All these awful EDL protests- why are they suddenly happening? Whats kicking them all off? One in Bristol today is scary.

What are you saying? They are using the murders in Stockport by a Briton who was born in Wales and lives not far from Stockport and who is not known to be an Islamic extremist as an excuse for Fascist thuggery, looting, and violence.

When the weather is nice, normal people think about having a barbecue, a picnic, or going to the beach. These numbskulls decide to have a riot - it's a day out for them, they enjoy it.

I saw a comment on Twitter from one of these idiots saying they were doing it because they wanted their children to grow up feeling safe. I'm sure the poor children trying to sleep whilst knuckle-draggers set fire to cars, throw bricks, and make animal noises outside feel really, really safe.

I don't know but it's terrifying. Some if the footage on social media is so shocking. Gangs of white men hunting down Asian and black men and beating them up in the street. What the hell is going on? So many violent, racist thugs.

But just to add, I remember similar riots when Cameron government was new.
I hate the Tories.
But racist twunts look for weaknesses to exploit, I think. And a new government of whatever colour represents a potential weakness.

It's very easy to simply say "They are thick, racist thugs" - as if that's going to solve anything. It virtue signals - you are NOT a racist thug... - but goes no further.
Why weren't these people rioting five years ago? What about the way the Southport attacks were handled and reported contributed to this? Who is behind it and what do they gain? Follow the money... Winners and losers.....

A lot of people will just elaborate with their own entrenched views but it's not going to be that simple. And I really, really hope that there are people with some brains in power somewhere who can sort this out.

It's bloody Southport. At least respect our grieving town enough to get its name right. It's really not hard.

Don't underestimate the impact of the recent heat. Disorderly behaviour has historically been much more common during heatwaves. (Obviously what others have said too though.)

Sadly the horrifically sad attack in Southport was the trigger but this is likely to run and be less about that

I think it’s also to do with protests against the prosecution of Tommy Robinson. He has disappeared abroad when he is wanted in court.
