Marking place

Jjuice · 17/03/2014 10:00

Seriously? Marking place 4 posts in?

Thank you for making the thread. Someone commented on the last one about the pilot's political reviews and whether that caused a row.

As far as I am aware there is no evidence to support anything negative against the pilots despite the DM's best efforts. It's all pure, and probably unfair, speculation at this point. Unless the press conference says something else?

TheHoneyBadger · 17/03/2014 10:05

that doesn't fit with the pre-programmed change of route

BoiledPiss · 17/03/2014 10:05

Thankyou is also a place mark, honestly stop getting your knickers so tqisted about place marking, it is a new thread!

The press conference was nothing I hadnt read here to be honest, i agree the flight simulator thing was worded strangely but I do think, like someone else said that the pilots are being scapegoated, unless something concrete comes out I am discounting their involvement in my mind.

I really hope this new search strategy brings some news.

I didnt get the impression they were hiding anything, although a lot of it was malaysian so obviously didnt get the tone.

One question was asked whilst the uk reporter was speaking and his response was 'i just cannot say about that'

I wonder what the question was?

BoiledPiss · 17/03/2014 10:06

Thehoney, did i miss that? The route was planned from take off?

KenAdams · 17/03/2014 10:06

I agree, I have no idea why the DM is being sited as a credible source of information on these threads all of a sudden!

slartybartfast · 17/03/2014 10:08

speculation isnt going to lead anyway, so says malaysia, agree. need to search. not speculate

sara11272 · 17/03/2014 10:09

If the route was planned from take off, does that mean they know where its planned end point was?

BoiledPiss · 17/03/2014 10:09

Agree slarty

usuallyright · 17/03/2014 10:11

in most air crashes where they don't immediately know what happened, they hint at pilot error. Doesn't seem fair.

meditrina · 17/03/2014 10:11

I asked on the last thread how anyone would know that the changes were pre-programmed (hope Goldie reappears) as that suggests flight record that exist other than in the plane.

And I was wondering if such pre-programming was indicative of intention to fly a course to avoid known radar.

But of course no-one seems to know what the intention was, this is just another strand of speculation.

whatadrama · 17/03/2014 10:12

My heart just sank when he said 'no ransom note'.

I had hoped someone was holding the plane and passengers for massive financial gain so there was a small chance they would all return home at some point Sad

MerryMarigold · 17/03/2014 10:12

speculation helps to know where to search though.

so, this thing about the route being pre-programmed. Has that been confirmed?

BoiledPiss · 17/03/2014 10:14

Oh no What, i missed that, that doesn't sound good.

Although the hostage outcome, I think, would be the most shocking outcome ever.

:(

meditrina · 17/03/2014 10:16

"speculation helps to know where to search though"

I doubt it. Everything they are saying supports an evidence-led search.

firstchoice · 17/03/2014 10:17

um, have been on hols and not kept up with the news...

has this plane just disappeared then????

ajandjjmum · 17/03/2014 10:18

Just wondering - 'no ransom note' is not the same as 'no ransom demand'. Very specific. But then I am probably reading far too much into every work!

Burmahere · 17/03/2014 10:20

er Firstchoice tell me you are joking?

Burmahere · 17/03/2014 10:21

I posted on the end of the last one (page 37) but we've moved.

Could it have gone down in the Sumatran jungle? It appeared to be heading across Malaysia and might have brushed the tip of Sumatra?

firstchoice · 17/03/2014 10:23

er, no, I am not joking.
I have spent the last week with family making an important decision and not looked at the news - no screens at all.
I can biff off and look at sky - I see that it might be tedious to regurgitate the news to me, but I genuinely wondered what had happened when I saw this thread...

Monetbyhimself · 17/03/2014 10:23

Why couldn't you have waited until the other thread was full before starting this one ? Shock
