All these awful EDL protests- why are they suddenly happening? Whats kicking them all off? One in Bristol today is scary.

I knew who was responsible for the Southport attack prior to the media release and knew the kid wasn't the name that was "accidentally released". The hatred that has been stirred up towards the Muslim community is one of the most evil things I've seen.

I strongly suspect they are trying to undermine Labour’s government, which shows they don’t really care about their country as they say, as this is clearly a competent government.

Last night our local library was set on fire...it has just been refurbished after a long wait for funds. Absolute scum attacking local communities in residential areas, scaring people. We need to stand up to racist bullies. Many of the people who attacked my community last night were not locals. The locals were the ones out later cleaning up our streets.

From the videos, it looks like the destruction on County Rd was feral hood rat teenagers. Most of them looked age 12-15. They’ve been emboldened by the far-right and now they’re getting a slice of hooliganism for themselves. It’s like a cancer that’s spreading. If they were smashing up London suburbs the army would be brought in, like in 2011. This is much worse, and nothing is being done.

I don't think it was very competent of Keir Starmer to say he would protect the Muslim community whilst not addressing the very real concerns some working class communities have about immigration. This is a big issue, which Labour must not ignore. In Belfast yesterday, opposing factions marched together against untrammelled immigration, which has never happened before.

There were groups gathering along our street in the late afternoon, uniform combat shorts, middle age men usual look with non local accents. Mainly broader Manchester and Southern accents heard (though I'm not great at placing accents, definitely not Scouse though). Not saying no locals joined in with them, but in my opinion orchestrated by non locals.
The people who joined in locally should be ashamed at attaching our community. We are proud to be a multi cultured city. Last night scared our children and destroyed our hard fought for community resources.

(At the risk of going seriously off topic, I don't consider this government to be competent. They banned new North Sea drilling licences 24 hours before the National Grid announced that we'd need gas for much longer than previously thought. They're ideology over reality in multiple areas.)
