The people who like Trump, like Trump.

Nothing anybody says changes their minds

Nothing he says changes their minds.

The Republicans have given themselves a bit of a problem. Never mind, it could be worse.

TwoLeftSocks · 11/08/2016 20:28

Great bloke. Smashing bloke. Just the sort of reliability, consistency and sensibility that you want in a leader of a world superpower.

I've always wanted a whole wall cinema screen, going to plan one into the bunker, we may be in there a while.

This is true. They are Post Fact and Post Common Sense like brexiters

gonetoseeamanaboutadog · 11/08/2016 20:37

How the actual fuck could it be worse?!

I do reckon he's going to be claiming to hear the voice of God soon (and I say that as a Christian)

LineyReborn · 12/08/2016 06:13

TwoLeftSocks spot on!

And I think Kitten is right and we'll be seeing evidence of some form of serious delusion.

JedRambosteen · 12/08/2016 08:34

It will be interesting to see whether co-opting God constitutes crossing the line, assuming he goes that far. The man is a vile fantasist, caught up in hos own delusions of grandeur. I am often reminded about Nietsche's quote about staring into the void when I see him on TV.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/08/2016 08:36

I thought more about what I said last night. I do wonder if he might think himself too big even for God.

JudyCoolibar · 12/08/2016 08:56

Trump"s Next Big Idea:

Either:

"Adolf Hitler has been reincarnated as Hillary"; or
"Adolf Hitler got it right, we need concentration camps for Muslims"; closely followed by "Hitler has been reincarnated as Trump".

TheDowagerCuntess · 12/08/2016 09:38

The next big idea will be someone to do with the master race.

Which won't be the indigenous people of the US, obviously. The immigrants to it.

But not the recent unpalatable immigrants.
The Mayflower-esque immigrants...

TheDowagerCuntess · 12/08/2016 09:40

*something

Lweji · 12/08/2016 09:53

A master race is more difficult to apply to the US, but they are demonising one religion and certainly trying to pass off the idea of a master country with a master leader that will bend everyone else to their will.
Hmm

Lweji · 12/08/2016 09:56

If someone depicted Trump as the Prophet Mohamed, who do you think would get more pissed off? Radical Muslims or radical Trumpists?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/08/2016 10:09

Shock Lweji! I wouldn't like to be that cartoonist!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/08/2016 13:16

so now on Fb Trump claims his assertion about Obama founding ISIS was sarcasm.

nauticant · 12/08/2016 13:28

Don't worry. Another lie will come along shortly to be left to fly if it's swallowed nicely or withdrawn under an "only joking" pretext if not.

What a sly, dishonest, and cowardly figure.

Lweji · 12/08/2016 13:43

so now on Fb Trump claims his assertion about Obama founding ISIS was sarcasm.

So, now we know claig is Trump. Wink

Let's hope is falls on his arse for all the backtracking.

Roussette · 12/08/2016 13:43

Weird OhYou . He reiterated those assertions more than once. I do wonder about his mindset. Although at the beginning of the thread I disagreed with those who said that perhaps he is sabotaging this, I am beginning to wonder if this is the case.

He's got further than he thought. He's the presidential candidate. He never imagined being President and he's now bored with it all.

This... from a few hours ago...

"Trump repeated yet again his claim that Obama is the “founder” of Isis, explaining that if the president had maintained a small force in Iraq, he could have prevented the militant group’s rise. He also reiterated his promise to build a wall on the Mexican border, adding: “We’re going to build a wall and, when someone tries to fight us, that wall gets 10ft higher.”

Lweji · 12/08/2016 13:45

His friend Giuliani must be ready to slit his wrists by now.

I'm guessing he's been mandated by the Republican party to keep Trump for trumping up his own campaign, but it's really not working well so far.

JudyCoolibar · 12/08/2016 14:35

As I've said elsewhere, I seriously doubt whether Trump actually knows what the word "sarcasm" means. If he intended to be sarcastic about Clinton and Obama having founded ISIS, that would normally mean that he was making fun of people who believe that and thinks they are stupid - which plainly isn't his position at all.

He should watch a few clips of Obama being sarcastic. He knows how to do it and he's seriously funny.
