Morning all this is as close as I am going to get to flying today.

Finished work at midnight went in and did my shopping (I work in a supermarket) Got home and put everything away to find that time had done a fast forward and that it was 2am. So dragged myself of to bed.

DS is teething and decided that 4.30am is the perfect time to start yelling. Have finally got him settled. Thank goodnes for milk, calpol and Sky TV Tiny pop is on from 13.0am so I can usually find something to distract him with. Just means I have to canmp out on the sofa till it's time to get up.

Need to try and get my head down now as I am back at work at 11.

Happy flying everyone see you Monday as I intend on catching up on lost sleep on Sunday.

I've ditched the emails, and am relying on these threads instead.

No missions over the weekend, as we are supposed to be doing family together type stuff.
I'll be changing all the sheets, hoovering, mopping, and tidying. May take the kids to the park if it stops raining long enough.

asleep · 30/09/2006 08:25

morning!
i don't get the e-mails. just use the website.

today i need to:

  • tidy kitchen
  • do dishes DP made soup last night and used every utensil we have and left the clearing up for me. grrr.
  • laundry
  • RELAX
SusiS · 30/09/2006 08:46

morning ladies!
yeah, i had a lie in - 6.15

played with the kids for 2 hours and dd is in bed now, ds is watching tv!
i've done the dw so sink is clean again!

going to do my dvd workout and then breakfast - oh, and i am dressed and hair done

it actually has stopped raining and the sun is peeking through. but don't have a pushchair so can't take kids out! dp told me he'll see to it (wheel has a puncture! to be fair he has tried: fixed the hole but guess the material was too old so didn't hold; ordered new innertube but we've got the wrong one; he took it to work to sort it and forgot it there; it's in his jacket now so i'll have a look in a minute if i can mount it! gosh, it happened last sunday )

tinshoes · 30/09/2006 08:48

Morning all.

DH cleaned the living room and playroom carpets last night so now they looklike new - hurrah!

Dishwasher emptied and reloaded with breakfast stuff. Kitchen nice and tidy/clean, washing to go in the machine in a min.

Then we're off to town later where I hope to buy some baskets for the few stray toys that make it into the living room and a magazine rack for the kids books in there too (most in bedroom).

Anyway, have a lovely day everyone.

SusiS · 30/09/2006 09:23

so! workout done! off to have a wash and breakfast

a load is in the dryer and another one in the washing machine

i'd like to go into town later too - also to get some baskets

but since next week = dining room; it's where my pc is and oh boy, that needs tidying!!!!
BUT i've spent a few hours yday to go through all my papers and i am trying the '12 months' system now instead of the 'every company has an own folder' system .. time will tell
have a full bag of old papers to shred now

tinshoes · 30/09/2006 09:44

whats the 12 months system Susis?

SusiS · 30/09/2006 11:24

weeeeeell, basically a folder for each month! - to put the monthly bills in and also the yearly ones - had to get my head around it though! (making a list along side because sometimes it's just hard to think which month to put it in) - i'll also get a 'catch-it-all' folder where all the current incoming bills go in and at the end of the month i sit down and swap the old ones for the new ones - should be much less paperwork i hope

does it all make sense?? that's the theory anyways

SusiS · 30/09/2006 11:24

oh i also have a folder for each person in the house for 'personal official' things

tinshoes · 30/09/2006 11:50

ah, sounds a bit complicated. I have seperate files for actioned stuff and an in-tray for pending but then i pay by DD for quite a lot so that makes it a bit easier.

very happy as just bought a magazine rack for £5 from wilkos which fits some of DDs books in - automatically improving the tidiness of living room by 50%

very quiet this morning.....does that mean everyone is out having fun?

squatchette · 30/09/2006 12:36

Hi there if there's anyone still about was here last night after 10pm and seemed to have missed everyone again.
Well sympathy to susis as my double pram has puncture too.It happens same time every year when the conkers drop,i take it to this car and bike place healds i think and they fix it for about£6 per tyre.I tried the kits at home once or twice but they never work for long so it's best to get a new inner-tube.
So far today i've made the beds fed and dressed the babes twice grrr, cleaned the kitchen and done a load of washing ,given the bedroom and living room a quick tidy.Just hoovered up a load of cornflakes kiddies got hold of and filled their pretend t-pot with and wiped choccy pud off t.v at least i think it was choc pud you never know with my 2.Just having a little rest now the telewest engineer has just left after the fault decided to fix its self again (until later that is when it's gtd to start up again). At least the pc is ok for now, fingers crossed.Probably going to do some crafts this afternoon with the girls tried to get out of it as the mess will be nightmare but dd2 keeps saying when are we going to do making?I feel all guilty now she's telepathic aahhh just as i type this she's here again "make muma make".Oh well i did say this afternoon and technicaly it's only dinner time.I just need a little sit down and a bit of me time then i'll be recharged and ready to go(do i sound convincing)dont feel it!

tribpot · 30/09/2006 12:50

DH is a FLYer! Told me last night how he had been keeping the sink shined whilst I was at work and what a nuisance it was as he kept having to get a new tea towel when the old one was too wet

(I think I can hear him emptying the dishwasher now! Must go and check).

Intrigued by filing system as mine is hopeless. Is this a folder as in a ring binder? And what do you do at the end of the month?

BarefootJasnem · 30/09/2006 12:55

I was always really organised with bills etc( I had one page /month in an old book, and recorded as they came in, then ticked as theyu were paid (including dds so I knew what would go out of the bank when. I have lapsed since having ds, but am feeling inspired to restart next week.

I'm having a laundry day today. I've changed all the beds, put away clean stuff ( so airer and tumble drier are ready for use)
Also had the kids do their room while I changed their beds so you can walk in their room without standing on toys now.

Flamebat · 30/09/2006 12:56

I got some sleep! I got some sleep!!

Family fun day is consisting of me taking the munchkins to see my dad whilst DH gets some sleep (he slept on the sofa with DS hence me getting sleep).

Gonna start babysteps again tonight.

BarefootJasnem · 30/09/2006 12:58

Hello bat girl.

Flamebat · 30/09/2006 13:04

Oops - got my dates mixed up!! Thought it was October

squatchette · 30/09/2006 15:51

hi missed everyone again(sniffs armpits)
managed to nip out minus the tiddlepeeps dp watched them whilst i got the bus to the nearest supermarket.Made a chicken and veg caserole in the crockpot with dd helping stood on a chair i chop and she puts it all in.Got the recipe off a cooking show i watched this morning whilst doing the bedroom tidy up.DP said dds were murder and is now recovering in the bath so just thought i'd check in.
Think i'll try the filing idea that's one area of flylady i really need to master do have a control journal ring binder and have just got a hole punch and dividers at last so will stop just chucking everything in (my present system).
Plan to read a magazine i bought about 3 wks ago if i get chance .OMG just heard the microwave ping ...DD2 COOKING SPONGES!Was planning to give it an Anthea style clean with half a lemon on for 1 min but sponges weren't part of the plan.Think i'll go get that lemon whilst i've remembered .

hazelnuts · 30/09/2006 16:28

Hi all FLYers.
squatchette, I don't know how you do it all. I cant do what you do. (health) but you do a very good job by the sounds of it. I seen your post in yesterdays thread, but it was to long for me to take it in right. I have found out how to do punctures right. (xp2 told me last year) You have to wait for the glue stuff to dry and not use to much glue.(very very small amount) before putting the patch on. I was using loads of glue and putting the patch on the wet glue. Went you have fixed the patch on and rubbed it hard to make sure its fully stuck on, its then best to put some chalk dust (or baby powder) on the place where the patch is as it stops the glue from sticking the tube to the tyre, which can make the patch rub off. I have no problems with fixing punctures now . A £1 for the kit and I can fix 7 punctures with that. I have a spare wheel with me on my buggy now.(like a car would) I have only been caught out 2 times with punctures in 2 wheels at the same time. Dam hedge cutting,
Not having a great family day here. Xp1 did not come to get DSs and SS did not turn up either like they said they were going too. So I dont know what the hell is going on with them or him. Ds1 did get upset again that his dad has not come to see him. I have not gone anywhere, just incase they/he comes. Its been raining on and off and the DSs want to go out to play. I have made some more cookies though. They keep saying "eat me!"lol I etter thing bout getting tea cooking soon. I know wa I am cooking, its just getting up from here and doing it

hazelnuts · 30/09/2006 16:30

oops, missing loads of letter

Its fill in the missing letters today

squatchette · 30/09/2006 16:53

Just tried the lemon in the microwave put it on full power for 2 minutes and the grime just wiped off really easily!Find Anthea Turner a bit annoyingly smug but she does have some great ideas.I read the thread on folding towels recently and thought how anal but then i tried it and now i can't do them the old way.
The main problem i have with keeping the house in order is that the children seem to make mess faster than i can keep up with it all. Some one please tell me it will get better with age. They are 2 and 3.5yrs old and i'm sure they're the messiest kids in the world .It's so disheartening when i'm say cleaning the kitchen only to find they've wrecked the living room i just did etc .dd2 has a thing about drawing on walls she's just chalked all over the speakers ,oh well at least it wasn't nail varnish again. It doesn't matter where i hide stuff thay always find something they work together to get drawers open or one holds the chair whilst the other climbs up talk about partners in crime.
They are looking slightly tired at last hoping they'll need a sleep soon both were still up at 1a.m this morning and back up at 7am so they must be worn out. They are watching cbeebies something special the one that teaches sign language.dd 3.5yrs loves it as she was a signer until less than a year ago when she recovered speach (her vocal chords were paralysed during one of her opps on windpipe).I'm pleased to say that despite her tracheostomy she never stops talking now and her vocab is great for her age.DD aged 2 is just starting to make sense and she still uses the odd sign she picked up just from watching since birth .
I'm amazed every day at the speed kids learn at this young age.My cousin lives in spain with her dutch partner the kids are 4 and 6 and go to Spanish school so they speak 3 languages already.
I'm off to check out flylady now hardly been there or read my emails since i started on MN don't want to desert her after all she's done for me and my terrible organisational skills.
eldest asleep yay!!!

squatchette · 30/09/2006 16:59

Thanks hazelnuts i must try that as it's going to be puncture season for a while yet.Sorry to hear about your xp and ss i've been in a similar situation myself and you feel so bad for them when no one turns up i can remember that feeling even now.How old is your son BTW?

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 30/09/2006 17:05

hello squatchette!
Don't worry about the armpits!
