Stealing Ali's title as just realised we're out of room, and hopefully all lost slatterns will find us!!!

PlumBumMum · 02/09/2009 12:20

Hope your ok Ali

Morning all I have loads to do but this extra run to school to give dd1 her drops seems to be eating my days,
I will need to start thinking about lunch and then off to school again for 2 and stay there until 3

So before I head off
lift wash out of washing machine
finish unloading dishwasher
load dishwasher
tidy kitchen
lunch

that will do need to organise myself more!

We also need to find our lost slatterns?!

Never mind about the clothes - sod's law!

I'm just on such a downhill at the moment, variety of things haven't helped but if I could stop shovelling cake into myself it would help I am sure. Swooping blood sugar never did anything for anyone.

Yup DS's first day.

Here in Wales from 3 they can have 2.5 days a week of school plus 1.5 days nursery. Its free for the school and 2 quid for the nursery per session. We don't get the 'free early learning thingy' that you do in England, we get this instead. My childcare costs are going to be much reduced!

So DS is going to local village school (teeny) 2 days a week and to nursery 3 days a week as I can't get child care after school every day and still have to work for the next month. I'm taking 2 afternoons off per week so he can go to school 2 days.

The teacher said he was fine today and ate all his dinner and I did well up . Made a real fuss of him as well at home cos he was so good.

Dinner done
Vegging on sofa commenced

After having extra time with DS we now have the following to do
Tidy lounge
Clear up after tea
Clean kitchen
Put dishy on

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 02/09/2009 20:10

Flame - are you panicking yet about getting ready for the new baby?

We should have everything we need but you never know...

Have actually done one of my before October jobs at long last. Used Tesco vouchers to subscribe to Grazia...

Before October

Get out all baby clothes from under the bed and check
Make space in DS's bedroom for baby clothes and stuff
Put up crib.
Get subscription to Grazia to keep me sane done
Get some DVD's to watch whilst breastfeeding
Sort kitchen cupboards

Pick hospital to have baby in (two v similar ones nearby - went to one of them last time and it didn't go well)
Baby names - eeeeeeek

PlumBumMum · 02/09/2009 20:20

Have been quite productive today, I wonder if I can manage it agin tomorrow

flame I have been putting off labelling the uniforms, I will probably do it at the last minute as per usual!!

ali I hope the ADs get to work ASAP. I know exactly what you mean about the 24 hours a day thing, When it all gets a bit much for me I screem 'when will I get a day OFF!!' Sometimes I remind myself that when they are all grown up and don't need me so much I will be

HMHB Glad your DS first day went well. My DD will be going 5 mornings a week from the 23rd Sept, I am getting a little concerned about it because all of a sudden she has started wetting herself in the day, I know lots of LO wet at nursery, but I just don't want her to feel

Pig - know what you mean as DS decided he didn't like the hand dryers in the loos at school. So was worried that he would come back sans trousers. He was fine though.

She may be influenced in a good way by the other LO's?

Back at work. Had fairly traumatic trip to MW this morning. Still got to decide on hospital. When I talk to her about what happened last time I can't help crying. Think I will go to the other hospital.

Is there any way of knowing which is best?

Probably not the time and place on this thread. Will look back on MNet for help later.

Have a good day all! xx

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/09/2009 11:30

Morning Slatterns

HMHB - I'm not sure there is a way of knowing what's best, except gut feeling. If you are still so upset about previous experience then revisiting the same hospital isn't really going to help. Nothing says that by changing hospital you will prevent any problems, but I would imagine your stress levels will be much lower which has to be a good thing!!

Basic list today for me.

Hello everyone, it's very quiet on here!!

Ali how are you feeling today??

HMHB I hope so!!!

With the hospital thing, I would say trust your instints, If you find even talking about the hospital you went to before upsetting, than maybe you should opt for the other one. Have you been visited the maternity unit at the other hospital?

Peppa - I'm ok. Sleep deprived! DS woke up 4 or 5 times last night and in the end stayed in our bed which hardly ever happens. We think he was cold so I've been and bought him a little duvet and pillow for his cot and a lovely Winnie the Pooh set of covers. He is up there now having a nap all snug, he was delighted with it all being in his bed
Everything is just such an effort and I'm struggling to stay positive and cheerful - I walked to Mothercare though and took DS to the swings on the way so feel like less of a rubbish Mummy now!

Blimey flame, you're speeding through that lot.

HMHB I'd be tempted to go for the other hospital if only so I didn't panic when I got there in labour.

DD starts preschool on monday

DD was up ALL night being sick so haven't really got a list, have just done some basic bits (and LOTS of washing!) I did chance it and go into town because I really needed to get money from my savings account to pay a few bills (and also withdrew a lot bit more and treated myself to some new jeans, boots and cardigans -all ordered online apart from jeans I wasn't mean enough to drag sickly child round all the shops!). Regretted that when she went grey on the bus on the way home and I thought she was going to vomit everywhere (she didn't just conked out)

claireybee · 03/09/2009 15:57

cross post alibaba. Everything is worse when you're tired. I was starting to wonder if I had delayed pnd but then ds suddenly started sleepig a bit better and I felt much better straight away.

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 03/09/2009 16:56

Ali The fresh air is great for lifting the sprits!! It is getting colder in the nights, last night I put a blanket over our duvet because I was cold. I must get DS3 some thicker sleepsuits to use until he can have a duvet. I love seeing a LO all snug and sleeping, they look so cute!!

clairey Is your laptop sorted, or where you just very lucky with keys

Hope your DD id feeling better.

Very panicked about getting ready now, yup. It was the realisation today that I only need 3 more weeks before I am far enough gone for a homebirth!

HMHB - I would say go with the other hospital. It may not be better, but there wouldn't be the anxiety already there iyswim.

Done sod all today. Not killing kids is a struggle...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/09/2009 19:13

I have survived today, although DH has gone out for a beer with his boss after work and it's a 2 hour commute home so I will have to do bedtime on my own... DS is already getting grumpy and looking around for Daddy. Just giving him his tea now, hopefully that will cheer him up!
