Just read a tweet where it is suggested former MP George Galloway feels that once a woman decides to have a sex with a men he can have sex with her subsequently, while she sleeps, as the man doesn't need consent for each "insertion"! In his view, this does not constitute rape. WTF! This is his defence of the allegations against Assange.

Because, Ennis, and I'm sure this isn't going to be a popular view, a lot of politicians are rapists. A lot of ordinary men are rapists. A lot of men don't understand what constitutes rape and when they discover that something they've done, something they considered "a bit cheeky" or "poor sexual etiquette" is in fact a crime they would rather attack victims and belittle women than to admit that they are in fact rapists.

so easy to be blase about these kinds of stupid remarks which then get widely reported and ultimately help to validate and reinforce crappy misconceptions about rape when they ultimately will not have any real impact on your own personal life safety or happiness
