroying all their documents and then being put up in hotels and being allowed to freely walk about on our streets raping young girls and hanging about in gangs in children’s parks, following women and making them feel uncomfortable! There are landlords being offered big sums of money to kick out their tenants and convert the houses into HMOs to accommodate these people! It’s beyond a bloody joke! Yet we still get the bleeding hearts on here claiming genuinely worried people are ‘far right racists’ and ‘nazi scum’ while dismissing, denying and gaslighting people by saying these men are genuine refugees.

This thread, of course is to highlight the fact that the mainstream media refuse to report on these incidents because it suits the government’s left wing narrative that we should just accept them into the country with bleeding hearts. This is why you don’t know what’s been happening because it’s being covered up by mainstream media and the only line they ever spew is ‘far right’ protests this and ‘far right thugs’ that!

Its not far right racist thugs it’s genuine members of the public who are concerned for their children’s safety

The only consolation in all this is that Labour will undoubtedly lose the next election. We are not as stupid as the govt seems to believe.

MH - mental health, including paranoia in his case so confrontation, even, did you manage to get the bread? is likely to be met with rage so it's tricky.

I don't normally watch terrestrial TV but we are in a holiday house with Sky and it starts on Bbc1 when you turn it on.

I get my news from alot of online sources.
NYT is my favourite, but guardian is a bit more measured. I do read GBnews but not a fan..
I like the Guardian for it's range of news. Certainly don't get the same sensational nonsense you get with tabloids.

So back to the question. It would seem there is a lot of civil unrest, and under reporting. This concerns me, censorship isn't usually a good thing and allows mischief to thrive until it explodes.
I will continue to listen to the DH, BC it seems his sources are accurate, even if the intent behind them is negative .

Whilst I have sympathy for immigrants of any creed, colour or sex/age. If you commit crimes here, you do not get to stay imo😚. Or if we incarcerate here, deport on release.

It does appear that housing immigrants in large groups is worsening the issue, or is that just my perception? Be interested to read study on this.

We may find it’ll keep being under reported due to the online safety bill. Illegal migration is to be targeted by censorship from the bill so I expect us to know less as time goes on.

Mumofnarnia · 04/08/2025 12:33

UsernameCreateded · 04/08/2025 12:27

Absolutely. I’m not on social media (unless you count mumsnet), so I haven’t seen anything about this at all. The information I’ve gathered was from reading some of the thread. I can’t believe it’s not in mainstream news.

I thought the issue from part of what I’ve read on here was men (with identification) were coming here from a country - again verified, being allowed to walk streets before asylum was granted and cause harm to British citizens. I also assumed before asylum could be granted that they’d do as detailed a possible background check on them and it would be very hard to be granted asylum. But obviously that must not be something that happens if they don’t even know who they really are or where they’re from. And then I thought issue would also be if not granted, they’re supporting each other to live here as illegal immigrants since they’re roaming and can go anywhere and can cause more harm.

So basically doing the things mentioned, but I assumed we knew who they were and where from even if nothing else about them. But obviously I’d got that wrong, which makes it all the worse!!

There are changes that need to happen immediately, with further changes over the next few weeks. If there’s not an announcement soon I can imagine there being a protest large enough calling for a new election that’ll surely make the news!

Fully expecting Reform to comment on this situation with what they want to do over next day or two, which will make more people aware too in mainstream media.

Edited

And this is the issue. The government, instead of acknowledging the issue, are just dismissing everyone’s concerns and being ‘far right racist thugs’. They are in denial and are gaslight everyone into believing people are just racist. Genuine refugees yes fine, but allowing thousands upon thousands of undocumented young males to cross the English Channel and accepting them with open arms into hotels, feeding them etc all with tax payers money and then dismissing genuine concerns of the public, making the mainstream media cover it up is something else.

You may not be on social media but you definitely have access to internet as you’re posting on here so I’d advise you to do some google research to see the extent of what’s actually happening here in the UK because it’s not what you may have thought. The BBC/ ITV/ Sky etc won’t report on it unfortunately.

Definitely! I sincerely hope that by the time the next election arrives, that it’s not too late by then.

FlyMeSomewhere · 04/08/2025 12:36

UsernameCreateded · 04/08/2025 12:05

No! I had no idea. That’s absolutely shocking! I can barely believe it. Whose bright idea was it to do it that way?! That urgently needs changing and I certainly hope there’s an announcement declaring they need documentation immediately going forward…..

Are you a spoof? Asylum seekers don't have documents, if they had passports and was willing to use them, they could fly hear legally like any other traveller! They want to claim asylum and arriving illegally is how they do it. There isn't going to be an announcement because they wouldn't abide by it. The only way to stop this is by stopping them getting to mainland Europe. But being as we aren't in the EU anymore we aren't privvy to much in the way of plans or resource.

Why is illegal immigration on there?
I voted Labour and wish I didn’t. But I feel I’ve voted for them but not got what it said on the tin. Amongst people I know, nobody feels they’ve done what they expected them to do.
Between not voting and Reform next time. I don’t agree with everything they say, but they can’t be said for any party.

No. I just don’t follow it or know how it works. I’ve clearly made wrong assumptions.

And since many are upset, surely they have to make an announcement? They’ll only be more protests

NidaNearby · 04/08/2025 12:37

FlyMeSomewhere · 04/08/2025 12:06

But I'm not, without Brexit this wouldn't ever have happened! The Tories literally did a press conference telling people they were opening up vacancies to the wider world - give it a Google if you don't believe me! We were left with recruitment crises because of Brexit. You need to own it if you voted for it no matter how painful you find your truth. We didn't have this issue at this scale before Brexit!

None of this is ‘because of Brexit.’

It was a specific choice that Boris Johnson’s government made, entirely separate to the Brexit process and against the expressed wishes of their voters.

You are confusing correlation with causation.

Labour have reduced the number of hotels used for asylum seekers by at least half and they've done that by ramping up processing and deportations, they've gone what you voted for but it's a long winded battle. Reform won't be in the general election, Nigel Farage has always refused to run for PM, he exploited racists to vote for Brexit to protect offshore tax havens. He won't have any money or clout or any idea how to deal with the problem that his Brexit created! There's no instant fix to Brexit swinging this door wide open and creating millions of vacancies that these illegals are needed to fill - something for those who hate benefit reforms to think about!

So you’re mostly coming at this from a pro Labour angle. Private rentals are being used instead anyway.

Oh give it a rest with your conspiracy theories! Labour have not done what they’ve said on the tin! They’ve screwed over farmers, businesses, hiked taxes! The illegal immigration saga and promises of ‘smash the gangs’ are empty promises!

Reducing migrant hotels have they? Yet 100s more are coming in by the boatload every day and being given hotels and free food at the taxpayers expense! So it’s basically one out and a few hundred more in! So where are they all going then? Newly opened to the migrants Britiannia Hotel in Canary Wharf? Or paying landlords to kick out their tennants and converting houses into HMOs to keep them here?

Did you not know this?

They dump their documents.

Thats how 30 year old men end up pretending to be 15 year old boys and end up in foster homes and in schools. They look like 30 year old men, they act like 30 year old men, but the excuse is that stress ages them. Question it and you are a right wing racist.

And it's also "against their human rights" to determine their age from their teeth apparently

AliasGrace47 · 04/08/2025 12:54

Mydogisatool · 04/08/2025 11:13

The line that’s trotted out time and time again is that the men are leaving them there so they can come to the U.K, as that’s the second language they can speak and might also have family here, set up a life and then send for their families.

Which is frankly, bollocks. Would your husband or son leave you and your young children and older relatives in danger while they stood outside hotels smoking and making comments to young girls? No, no they wouldn’t.

Oh, and the poor things all seem to lose their documents on the way! Such bad luck.

It’s all such bullshit and I’m really glad the tide seems to be turning against it.

Edited

It is true tho that lots of people do that if they're economic migrants. Obvs refugees don't do this. Another sign many of these men are economic migrants

So say Farage got in and he reckons everything will be different and he’ll stop it all/send them back. Can he legally do that?

bacause the tories couldn’t get Rwanda planes off the ground when the courts said it was illegal. Will Farage just change the law? Surely it’s not that simple or Pritti Patel would have done so.

Because the tories wouldnt leave the European court of human rights, farage says he will

Brexit got rid of all the European workforce for low and unskilled work! Who else is going to do that work? Nobody on benefits wants to come off and do it! That's why we we can't just mass deport because we actually need labour! We also lost our right to return people to France! Brexit created the jobs and one way system for these people! Look at the social care recruitment crisis and the bed blocking in hospitals as a result, who do you think is going to fill those jobs that were once done by EU workers?

Robinson is definitely a thug & had a record separate to his beliefs about politics. But honestly, watch the documentary. You don’t have to commit to believing it, or even like him. But it’s unarguable and jaw dropping.

We need to stop immigration. I don't care at all about Tommy Robinson, I think he should be ignored. The key issue :immigration stop, dangerous migrants sent back, MUST be dealt with.
