New thread re Roy Meadow (no Sir!)

Cheeseball, specially for you, yet another thread but without the Sir! (I'll post a link from the 2nd thread).

If what we are doing here is being radical busybodies then I am proud to be one! I am so sorry your husband feels like this and won't help you escape from the burden you are under.

Many of our MPs have now seen some details of Bunglie's case which we have forwarded to them and not one has said "you shouldn't be talking about this, you are breaking the law". Those gagging orders are so wrong and will surely be overturned before long. If you have to wait until they are before you can do something about your own case then so be it - he is wrong to be so angry with you about something that wasn't your fault but you are the one who lives with him and we can't tell you what to do.

If you get a chance do think about ringing Bunglie, you don't have to tell her your name or any details at all but I'm sure it would make you feel so much better (unless the guilt at doing it made you feel worse...)

OMG
SORRY, DON'T LOOK
I DID IT BY ACCIDENT, I MEANT TO PUT
[email protected]
and it goes straight to him, but before I had a chance to press the delete bit and type in firstname, I pressed the post thing by accident as I have a cordless mouse.

Please could you all forget that I typed a name in because he may get a bit cross with me and I might lose his sympathy if he thought I had told 20,000 mothers his email address.
I can't believe I did it.
I am so sorry

Possibly the easiest place to look is Ask Aristotle in the Guardian - you can put your postcode in and it comes up with the name, then you can get a link to all their contact details.

Some don't have an email address - according to this, Tony Banks doesn't which surprised me.

The parliament.uk addresses should work OK.

OP posts:
Bunglie · 10/03/2004 14:50

The parliament.uk address is what is on his note paper and I get my emails (all 2 of them) back from that email address.
I did once try faxing my mp and if you know their personal fax no. it works. If not it goes to some sort of sorting office and I think they feed it to the paper shredders as part of a youth employment scheme.

SofiaAmes · 10/03/2004 15:25

bunglie, if you are worried about having put your mp's real email address, just email tech and he will delete the post for you. Mumsnet are really great that way (and other ways too).

janh, that's how i f got my mp's phone number, was by searching for him directly online. I had emailed him through the address I got from the ask aristotle ie his .parliament address.

eddm · 10/03/2004 15:25

BTW, I emailed the Today programme to protest about the Royal College of Paeds and its dirty tricks campaign against the parents who have been so terribly wronged.

O.K. BBBB, I have emailed tech, grovled, told them the time down to the last second and asked them to take it off. I am certain that if I had sent them an email and they thought it was from you it would have been in perfect English, of course, they would have taken it off instantly, Are you trying to say I can't spell, well actually I can't! Perhaps if your email had that effect I need lessons? I am still waiting for my M.P. to get back to me from yesterday, actually that is a good idea I think I shall phone again. Invite me where??

Bunglie · 10/03/2004 15:54

OOps, sorry BBBB, I thought you were saying that I wrote badly written emails, that's why they thought you were me Woops!

Just about to phone M.P.
Eddm, what did the Royal College of Paeds do? I think I have missed out something somewhere? Please tell?
Off to ring the wizard La La La La La........
Bunglie's lost it!

Bunglie · 10/03/2004 16:18

AAAAGH! I'm cross,
I have just spoken to my MP's secretary, guess what, he has not received an email from me. That means the last two!
I have resent them and she has given me a fax number so I am off to fax it as well. She said she will show it to him tonight!
What's the betting they don't get it??
It might be worth noting that if you send ANY email to the Houses of Parliament you get an automated response, and then they are diverted to the mp's after being screened, probably for bomb threats.
I'm cross as I have waited patiently in good faith. Well ....
I'm off to fax the pratt...the wonderful pratt of .....la la la la

This all sounds a bit bizarre, re emailing your MP's. Surely they are there to be contacted so they can represent us???

Our MP has his contact details plastered all over his office window near the High St. I emailed him recently, on a Tuesday and had a written reply from the HofC on the Friday.

Bunglie · 10/03/2004 16:41

O.K. I really must stop having a drink in the afternoon, does mumsnet have an alcoholic mums thread? Agh

Seriously I have re sent the email, if you put a red exclamation mark by it that means prority doesn't it?
I have also faxed it and got the confirmation report saying it was received O.K. But I guess that is no garantee he will get it.
His secretary was very nice to me though and said (mp) is very aware of my case and she is certain that had he received an email he would have discussed it with her as to what action to take.
BBBB maybe you had better carry on letting them think you are me, you get better results?

SofiaAmes · 10/03/2004 16:54

I got a whole lecture from my mp's secretary about how many crank emails/faxes/letters they get. Hardly a reason for not accepting any at all. Isn't that part of the job.

Bunglie · 10/03/2004 22:27

Eddm, when you have time will you post about the Royal College of Paeds, as I have missed something here and am not certain what it is about but would like to know.

GillW · 10/03/2004 22:46

Bunglie - they've been getting a lot of publicity about a few claimed threats to peadiatricians who have been involved in abuse cases - details here , and here .
