There's a video now , just an arm on a bed and a pair of hands (presume Hollie's) stroking the hand and arm, while a prayer is being said .

It looks very calm and hopefully tomorrow will be the same calm and quiet atmosphere , but not videoed for all to see.
Hopefully she will keep this last scrap of dignity and keep this private and without trauma for Archies sake
There will be time for pub;ic outpouring of grief when they bury or cremate him

Yeah they do a live prayer session every Sunday evening which is quite nice.

I don't think tomorrow will be the day, there's too much going on legally still, what's the point in forging on ahead tomorrow when it's been stalled this long so far what's another day or two until everything's sorted.

I think that's just Sky News' take on it - they've got the same Press Release as everyone else. They've simply passed the buck to the court, they don't seem to be saying that they agree with the UN.

whynotwhatknot · 31/07/2022 21:54

she sees things as truth but it snot

he hasnt squeezed her hand he hant breathed by himself andhe hasnt looked at her

this is all reflex and muscle movment but she wont accept it

I can't imagine the pain she is in and I think it's clouding her judgment - anything is better than facing reality.

But when he was initially transferred there was the suggestion of an operation which Holly perceived was then postponed by the new team to wait and see

He had a neurosurgical review with regard to whether a decompressive craniectomy ie removing part of his skull to try to reduce the pressure on his brain from his damaged and dying brain cells swelling would have helped. The neurosurgical team didn’t feel it would have helped, and an independent neurosurgical team agree with that decision.

It’s not standard care, it’s unlikely to have been promised and it’s last-ditch stuff.

Yeah I think they've just worded it awkwardly.

There hasn’t been an inconsistent clinical message

Not to us, with the benefit of lack of involvement and court case notes and newspaper reports.
But when he was initially transferred there was the suggestion of an operation which Holly perceived was then postponed by the new team to wait and see. We aren't privy to conversations and how well facts have been communicated to a very distressed family.

I just don't like the attitude that she shouldn't be using the courts or is somehow lacking dignity and grace for not accepting facts. Thank goodness we have a safety net outside absolute power within a hospital team. This isn't it, but it is essential for when abuses happen.

I am pleased with have the court system to protect the most vulnerable but this isn’t even about that. This has - rightly - gone through the process and the distressed family are posting things saying the staff are executing Archie. It’s facilitated by the twatwaffles who are the “army”. They wind her up. I am not criticising the family but rather, the CLC and the pond scum who egg on a traumatised family.

Right now pretend you've just found your son hanged and have tried to revive him, you've moved between hospitals and you've clung on to the little bit of hope that this operation you've had mentioned gave you.
The whole point of what I'm trying to get across is Holly's perception

I don't want to sound morbid, but if Archie's has technically passed away, then why isn't he decaying? His skin etc looks healthy, and surely he would smell if he wasn't alive?

Holly has previously said they (the staff) have the air conditioning on in Archie’s room and that “it’s freezing” and my first though was that they’ve done that to slow down the natural decaying process.

Ive seen video clips where there is a flash of his arm or leg but I haven’t seen any that show his face for quite some time whereas before it was common for her to do that. I imagine there’s a very good reason why she doesn’t show him fully in the videos anymore….

In this case the patient's daughter became traumatised by seeing what state she was in when she was taken to say goodbye within only around a month of brain death. It sadly gives an idea of what sort of state Archie is in by now.

Yes, of course - it's extremely unhelpful. But so far hasn't translated as far as we know into any actual threat or harm to the hospital. It's also a private group I think? (I don't know as haven't looked). I just don't like the scornful attitude and almost gleeful predictions of security and being removed from bedsides that is coming across here and elsewhere at times

I agree, and it would have been devastating. But it doesn’t exonerate her now, nearly 4 months on, saying the hospital are trying to murder him.

PomRuns · 31/07/2022 22:19

In previous cases staff have been threatened and harassed en route to work. It was very wrong to publish names. Hollie has used language that is inflammatory and it's correct to protect the HCP and other families as required.

nolongersurprised · 31/07/2022 22:39

The irony is that the medical staff are being vilified for being incompetent or whatever yet they’re being too professional to say what they think of her as well.

The harm is to Archie (who is the number one) and his family and friends. The hospital can protect itself and the staff. The harm to Archie and his family is ongoing.
