They're using the tragedy of what happened in stockport to kick off.
They're attacking mosques even though the murderer was a Christian who was born in the UK.
It's disgraceful. It's just using a horrific thing that happened to release their racist views

NashvilleQueen · 03/08/2024 21:37

They're not protesters. They are violent thugs who are using an appalling tragedy to commit criminal damage and have a few fights.

AgnesX · 03/08/2024 21:48

The weather and not enough to keep them occupied.

Half wits (and yeah I know some of them actually aren't so are complete and utter shits).

Ovenon · 03/08/2024 21:49

The excuse is Southport

Fgfgfg · 03/08/2024 21:57

They've been looking for an excuse for a while. Did we see them out on the streets when three white women were murdered by a white man with a crossbow? No, because that didn't fit their narrative. Unfortunately it all kicked off before they found out that the Southport perpetrator wasn't a Muslim but still he's black and his parents weren't born here so that's almost as good a reason. A lot of those rioting probably don't even know that he was raised Christian.

WittyFatball · 03/08/2024 21:58

They're not protestors, they're fascists.

Ratherbeaspoonthanafork · 03/08/2024 21:58

Absolute idiots and racist scum.

I've just been reading about this on Sky app. It's scary, how is Keir going to get it all under control?

ilovesooty · 03/08/2024 22:02

Someone will doubtless arrive soon to tell you that they're "expressing concerns". 🙄

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 03/08/2024 22:02

They remind me of the old-school football hooligans - going to a match meant having a fight against the 'enemy'. Except the police are the enemy here (or Muslims, immigrants, whatever. Take your pick) and I don't remember this sort of damage to property and looting.

You mean Southport.

THIS!

Echobelly · 03/08/2024 22:05

It's happening because social media is allowing them to organise while being cheered on by people like Elon Musk who have no understanding of what happened but want to get on a bandwagon, and outright racist liars like Farage and Katie Hopkins.

The goods news is that these people are all morons and putting film of themselves all over social media and won't cover their faces because they associate that with Covid, which they don't believe in, so will be very easy to arrest

"even though the murderer was a Christian who was born in the UK."

At this stage, he is a 'suspect' and your comment is prejudicial.

We also don't know the suspect's religion because that hasn't been disclosed by the police or CPS.

Cheesecakelunch · 03/08/2024 22:06

They're violent racist thugs plain and simple.
Terrifying and I wish people would stop calling them protesters.

winstinsandgins · 03/08/2024 22:06

I have stopped watching the news because it is frankly depressing that this is all going on.
Awful that they have decided to utilise 3 children being killed as their apparent excuse. The supposed killer is Christian, not Muslim. What were the police supposed to have done to stop him?
They were gagging for a fight. Nothing to do with Southport but Southport gave them an excuse in their opinion.
I think a lot of things have combined to make an awful lot of people selfish rude and lacking empathy. So many people just seem to get angry and be unreasonable at the drop of a hat. Madness

ShouldhavebeencalledAppollo · 03/08/2024 22:07

I think the spark for this latest occurrences of riots was harehills.which was then inflamed by the stabbing of the army personnel, in which the perpetrators face was covered for a while then the story just disappeared. The the Southport stabbings inflamed it further.

People saw thugs rioting and not being challenged by the police. Then nights of disruption in the area being allowed, as an attempt to blackmail Social Services to give children back to a family who wasn’t looking after their children properly.

The media was a bit more (not much) more sympathetic when talking about harehills.

It gave this set of thugs as excuse. And they probably got more support as plenty of normal people are pissed off about various issues. Plenty of people in harehills (not just white people) feel that certain communities get away with certain things that others wouldn’t. It’s been simmering for years. So it doesn’t take a lot for the EDL type thugs to feel braver about their riots.

The country has a real problem and it’s getting to boiling point. I am genuinely concerned.

I heard his speech. As for the stats - this government has only been in power for four weeks. Are you claiming that all was well prior to the election?

EasternStandard · 03/08/2024 22:12

Covering it on Times Radio atm so much disorder
