'Islam' is not a society outwith. The numbers of rapes and sexual crimes in the UK are quite high. Do you think there is not a patriarchal society in the UK? Why do you think these crimes are more likely among Muslims?

No, don't use the term 'taharrush'. People won't know what it means and will either be distracted by googling, or will simply ignore and think it's somethign that doesn't apply to them.

These needs to be as simple and sharp and possible to have impact.

And I think the time for re-wording is over - it needs to be started otherwise the moment will pass.

I don't feel I was personally attacking Emily as she / he has been calling people racist for sharing their opinions where posters have clearly said that they are not racist and that they abhor such sentiments. Just to clarify.

But Emily, Sexual assault is unfortunately all around us. However, the mass sexual assaults carried out by many gangs of men forming mobs in public in normal civil society while police are present is not something I have seen or heard about before.

Or the police deeming the attacks on hundreds of women as uneventful as the report which had to be pulled, stated. Or protecting these type of attackers by these false public statements and just letting the perpetrators go. Sweden as well. Law enforcement is not just not protecting women from assault, but working to protect the assailants and letting them get away with it.

It's a bad idea to rush. This needs to be right.

I like Tharrarush. I think it's punchy and linked articles will explain for those unfamiliar with the term. MP'S should be familiar and update with current affairs or have a team that are.

I find it dreadful that the victims of these attacking mobs are afraid to give their names as they would be the target for hate mail. I know nobody died in this instance, fortunately, but could you imagine if victims of the bataclan or any other attack were attacked if they went public.

Or if the police had an agenda to try to protect the perpetrators until the incident gathered dust.

Once again well done everyone for keeping this current I am really impressed at the thinking and the work that's being done.
Such a good idea to send a clear message out that this behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under the banner of tolerance/ not wanting to be seen as racist.Has it been mentioned it is now emerging (or more publicly anyway, I knew about it) that attacks and harassment of women by Muslim migrants/ asylum seekers has been happening in Sweden too, but again has been played down by the police and media? It all adds up to a definite pattern in several European countries.
Re getting Muslim women on board- good idea, but I wonder how many will want to. Maybe understandably they'll feel this is just another example of islamophobia (which it isn't) and in my experience many are in denial about the problem and deep down, some believe Western women "ask for it" by being out at night, underdressed and drunk.

I think we need to avoid taharrush in the guff. People will just go and click away.

Vertigo best not to use the word taharrush because it will be denied as having few similarities to that pratice.

I will come back later on - work beckons! If and when you are ready to start the petition, I stand by my offer to start it but I wont do anything until there is a consensus.
