Thank you very much Cotswold

Afreshcuppateaplease · 26/03/2018 17:30

Place mark

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 26/03/2018 17:52

Placemarking, thanks Cotswold.

Oo er.

[settles in to hen bubble. Ponders whether bringing a cat to cuddle might be a bad idea for said hen]

Well my bolognese turned out to be chilli. Boy I can’t wait for our lovely huge fridge freezer when we move, in which there will be loads of neatly stacked and LABELLED Tupperware boxes of batch cooked yumminess. #possiblydeluded

I just stirred a bit into spaghetti for the Caglets though, having picked out several kidney beans so as not to arouse suspicion. Had mine with cheese and rice. Yum.

Picked up DD’s melatonin. Found out arrangements for taekwondo over easter. Earlier the Caglets did maths and we started our proper poster plans. One more week of ‘term’ (well until Thursday), plan is to finish poster and do maths every day. Over easter hols I’m going to focus on using the various online learning things we have (doodle maths, literacy planet etc) so they get into a good habit. Then after easter I want to get them using them in the evenings and weekends, while we do more book/paper based stuff during the day. They are still watching too much telly. But it’s time to get more serious now I think.

Really can’t describe how glad I am that it’s british summer time now. Sat outside in the sunshine during their lesson and continued reading about BLW (...while eating a pastry... shhhhh)

Thanks for the new thread Thanks :)

CotswoldStrife · 26/03/2018 19:37

I have just seen the start of Masterchef on the TV and started laughing because I was thinking about Mastershed etc Grin

Poorly relative is doing OK so that is welcome news. Didn't object to too much today either which is a bonus!

Place marking. Slightly stressing about ds as his glands have come up and I've never seen that before! Going to ring the gp tomorrow I know they won't want me bringing him in with chicken pox but maybe I can get some reassurance or they'll make me an appointment if they think its needed.

foxessocks · 26/03/2018 19:48

Sorry I'm an idiot put place marking then decided to waffle on Blush

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 19:53

I might have put the tea in the slower cooker but some bugger helpfully turned it off so ended up having to cook anyway. Ds and I fell out. Then we went to ikea and too much money was spent. Ditto another shop and they were even the errands i went out for because I had forgotten to change the time on the watch and was out an hour. Ds and I am almost speaking. Almost. But homework is mostly done. Just one more piece tonight to do.

ONly plus note is that I don't have to worry about cooking tomo as it will be done already. WHich is good when I have a late one. shhh going into work despite being told to take a few more days off

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 19:54

weren't even the errands

Afreshcuppateaplease · 26/03/2018 19:56

foxes i once suspected one of mine had slapped cheek and phoned gp. They arranged for me to wait in another area to be seen

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 20:01

foxes there is a very nasty virus going around that causes the glands to balloon hugely and with the fun of a viral rash.camomile tea bags in the bath with soothe the rash a bit ime Might be worth contacting them and letting them decide if they need/want to see him.

foxessocks · 26/03/2018 20:35

Thanks hills I'm sure he has chicken pox as dd just had it (sorry not sure if you saw that as you've been away from the thread for a bit!) I assume swollen glands are to do with the chicken pox...hope it isn't another thing!!

afresh thanks I'm sure they'll see me they are an excellent surgery.

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 20:47

I did see that but it is not always a given that children catch each other's plagues. Ergo all my siblings had mumps as children, I never did. I had measles the sibling who was born at that time didn't but they got slap cheek and I didn't. iyswim. Ergo if is it not one it is another. But ds was very poorly which his chickenpox (spots on eyes etc) so sometimes it is worth confirming. Isn't chickenpox still a notifiable disease too?

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 20:49

Basically what I meant is if you need to get it checked give them a ring and let them figure the logistics.

see too much overtime, my brain is talking in waffly nonsensical sentences atm. It needs a holiday. One which doesn't involve DIY or building work

Afreshcuppateaplease · 26/03/2018 20:53

Chicken pox is not notifiable

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/03/2018 20:57

I second/ third etc ring gp for advice foxes.poor lil fellaSadours would see in separate room if concerned too

Tada
Everyone fed(bolognese)
Wash up
Curl dd2 hair
Administer pain killers to D's and check lil zoo over as crying(glands up blistery looking scarlet throat.dodgy cough.sore nose from blowing)

Collapse in front TV

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/03/2018 20:58

Caffiend?! FFS.i give up for tonight!!

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 21:03

Oh zoo fiend is much more appropriate!

Thanks Afresh

foxessocks · 26/03/2018 21:04

Grin understood hills!

Definitely will ring gp first thing. And probably won't sleep a wink for checking on him! Already checked on him once.

CotswoldStrife · 26/03/2018 21:48

Caf-fiend! That's me! Too much coffee, best day ever on the thread today! I am currently slurping the cold remains of a McD Toffee Latte.

foxes don't hesitate to ring the out of hours service if you are worried Flowers You feel so helpless when they are ill and you can't fix it.

Hills are you sure about going back to work just yet, don't burn out because sometimes getting better can't be rushed.

zoo hope you all get some sleep tonight. DD has had another early night tonight but she is catching up from a sleepless night a few days ago.

I'll post the links later because this thread probably makes no sense to anyone else, but it's been a brilliant day!

HillsBesideTheSea · 26/03/2018 22:21

Ha. Tbh i am more likely to burn out staying at home trying to deal with all the stuff that is pissing me off because it needs doing.

I give you exhibit A

Ta Da
Argue with ds
Drive ds to school
speak to school
4 loads of washing
1 load of hand washing
slow cooked food ready for tomo
Deep cleaned the bathroom with exception of floor which needs mopping tomo and the bath
food shopping (in an actual shop)
Drive into the next city and ikea/other shop errand running - i have a new iron now GrinGrin
huge mountain of ironing
cleaned out the towel cupboard of stuff that has been dumped there
put the towel away
put out the recycling
cook alternative tea for actually eating today
several phone conversations with ds' dad to warn him of the shit storm of complaints and attitude that will be heading his way
Pots and grill pans washed
Dishwasher loaded and run
Sorted cooking racks and cake tin liners into their new storage
Ditto for the meal prepping containers

Ergo a day in work sat at a desk will be a nice easy one even if it is a split shift with a 2 hour gap. Might see if I can be organised enough to do some banking. Else I will sit in the car and knit.

Cagliostro · 26/03/2018 23:06

I’m lounging on the sofa with baby dozing on me, watching Friends and have just finished the Tesco order. Tried to think of how to use up some stuff we already have so it’s a little cheaper.

Don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow YAY
