I listened to most of the speech late last night and started wondering if Giuliani is loosing it. But his weird points of view do explain why he's supporting Trump. Lost all respect for him.
As for Trump, he looked positively tamed and contrived. Uncomfortable, even. That speech was clearly written for him.
It still avoided any specifics.
I imagine that his extreme screening will be applied to Britain, France and Belgium? Does he imagine they can properly screen visa candidates? The cold war was still rife with spies and infiltrated agents, as even recently exposed.
He won't be able to deal with internal nutcases.
And he's conveniently forgotten the internal danger of (lack of) gun control.
Did he claim that NATO developed a terrorism related division because of him?
He seems to be confused over whether it's best to intervene or not. On one hand, shame on Hillary for intervening. Apparently, Libya was just fine (albeit supporting terrorists, using banned weapons in a civil war and the uprising already having a strong hold - see why Libya and not Syria).
On the other hand, shame on Obama for wanting to retrieve the troops from the death pits the previous Republican administration sent them to.
Not only he keeps lying about his position on the Iraq invasion, he is also contradicting himself on intervention in Libya (he was in favour) and troop withdrawal (also in favour).

And his "spoils to the victor" approach is just odious and likely to increase the sense of being exploited and robbed by local populations, thus increasing terrorism.
Under him it would be a (even more) clear case of how much oil we can get if we invade.
I skipped a bit towards the end, but he seems to have wisely avoided speaking of Putin.
Although he did mention Reagan to criticise Obama for his lack of moral judgement of lack of democracy somewhere.
He can seem to make sense (if he sticks to his given script), but only if you know nothing about the subject and don't read or listen to any different view points.
