the dad is unwell, perhaps that has delayed the court?

Cantanka · 25/07/2022 11:36

Is there any update on when the judgment will be? There doesn’t appear to be a live stream but it was due at 11:30am

Hollie posted that Archie’s dad has suffered a potential heart attack, so potentially delayed due to that.

If the judge had anything about them they would ban the sharing of pictures on any public platform. That at the very least should be something that can be done.

We’re talking about a child’s best interests here, fgs schools can be prevented from publishing pictures of children who are in the care of SS. This should be the same and the pictures need to stop.

I don't think I agree. As much as I disagree with what the parents are doing and think this whole circus should be concluded a lot faster, aka they should only be entitled to one appeal and then he should be switched off fairly quickly after that,. I don't think a judge should be allowing the parents to be banned taking and Sharing photos of their own child. He may be ward of court but that's not the same as him being in care or adopted. They are still his parents and pretty soon these will be the only things they have left of him.

Butteryflakycrust83 · 25/07/2022 11:54

Looks like the hearing is adjourned as his poor Dads had a suspected heart attack.

And she still makes it about trolls.

The tragedy of this is, that should Archie survive, and breathe independently, he would have absolutely no quality of life. I have worked on a brain injury unit and believe me, there is such a thing as a fate worse than death.

I agree with this.

My mum recently died of cancer. Her last 36 hours were her just asleep (in a coma?).

She was all but dead and that was the hardest part. They used sedation and morphine if she was appearing uncomfortable but she couldn't talk or open her eyes or even respond to us.

The only bit worse was the confused state she was in just prior to this and the forever sleep was in a way it's own blessing

MrsLargeEmbodied · 25/07/2022 11:56

the poor dad,

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 25/07/2022 11:56

His dad's had a heart attack? Good grief. Poor sod, what strain he must be under.

Cantanka · 25/07/2022 12:03

That’s a real shame, I hope his father recovers well

IfIHadAHeart · 25/07/2022 12:04

And yet she’s still posting on FB and referencing trolls?! The whole thing is getting more and more out of hand. So strange.

toastofthetown · 25/07/2022 12:06

The is live now.

They’re angling for an adjournment based on Archie apparently now breathing and it needing investigating it would seem

It’s one thing taking photo’s, it’s quite another sharing them on a public platform. This child is dead. To all intents and purposes this is akin to taking pictures of someone in their dying moments and sharing them across multiple platforms.

So while I concede that they should be able to take pictures of their child, IMO it should be on the strict understanding that none of these pictures are to be shared on public platforms, and if that ruling were to be violated then they lose the right to take pictures at all.

I do understand that but I also feel if that was made a ruling where would it stop? People not allowed to share photos of their stillborns? Although I do agree I don't feel they should be Sharing certain photos, example the latest ones where he's in a Nappy, legs severely emaciated. That is horrendous and probably hurts their cause more than they realise.

The court has retired to consider an adjournment. Family say Archie would want his father to be present, and he may need to be present to give instructions (depending on the outcome of the appeal).

Guardian says the delay which would be caused by any adjournment is not in Archie’s best interests.

Court seem reluctant to adjourn especially as it’s not clear when he would be well enough to attend but they may give a short adjournment to get a clearer picture. Who knows. It seems cruel to proceed without Archie’s dad but this really does need to come to a conclusion

nolongersurprised · 25/07/2022 12:25

Thanks for the update.

Seeingadistance · 25/07/2022 12:26

No adjournment.

Seeingadistance · 25/07/2022 12:28

Permission to appeal is refused.

Cantanka · 25/07/2022 12:28

application for adjournment refused.

Permission to appeal refused on all grounds.

reasons will be given at 2pm.

Seeingadistance · 25/07/2022 12:28

Reasons to be given now.

SunflowerGardens · 25/07/2022 12:31

Blimey. The family didn't even seem surprised? Hope Archie's dad is ok bless him.

nolongersurprised · 25/07/2022 12:32

Now or at 2pm?

IfIHadAHeart · 25/07/2022 12:34

I think they are having a 10 minute break then will give the reasons for ruling.

Cantanka · 25/07/2022 12:36

nolongersurprised · 25/07/2022 12:32

Sorry I misheard. They said they will sit through lunch rather than come back after lunch. But there will be a delay so that the legal teams can take stock with their clients. Not sure how long that will end up being - they said 10 minutes initially unless people need more time (Counsel always want more time!).

Quia · 25/07/2022 12:36

As permission to appeal to the CA has been refused, that means they can't appeal to the Supreme Court. However, it looks like they will seek to have it reopened on the grounds of the evidence about Archie allegedly breathing.
