Just in case people want to continue discussing this.

OP posts:

I must have missed something Shock

regenerationfez · 08/01/2016 17:24

Disgraceful! I remember Tatiana's posts particularly. They weren't going inflammatory at all. She cwas pointing out her own experiences!

LumelaMme · 08/01/2016 17:25

I really don't see immediately how this benefits ISIS, who surely are the primary suspects.
If it's ISIS - and there is no way of knowing if it is - it could be part of a long-term strategy, to turn western countries against their Muslim minorities, so that life becomes uncomfortable and difficult for them, causing those minorities to become radicalised and either trot off to Syria to join in the Jihad, or fight it here.

VertigoNun · 08/01/2016 17:26

Who informed you?

BungoWomble · 08/01/2016 17:27

Erm... right. I must also have missed something. Which I shall check on. It's unusual, I remember EatShitDerek being banned once for something that seemed innocuous... and she was allowed back by popular request.

hiddenhome2 · 08/01/2016 17:27

Another mumsnetter.

hiddenhome2 · 08/01/2016 17:28

It seems it's not just The Guardian then.

hiddenhome2 · 08/01/2016 17:29

It's the depressing reality of this place.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 08/01/2016 17:29

are MNHQ looking in to reports Hmm

BungoWomble · 08/01/2016 17:29

Seems a bit long winded Lumela. Perhaps it wasn't organised by a group. If it was organised of course, it's difficult to know when we know media aren't giving us the full facts.

hiddenhome2 · 08/01/2016 17:30

I don't know anything further.

onthephone100 · 08/01/2016 17:33

Why the fuck are people being banned!

I have read every post on this thread and haven't seen anything worth being banned from any of those posters.

Disgusting.

fourmummy · 08/01/2016 17:34

Mia My sentiments were not intended to question what you said. I completely agree with everything you've written here! I was, obviously rather inarticulately, trying to express my frustration with the events of the past few years where the only people who could ever criticise Islam were its former adherents. MN is indeed one of the few open fora for these debates, for which I am sincerely grateful.

BungoWomble · 08/01/2016 17:38

Sorry, just having a momentary wobble of shock and disbelief.

regenerationfez · 08/01/2016 17:38

Especially when so much of this threwasd has been taken up with the issue of media blackout s. I have a suspicion that one of the reasons this is now being talked about in the mainstream media is precisely because of threads like this. And now it is being censored?

VertigoNun · 08/01/2016 17:40

Women really are the bottom of the pile. Sad

speakergirl · 08/01/2016 17:42

Lets not forget this story was banned on several reddits so it's a complete minefield

SonyaAtTheSamovar · 08/01/2016 17:43

Have any posts been deleted by MN though? I haven,t seen any?

hiddenhome2 · 08/01/2016 17:46

I haven't seen any deleted posts either.

Have any of those three posters been around recently? The two threads are pretty big, it's hard to keep track.

visitorfromgermany · 08/01/2016 17:48

I am so moved, that women here would join a march of Solidarity for cologne women, that some would Start a mn campaign, the thought alone gives me some hope back, because over here, not eventuell women seem to really Care, even so called, selbst announced feminists are Not outeraged, the very Main Concorde is NOT to bring this in any connection to Immigrants and if you say otherwise, you are a Nazi. ...

it's so very good to read, that over here women are outraged and crying and saddened. thank you very much!!!

NotDavidTennant · 08/01/2016 17:50

When people are banned without warning on Mumsnet it's usually because they are a previously banned poster posting under a new account.

I'm not saying that's definitely what's happened here, but people maybe should be a bit less quick to call censorship.

SonyaAtTheSamovar · 08/01/2016 17:53

I thought the Swiss a

queensansastark · 08/01/2016 17:53

Feeling more and more angry as I read through the thread, frustrated at being powerless. Like previous posters upthread, I look at my beautiful daughter and worry sick for her future.

Right now, I will vote for PM someone who will close borders and just not get involved with foreign policy anymore, and concentrate on looking after their own citizens first....but that would never happen. Sick of the naive, brain-washed, politically correct, self-hating, guilt ridden, do-gooding attitudes which belies so much of Europe's ineptitude.

LumelaMme · 08/01/2016 17:54

Seems a bit long winded Lumela. Perhaps it wasn't organised by a group. If it was organised of course, it's difficult to know when we know media aren't giving us the full facts.
Well, Bungo, it all sounds a bit too conspiratorial for my usual take on the world (cock-up theory), but it was a theory that DH and I discussed a while ago.

Comments closed on that Guardian article now. DD has been reading that and exclaiming in rage.
