The chat appears to have gone quiet today after the last thread filled up, so I'm making a new one for anyone who wants to come together whilst we all hold our breath hoping for a good outcome.

Do we know what else is now being done

Haven't seen the news properly today
Do we have any updates?

MaggieFS · 11/02/2023 16:46

It got taken down my mn, I didn't see what was said as it was after I went to bed, but I assume libellous speculation.

I'd be happy to continue to chat around the facts. I'm a similar demography to Nicola and I'm horrified that someone can just vanish.

TheHauntedPencilCase · 11/02/2023 16:49

Sorry I've tagged the wrong person so have reported my post. Should have been @ofwarren I think

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 11/02/2023 16:50

The last one was pulled overnight, I don’t know why but given that Nicola’s husband did that interview last night it was probably people making nasty comments about him.

gwenstifado · 11/02/2023 16:53

I'm really sick of hearing all the theories against him. Imagine being in that position. There are some truly stupid, horrible people on social media.

Batcountry8 · 11/02/2023 16:53

Let's hope this thread can remain a respectful balance of simple discussion about the case.

A woman, a mum is missing.

ofwarren · 11/02/2023 16:55

Thanks for the new thread
Hopefully the derailers leave this one alone

Daisymaker · 11/02/2023 16:57

Still no news , how the hell are they managing to get through each day?

Goldpaw · 11/02/2023 16:57

I reported a lot of posts on the other thread and I think others did the same, so it probably set off the big alarms at Mumsnet HQ!!!

You must have got them out of bed Grin

They said it automatically pulls the thread after lots of reports. This is why night watch should have more power to be able to read the reports

Suzi888 · 11/02/2023 17:07

Thanks for the thread. I think it’s important this is kept in the news etc or it’s going to go cold and slip away.

Pray she is found- those poor girls.

I haven’t watched to documentary, presumably from what’s being said PA says she’s not in the river, why do the police insist she is? Do they know things the public aren’t allowed to know? (I guess they do but, PA thinks otherwise).

How much longer can this level of interest be sustained…

plumduck · 11/02/2023 17:08

I imagine the police are keeping the family updated. Just there's nothing more to tell the public.

crocusfocus · 11/02/2023 17:18

Those poor girls , another day they have to endure not knowing. Just beyond heartbreaking

TokyoSushi · 11/02/2023 17:19

Thanks for the new thread.

InFiveMins · 11/02/2023 17:20

I feel so sad for her loved ones. Every day must feel like a nightmare.

Unsure33 · 11/02/2023 17:26

Sorry if this has been answered , but
does anyone know if after the dog was tied up with string , did any other dog walkers spot it ?
has the tatty red van been found ?
was Nicola known to have suffered from depression at all ?
wonder why the police asked him to drive home rather than meet him where she went missing ?
were her keys definitely in the car ?
did the woman who found willow explain why she did not ring the number on the dog tag ?

Daffodilsandtuplips · 11/02/2023 17:29

I w been following the threads but not contributed before now. Some of the comments on here and other social media outlets after last nights interview were utterly libellous. It’s no wonder the thread was pulled.

melonraspberry · 11/02/2023 17:30

Thanks for the new thread.

i was thinking today that what could (must ?) have happened is after the field they went through the gate to the bench, she put her phone on the bench so she could hear the meeting, and started to put the harness back onto Willow as she is only normally off the lead in the fields which are enclosed . Naturally she must have had her back
to the gate and someone surprised her and forced her back that way. This seems as likely as ‘she fell in the water’ so I can’t understand why it’s not being given equal weighting. It explains the position of the phone and the harness being on the floor. It’s got to be someone very local so they knew a safe way to get her out.

melonraspberry · 11/02/2023 17:32

Who are nightwatch?

It wasn't pulled intentionally. The argument about suicide received a lot of reports and mumsnet pulls threads with lots of reports automatically. It wasn't done manually they said this morning.

melonraspberry · 11/02/2023 17:32

Who are nightwatch?

Volunteer staff who moderate once the paid staff go home.
They do not have access to the reports function.

Some posters were sniping at each other and mn have pulled it but not deleted it yet
