Welcome one and all!

Here you can do any of the following:

  • repeat or start baby steps (again!)
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone

or

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

This is what it's all about - Babysteps each day to try to get some order back into our home with LOADS of support from our regulars.

So join in! We start this thread on February 1st, but you are welcome to dive in at any point in the month.

Hi all,

just passing through quickly to say goodnight!

Hope you are all keeping warm ...

After work
haberdashery done
ballet runs - cancelled due to snow
declutter for 15 mins home office done
laundry again done
declutter for 15 mins master bedroom NOPE afternoon/evening routine done
Sew - got to get back to it but too tired tonight - dd may have to be a chef or a mermaid at this rate (previous yr's costumes)

lol at dingle and teen slurping!!

See you tomorrow everyone. Why is snow so exhausting?

Hello everyone. DS just got off to sleep but I did well and managed to stay smiley and not get cross. Think he was overtired (gym festival at leisure centre with school which they walked to and from, then walk run home from school with me and DNeice + his friend who came to play) and he got upset once in bed at the thought of going to spend half term with GPs and not seeing me

SO no flying tonight! and stuff for this evening well and truly disrupted due to playdate (tentative arrangements made last week but not confirmed until got to school this afternoon to pick DS up) but I did get all the ironing done and I did feed the DCs with enough left over for DH.

Oh and we had some snow this evening but only a sprinkle so I can't attempt to compete with SCs 10 cm.

Cooking pasta for DH (says he is on his way) then off to bed.

Evening! Well done OM'S ds for theory pass! Well on the way now!

DWM - lovely having time to do baking and mrsd muffin recipe sounds lovely so I might try at the weekend.

Hope you recovered from your bump SC and the repairs can be sorted easily.

minimarmite hope you can take it easy - sounds like you need to be nice and kind to yourself at the mo.

Waves to everyone else - sounds like we've all been busy!

I have:
morning routine - done
-dye hair - done
-tackle work 15 minutes at a time - we'll see - well kind of and I did go through several piles of paper and other stuff so feel a bit more in control
-read panel papers for tomorrow - done
-15 minutes decluttering I MUST I MUST I MUST - did my desk at work - is a start!
-ring learning support man - emailed, got a reply and will go in and meet him after half term
-encourage DD2 to do science homework - done
-have reasonable conversation about DD2 GCSE options as must be in on Friday - done and she has said she'll talk to the French teacher tomorrow about taking that as well as German
-check on DD1's health and wellbeing from time to time - especially manky toe! - done, toe healing well and feeling better now she's on different antibiotics
-make sure sorted for guides tomorrow - more or less - got a bit of shopping to pick up tomorrow
-evening routine - done
-CHILL - went for coffee with friend at lunch time

So I feel like it's not been too bad a day! off to bed now. Night all!

Just got back from work , and have to be back there at 7 in the morning (double )

MM - I feel your pain, I'm sure you will be pregnant again soon if that is what you want. Try, try again and all that . I really want another DC, but work is too bad to contemplate it. If I go off again there is a very real chance the company won't survive.

Yey Ellie welcome back. Have been a bit worried about you (but not in a stalky way ) hope all is OK!

MrsD Bleurgh to numberjacks here. Found myself at work saying 'something's going wrong - but not for long' and incorrect as it seems to be going wrong for aaages

Well done *OM's ds and high to MissB, DWM, SC and all!

Flying a bit rubbish today. Hoping for better things when I get back home tomorrow!

The mission is something I was going to do today. Note that she says surface clean only! No need to get the toxic chemicals out or defrost the freezer.

Once DS is at school I must

check up on train ticket for London next Wednesday
fill out the form I keep forgetting about
do some more of my project
parents appointment immediately after school (like parents evening but early ) so once home 2x15 min bursts in kitchen

Morning all. Bit bleary-eyed here as I had to get up at the crack of dawn to see off DS1 who has gone to the other side of the world (seems to me). So I'm a bit but also . He is !!!Seriously though, I was a bit worried about the icy conditions this morning but all was well!
Other two gone off to school now and they're very and and !!
Today I really need to get organised as the flying has flown out of the window!
Today then:
morning routine
washingdryingironing etc etc
clear up DS1s bombsiteroom
retail therapy if road conditions allow!
paperwork
supper

Right, better go and get started before I get accused of being sad by the antifairy people!

Given up on snow white costume for dd tomorrow (no way going to be finished on time but am ahead for next year ) and dd has agreed to go as Pippi Longstocking instead - phew!! - so just have to stick a couple of pipecleaners in fake plaits this morning and lay out a few other bits and bobs + face paints ...

Hooray for Pippi Longstocking, SC - I can recall one of the DDs being her for a book day - 'tis an easier costume than many - ideal for busy mums
PMPY - hope the day is not too frantic and you are not too exhausted by the end of it.

-mission - done!! Was standing in kitchen, dish cloth in hand, so thought, 'why not?'
-babystep - will think about it.....
-Guides - 'tis a Pamper evening tonight and they are coming in pyjamas so should be completechaos fun
-decluttering Unlikely but the longer I keep putting it up the more likely I am to do a bit one day
-go to work - in a minute

Morning ladies,

Bright morning here, but slapped in the face with an icy blast when I let the cat out! Day off today and for the first time for ages DH is working on my day off, so I am going to use today to catch up on the million things that have been on my to-do list for ever. - well I will try to do some of them anyway!

OM - Are you stuck in the snow again?

MrsD - Thanks for the muffin recipe. DS wants to try it out, so may be having muffins for pudding tonight. Glad the slow cooker is performing well!

DWM - If there were slurping teenagers at this time of the morning I would need a bottle of something stronger then camomile tea! Or is that for calming my nerves in preparation for today?
You were cooking pasta at 10.45 last night? Crazy!!

MMM - Big un-mumsnetty hugs coming in your direction. Full sympathies from someone who has been there, done that and had too many t-shirts!

MissB - Glad the toe is getting better.

I have actually written out a list for today. I keep on getting to the evenin gnad realising I have forgotten do make phone calls etc.

So today:

Kitchen - DONE ALREADY

Work Emails x4
contact Russian Embassy and Greek embassy
Catch up work job No 1
Catch up work job No 2
Try and get ahead with planning for job No3 - highly unlikely!
Supermarket
Pop in office and print off agenda for govenors meeting (forgot yesterday! - stupid me)
Collect valentines present from shop for DD3 to give.
Cook Lasagne - slow cooker
Bread rolls
Ironing pile
Governors meeting this afternoon
Then straight to parents evening for DS.
Should be at housegroup tonight, but may not if parents evening goes on too long.

Oh no DS and DD4 have just gone out the door to school, settled in front of laptop for a few minutes of "me" time. What do I hear? DD2 dragging herself downstairs to claim her place on the sofa. Already making the place look untidy! Off to get her breakfast and try to be a caring mum - "me" time will have to wait for later. - Oh I don't mean to sound selfish, I know she is poorly!

Morning everyone, sorry to post that I was back and then disappear again but life got in the way! It is so good to 'see' you all. Haven't had time to catch up with whole thread because that would take forever but did manage to pick up that someone dared to criticise our thread how very dare they but dwm's reponse was perfect!

Reasons for absence are numerous! Have been stupidly busy with work for a start, can't wait till half term next week. Having no wireless connection on laptop means that I have to sit in the hallway to get online and it's cold in there! Also, my poor childminder lost her twins at 21 weeks a couple of weeks ago which is too horrific to even think about but as a result she is obviously taking time off and i am having to ferry DC's around left right and centre to various people to look after them. All of this has meant a very tired and stressed elliepac.

I think I am going to have to go right back to the beginning as far as flying is concerned. WIth the hectic life and no flying I am right back to square one. I have something to aim for in that is DD's 2nd birthday next week so i need to get house presentable for visitors which should give me a kick up the bum some motivation.

I am going to start tonight as it is the first night this week when I have no beavers/swimming/parent's evening so list looks like this:-

Shine sink
General tidy
Washing

Keeping it short for now so i can actually achieve something

I will catch up with everybody's news later although have managed to pick up that pa has been grossed out by teenage slurping, someone's DC (pa?) has passed a driving test, sc has a lot of snow and a near miss, mrsgok has the flu, mrsdinky has muffins, missb hates teachers,wctr got sad over portsmouth, om beat the hpv jab and everyone got stuck on sc's maths homework apart from the genius of dwm. .

ANyway must dash, big waves to everyone I haven't mentioned mm (sorry you are sad sending you ), mmango, fruitstick, and others I have doubtlessly forgotten. My life has been less funny without you guys.

Oh, and in honour of inane list posting this morning i have:-

got out of my bed
got dressed (to shoes obviously because i do everything the fat fairy tells me*)
been for a wee
walked down the stairs
put some toast on
eaten said toast
got children dressed
changed DD's nappy
been for another wee
got in my car
turned the heaters on
driven to work via Tesco where I purchased some milk for work
STarted work
brushed my hair

Is that enough for the fairy haters out there? I obviously cannot function in the real world if i do not tell you all this

Morning all. Welcome back Ellie.

Am feeling perky today as managed to clean the house yesterday - do all hoovering, bathrooms etc as well as sort out DS2s clothes for the charity shop .

Also managed to do the mission - you do not want to see what was behind my microwave

I hope that I'll be able to keep on top of it now.

DH and I went out last night to see Stuart Lee who was hilarious, although fairly near the knuckle most of the time.

Today my task is to get to the bottom of the washing basket

Well, DD has impetigo, so that's all my child free time for the next two days gone, also can't take her anywhere . Just started oral antibiotics, hopefully it will clear quickly.

So today:

Wash all towels and flannels at 60C
Watch Numberjacks again
Don't know really, just potter around.
Make a list on a piece of paper
DD wants a sticker for taking her meds well, better go.

Organise boiler protection
Check my many to do lists & make new list of still to be done !

Right then Ladies over the next few day's I will be doing damage limitation. Over the past week the house has decended into chaos. Admitedly because I had been flying it is not as bad as before, but it is in a awful state. Also because I feel like sh1t and my whole body aches and I can't stop coughing I won't be doing much.So what I am goig to do is not follow fly lady for a couple of days while I concentrate on bringing myself back to the point I was before everything decended into chaos. If it is all right with you ladies I will post my list here and not on slatterns as this is my spiritual home.

So today it's

Downstairs loo to be defumigated.
Pick up all the detritus from the hall floor.
If I have enough energy hoover loo and hall.
Fold washing.

Lots of hair-dying going on at the moment, it's making me feel distinctly ungroomed. I seem to have post natal hair loss atm too

Have done proper clean of most of kitchen appliances this week so only really got the fridge to do for mission.

Typing onehanded wth sleeping baby so keeping it short today - will put her down and see to mission, i think

Just sneaking a peak as I am having what I call a 'silly day'! Just can't settle and get on iykwim.

mmmango - DS1 away for 10 days. I think I'm pretty fab to do his room too but it's easier if he's not there. The thing with teenagers is that on the whole they're wonderful and of course you do travel along the road to teenagerdom at the same time as them so it's not nearly as bad as you think it's going to be when they are babies and you imagine it! I have to say that the reason I can't settle today s that I'm missing my 6 foot 1 lump already! If he was here I'm sure we would have had at least one disagreement already!

SC - glad you liked my array of emoticons this morning!!

Elliepac - only one more day to go then you deserve a well-earned rest! Your poor childminder, how dreadful for her!

Minim - hope you're feeling a bit better about stuff today. I also have been there and got the t shirt as PA says but, hey, 17 years on and I am lucky with 3 largely healthy DC. Take heart!

Do you remember when I sorted my shelves in the hall and I did the childrens books and was going to put them up in the childrens room. Well for one reason or another they have been sat in the hall ready to take up (can anyone say procrastination?! rolls eyes ) Well after lunch I was sat getting my energy up and the DC were playing quietly, well I've just gone into the hall to do the floor and it is covered with 3 boxes of books aaaaaaargh!! The boxes are stacked neatly together beside the mess. Someone help me count to 10 before I lose it. God I could cry.

They've done it again. All the boxes out and the boxes neatly on the shelves with hats, scarves and gloves, everything is all over the floor cry

Have sent them up stairs to play in their room, though I have heard several big crashes come from up there.
