That's ace Rousette!

nauticant · 12/08/2016 16:13

Although it's easy for us to boggle at the US over Trump, it may be that they'll not vote him in and they'll be able to say to us "well, we came to our collective senses, now, what about this Brexit thing?"

Xenophile · 12/08/2016 16:23

Can't wait to put my metaphorical X in the box, and it sure as fuck won't be for that lying racist Trump.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/08/2016 16:41

it is a bit distracting from the shit we are in nauticant, that's for sure.

Want2bSupermum · 12/08/2016 18:53

Actually I think if Trump kept his mouth shut and didn't say anything in regards to Hillary between now and November he would stand a good chance of winning. All he needs to do is lay out his plans and link them coherently. Let others talk crap about HC.

The fact he doesn't get that less is more in this situation scares me. HC is very well funded compared to Trump and IMO she, nor Trump are suitable candidates. I would however prefer Trump in charge because nothing would get done for 4 years and in that time out of the 300 odd million people we can find some better candidates for next time. If HC gets in we are looking at another 8 years of the same mediocre plodding along. Taxes are insane for what they cover. Healthcare is a joke. Our tax code needs a total overhaul and to get with the times in terms of globalization. We also need to have an uncomfortable conversation about social security and find some solutions now (I would start by removing the income cap).

As business owners here in the US we do see the immigration problems. Illegal immigration needs to be addressed. Trump is talking about it while HC and her VP are talking Spanish (a huge insult to immigrants such as myself and DH).

Another thing... where was the outrage when HC did the same to Obama 8 years ago? Yeah dead silence. Biden did some nasty things to Obama too. Nothing said about that by the Clinton News Network even though they were direct threats to her life while Trump was talking about people uprising (as in using their vote/voice). My question is what HC was trying to bury by going after Trump for this?

nauticant · 12/08/2016 18:57

I'm still a bit lost why Tim Kaine speaking Spanish is such a problem for you.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 12/08/2016 19:02

How is someone saying their first words in Spanish 'a huge insult' to you? Confused

nauticant · 12/08/2016 19:27

Is it also a problem for you that Jeb Bush has spoken Spanish publicly?

GiddyOnZackHunt · 13/08/2016 00:51

Gosh. Want2b is so a Trumper. Appears, drops a couple of xenophobic bombs and runs away...

TheDowagerCuntess · 13/08/2016 01:16

All he needs to do is lay out his plans and link them coherently.

You make it sound like this is something he can actually do.

He doesn't have the first clue himself, which is why he hasn't done it thus far.

Doesn't this concern you?

TheDowagerCuntess · 13/08/2016 01:19

Oh dear.

Trump is now saying that he can only lose the election in Pennsylvania by fraud

www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/08/12/donald-trump-says-hell-only-lose-pennsylvania-where-hes-down-9-points-is-if-cheating-goes-on/?hpid=hp_hp-cards_hp-card-politics%3Ahomepage%2Fcard#comments

He's basically encouraging his voters to go to other polling stations and "monitor" them As the first comment says, why aren't the FBI arresting this man?

That article HPFA is ridiculous, just as it says - he may get lots of people at a rally in Pennsylvania but that doesn't translate into votes throughout that state.

I honestly think he is preparing to lose mentally with this nonsense of rigging. It says that in monitoring a billion votes they found 200 dodgy votes. The man is such a meglomaniac he will never admit defeat so to talk of rigging now, to me, is his way of coming to terms with the fact he may well not win. He's also blaming the media. Sounds to me like he's up against the ropes and he knows it, I can't wait to hear his speech admitting defeat after the election!

Want2B he is incapable of setting out and linking coherent plans.

nauticant · 13/08/2016 08:42

I see there being three possible main outcomes:
a) Trump wins;
b) Trump loses and goes away; or
c) Trump loses but leaves a divided country with sides at each other's throats while demagogues use their mob power bases to strong-arm a weakened government.

I wonder which outcome he wants.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/08/2016 08:44

I've run out of free articles for the Washington post and the NY times.

Lweji · 13/08/2016 09:48

From the Guardian
www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/aug/13/donald-trump-claims-cheating-is-only-way-he-can-lose-pennsylvania

The worst part is that his statements contain veiled threats.
They start with "if", although then don't go on to say what to do, but considering his second ammendment followers...

As the article points out, he was quite happy to shout he was winning during the primaries based on polls.
But not now.
Pennsylvania even requires photo I'D, so his claims are even more ludicrous.

I didn't realise there's a cap on NYT and WP articles, I've been reading them too, was quite good to get an outside on the Brexit and I've kept going since.

I might need to subscribe if I can do so just til January.

He certainly seems like he is preparing the way to lose. Will the Republican Party stand by and watch him take them down with him?

Lweji · 13/08/2016 10:47

What would happen if the Republican party retrieved their support for Trump? Can the party do that?

have you tried to read the articles in a different browser or in stealth mode? It used to work for the Telegraph

Roussette · 13/08/2016 11:02

What about if you go into NYT, Washington Post etc under private browsing? Surely your ISP can't be tracked then? (I might be talking rubbish here, it's just a thought) Ooops just seen Llewj suggests that! I use private browsing or sometimes Edge browser (not my normal one) when boooking with Easyjet. If you look at a particular route on a particular day a few times, the price goes up. Go into private browsing or login from work and it's come down again!

Love the fact he was all for the opinion polls whne he was winning. Now he's not, it's all rigged. You couldn't make it up.

PomPomisGreat · 13/08/2016 11:30

Just clear your cookies. I do that every time I reach my ten articles on any paid site and it resets me.

I used to subscribe but it was a huge palaver to unsubscribe when I finally decided I wasn't getting my money's worth, including a mandatory overseas phone call, including a lot of pressure to change my mind, change my deal to a cheaper one I had not been previously offered and then being pestered to resubscribe for weeks. So, now I just read the articles for free.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/08/2016 13:25

fab tips!! thanks :)
