Riot Summer.

maudelovesharold · 03/08/2024 22:36

They aren’t protests, they’re highly orchestrated right-wing ‘events’ piggy-backing on the awful murders in Southport, carried out by a British citizen who happens to be black. In the tiny minds of these right-wing thugs, that means he becomes the embodiment of all immigrants, people of colour and Moslems, who are all the same as far as the right are concerned and responsible for 100% of crime in the UK. Facts and truth are not a priority for the far right, nor do they have the intellectual capacity to understand anything more complex than the single theme narrative going on in their dulled brains.

ReadyTeddy1000 · 03/08/2024 21:24

They're using the tragedy of what happened in stockport to kick off.
They're attacking mosques even though the murderer was a Christian who was born in the UK.
It's disgraceful. It's just using a horrific thing that happened to release their racist views

Southport, not Stockport.

Lilysgoneshopping · 03/08/2024 22:39

The horror is Southport has been the catalyst for this. But it's been brewing for a long time. The Manchester airport incident, the pro Palestine protests calling for death to all Jews , the rioting in Leeds. The 2 tier policing. This is just the recent stuff. The authorities need to get a grip, and by that I mean get a grip on everyone, not selecting who and what they will police

Southport, not Stockport.

Other people have pointed that out and she has apologised, read the bloody thread.

People are angry.
I understand why.
Angry people protest.

So people are angry that a crime has been committed.
So they go out and commit crimes.
Please explain.

Apologies. I admit am guilty of not reading an entire thread before I reply because I lose the post that I’d be replying to. I’m not good at multitasking!

Namechangejust · 03/08/2024 22:45

Just thick people who have absolutely nothing to offer society …am sure they get more benefits than any immigrants ,without any contribution to our tax system!!

Cherandcheralike · 03/08/2024 22:48

Like it or not there are a lot of working class people who have been massively disenfranchised over the last few decades. Combine it with how divisive social media has been and it was bound to boil over eventually.

Personally I'm hoping it's the kick up the backside we need to realise that we need to get on and stop allowing intolerance from all sides.

Lwrenn · 03/08/2024 22:48

These people have been simmering under the surface just waiting for the opportunity to cause chaos and attack people of colour.
They dont give a single fuck about those beautiful little girls who were murdered.
They're just disgusting monsters who want to get pissed up, coked up and kick off. Stupid people in large numbers being cunts.
I've seen videos shared of these thugs jumping on cars containing people and children of colour as they're having crowds shout "kill them". My DP went to a counter protest to the rioting tonight and had to help a young woman who was being dragged to the floor by men because she had a anti racism sign. Funny they didn't go for him. Just a wee lass.

If this rioting had been done in the name of something else such as austerity, with no violence to others but maybe some angry marches around town halls etc and you could argue it was a group of disenfranchised people unable to cope with the uncertainty of needing to use food banks or fear of the nhs going, I'd be able to maybe get my head around the anger.

But this?! Attacking mosques? Setting fire to police vans? Calling for the slaughter of Muslim children who are just in the car with their parent trying to get home? Each and every single one of those fucking idiots needs arresting and rehabilitation on how to behave like a human and not a fucking monster. I've seen videos of women being screamed theyre a cunt and spat at. I've read on here Muslim women, women who do more for our society than these gobshites ever will, are to scared to leave their homes.
How fucking dare these scumbags make people feel so scared to leave their homes?! How fucking dare they.

They're fucking idiots who follow some stupid Tommy Robinson type scum social media pages and are crying about patriotism when setting fucking fire to the country they allegedly love. Nope, not having it. They're violent thugs with more hatred in them than intelligence.
The real "patriots" are the ones who'll be out these following weeks rebuilding and cleaning up the things these fuckers have broken.

(Sorry I'm particularly sweary today)

Some of our posts were almost a x post.
Been here years and never had one before!

Thank you.
And in response to another poster, I can understand you being hurt when me and another poster said Stockport in error - apologies again.
It's not that I can't be bothered to get the name right - I've never been to either place, and know very little about English geography and regions etc, it was simply misremembering the town name. X

I think the spark for this latest occurrences of riots was harehills.which was then inflamed by the stabbing of the army personnel, in which the perpetrators face was covered for a while then the story just disappeared. The the Southport stabbings inflamed it further.

People saw thugs rioting and not being challenged by the police. Then nights of disruption in the area being allowed, as an attempt to blackmail Social Services to give children back to a family who wasn’t looking after their children properly.

The media was a bit more (not much) more sympathetic when talking about harehills.

It gave this set of thugs as excuse. And they probably got more support as plenty of normal people are pissed off about various issues. Plenty of people in harehills (not just white people) feel that certain communities get away with certain things that others wouldn’t. It’s been simmering for years. So it doesn’t take a lot for the EDL type thugs to feel braver about their riots.

The country has a real problem and it’s getting to boiling point. I am genuinely concerned.

Edited

I think the children were returned?

Persiancouscous · 03/08/2024 22:59

What makes you assume it's EDL? People have had enough of the bias discrimination. The PM has said he is giving police powers to protect the public from "extremists" which is equally funny as I don't remember him doing that 2 weeks ago when Leeds was burning or the other times protesters have unacceptably gone turbo.

Again Manchester airport police officer was accused of being racist and protests broke out. Floyd affect were statues were torn down and police were told not to get involved.

There certainly isn't equality going on. Have 3 BAME girls got stabbed by a white guy the streets would also be burning and rightly so. People are angry at the inequality taking place.

People are quick to jump on the bandwagon about racist police brutality but when the tables turn the other way they are called stupid and thick.

No wonder everyone is losing their heads.

I'm a Sikh, Indian woman.
A white old English man in his 70's attacked me after his wife came into my garden to sing "go back home" etc to me. Lived here for over 10 years, they've always given me dirty looks which I guessed was due to me not being white. Don't care about that, wouldn't have 2 words to say to people like them anyway. However, I'm sure these riots emboldened them to attack me. They are lucky I'm not going to hit old people, I just blocked the attack and reported to the police. I'm sure these riots and heatwave made these two disgusting people show how much venom they had against me.

Yeah this is where I am at. I think they’ll do the usual - try to squash it & ignore until it pops up again in 5-10 years, while acting very surprised it inevitably happened again

That's an interesting post and I can't argue with the perception of two-tier policing. I also think you're right that there would be race riots if it were black girls murdered by a random white man.

I'm not sure these are the reasons why we're seeing riots though.

As far as I'm aware there haven't even been any 'objectives' made public. It just appears to be football hooligans enjoying a day out and smashing the place up.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope that you can get a restraining order or something so that they won't feel free to come into your garden and attack and abuse you. WTF is the matter with some people that they think it's ok to behave like this?

"Two tier policing" Hey Tommy, come get your boy.

Another riot happened only a couple of weeks ago, with burning cars/buses and smashed up streets, and there was absolute crickets about it on here. Fine - nobody is compelled to discuss anything they don’t want to. But you can’t then blub when people query why that very same incident received virtually no press or MN attention, along with police arriving 3 hours late to the incident and the PM looking the other way, when these equally brainless events have inspired a specialist task force set up by the prime minister and a very robust and vocal police response.

I would be VERY interested to see any direct replies to the above, not just crying about how mean I am or some shit like that?
