Morning all this is as close as I am going to get to flying today.

Finished work at midnight went in and did my shopping (I work in a supermarket) Got home and put everything away to find that time had done a fast forward and that it was 2am. So dragged myself of to bed.

DS is teething and decided that 4.30am is the perfect time to start yelling. Have finally got him settled. Thank goodnes for milk, calpol and Sky TV Tiny pop is on from 13.0am so I can usually find something to distract him with. Just means I have to canmp out on the sofa till it's time to get up.

Need to try and get my head down now as I am back at work at 11.

Happy flying everyone see you Monday as I intend on catching up on lost sleep on Sunday.

Gosh, some of you have done loads...

DH working today, so took dd to a friends 4th birthday party and had to take ds with me too...(it was at a ball pit/climbing frame place so I just paid for his entrance and he amused himself} so I just sat around with the other mums drinking coffee - no flying got done...

Lounge is worse than ever, and kitchen and dining room floor covered in mud dragged in by dc and dog... aaaarrrrgggghhh

But, have done 2 loads of washing and put away, and changed our bedding...
Roast dinner is in oven, will get stuck in seriously tomorrow...

hazelnuts · 01/10/2006 17:01

Tea is nearly cooked, smelling good. should be ready for eating at 5:30. I have done the beds and have the DSs bedding washing now. I will put that load on the airer to dry over night before I put it in the T/D
peegeeweegeewoo I hate winter here as all the mud comes in with DSs running in and out. I dont have a dog so thats 1 less thing to bring the mud in. Clean floor and then with in minutes DSs walk in with muddy boots.I wish I had a small closed in porch on the back door so they could take their boots/shoes of out there.
The bath is ready for DC to have a bath now before tea.
Enjoy your teas everyone. I am going too with mine

squatchette · 01/10/2006 17:33

Hi all ,mood slightly improved since earlier
Have done a bit of work made a nice pork and mushroom dish but it wont be ready till about 7!

Managed to get the kids out the living room and into playroom by 1.turning of tv in here and putting the one in there on 2.Setting up a Teddy Bears picnic in playroom and 3)Locked them in .. actualy no 3 just a wishful thinking, they can undo the safety gate anyway .

Living room did get a little tidier and hoovered.DP is going mad as my youngest Saskia has taken the bath plug (again) and we can't find it anywhere. She's only 2 so when you ask her where it is she just says yes plug and giggles.

Just looked at your photos Asleep great job.I used to have a carpet that colour (cream) .We are going to rip it up the minute the kitchen is finished and workmen gone. I'm thinking of painting the floorboards like i did in the playroom, just because of daughters constant accidents.
Wanted it sanded but man who came said the edges had been painted with some kind of tar based paint that never comes off they'd seen it before in old houses and never got a great result.Laminate quotes were £700+ way too much for me at the mo.Anyone any advice please?Room is about 16x16ft wide old floorboards in good but dirty condition.

tortoise · 01/10/2006 17:37

squatchette Well done! Doing a little is better than unhappy for doing none!
I personally would have carpet!I hate laminate/wooden floors! Much prefer the soft, warm, cosy carpets.

squatchette · 01/10/2006 17:51

I agree tortoise but when you have a little one with permanent runs you start to go for the practical over asthetic.
Also we had no central heating last year and this winter we will have so think it will be a floor i can easily keep clean.I have lots of rugs in front of the 3 sofas and in front of fire place so they help add a little comfort .Love my throws and cushions too i'm all for cosy over minimalist.Just fed up of cleaning up poo several times a day.
Hope you're enjoying your tea HN sounds lovely can't wait for my cooker to arrive so i can do proper roasts again.

TheInvisibleTortoise · 01/10/2006 18:02

I guess you are right!
I don't know anything about her bowel prob maybe one day you can carpet over!

squatchette · 01/10/2006 18:09

Hey why the mame change TIT for short ok? Sorry couldn't resist.
BTW we don't know what her bowel prob is either spent 6 months last year in hospital trying to find a cause and she spent 13 months after birth in hospital too.One things for sure though it is getting better since she started eating as well as tube feeds. We do have some carpets in the hallways and all of upstairs xept bathroom.
I'm off to check on tea and put the washing away so bye 4 now

TheInvisibleTortoise · 01/10/2006 18:25

Name change because its October.
Getting ready for halloween! Great!! im a tit!

asleep · 01/10/2006 18:49

bah i made a chocolate cake but it all went wrong. it ended up in the bin

i'm digging out DD's warm coat. she's been wearing a fleece one, but moaned it was too cold now. i'll try to find her gloves too while i'm at it.

DD is in bed. DS asleep in my arms. DP is at work. never mind feeling lonely, at least the house is clean.

TortUREoiseChamber · 01/10/2006 18:55

Not a TIT anymore! Is this better? LOL!

Just put dd's to bed and cleaned kitchen after tea for once so won't need to rush and do it at 11.00 tonight or in the morning!

tribpot · 01/10/2006 18:58

squatchette, sorry to hear your dd is so poorly

asleep - clearly downside of clean house is you aren't being kept busy doing cleaning, bad FLYlady!

Excellent weekend from a FLY perspective (marred by fact ds is leaking from both ends, I reckon I have done a good 15 nappies today and dh a similar number). Might take him to the GP tomorrow.

  • Hotspots eradicated: 2
  • Beds changed
  • All laundry put away (which in itself eliminated at least four other hotspots)
  • All ironing done, freeing up mum's help to do other cleaning tomorrow
  • LOADS of cooking done, so plenty in freezer for week. Having a slow cooker has really helped here as I could have one thing in the oven and another in the slow cooker cooking simultaneously
  • clothes laid out for tomorrow morning for me and ds

Dh and I have negotiated the service level agreement for sink shininess, excellent.

Having a good evening all.

hazelnuts · 01/10/2006 19:00

squatchette I enjoyed my tea. Though I did not get to eat my roast spuds. DS1 and DD dont eat roast spuds, so I do mash for them. Well today they both tried mine. I ended up with no roast spud as those 2 had mine. I just got mash Hope you get your cooker soon!

tit ( pmsl ) I like my carpets too I would like 1 in my bathroom but DC will just soak it very time they have a bath. I hate walking round on cold floors, they why I wear slippers all the time.

DD and DS2 are in bed sleeping, dont think DS1 will be much longer as he is looking very tired.
D/W is on, kitchen is clean, toys away, lunch boxes ready, cloths ready for am so I think the night is nearly mine

hazelnuts · 01/10/2006 19:04

Ok tortoise now go to TC

That reminds me of Top Cat and all his friends get to call him TC.

Just watch PC Dibble does not come to get you

TortUREoiseChamber · 01/10/2006 19:06

LOL HN Better than TIT!! Whats your name going to change to??

hazelnuts · 01/10/2006 19:12

My mind has gone.

Sorry about your chocolate cake Asleep. If I have to make a cake ( say for a birthday ) the first 1 never turns out right and ends up in the bin I made a great 1 for DS2 4th birthday but DD got to it. I put in on a chair so I could put a tablecloth on the table. The phone rings, DD gets to the chair and starts to eat the cake. The funny bit was she also tried to feed the floor with it too. I never had time to make a new 1, so it had to be a shop 1

TortUREoiseChamber · 01/10/2006 19:19

Just looked out the bedroom window and the barn fire is still burning.News said was arson.
HN it was on local news so you may see it.BBC1 has local news at 7.55.

BarefootJasnem · 01/10/2006 19:19

I hate it when I go to the trouble of attempting a cake and it ends up in the bin.
I made buns this am for dp to put in his lunch tomorrow, and we've eaten them all, so I'll be making more tonight.

TIT !

BarefootJasnem · 01/10/2006 19:20

What was in the barn to burn all day?

TortUREoiseChamber · 01/10/2006 19:22

Straw.Piled right to the top. Also think spread to the next building.

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 01/10/2006 19:28

Squatchette, fitting laminate yourself is relatively easy, you just have to start in a certain corner. B&Q have how-to leaflets and there's loads of tips on the net, I'm sure it would be less than £300 to do a room that size.

Have been really pre-menstrual today, at one point found myself brandishing a kitchen knife at DH for saying 'you're doing too much cleaning.' I can't bldy win! Is this what it's like when you learn to stop ignoring the mess? I always thought Anthea Turner was a seething mass of venom under that thick floppy fringe - I guess it's because everywhere she goes is not going to live up to her standards. Am I doing too much cleaning? I never used to be stressed out about not doing it, just a bit guilty.

TortUREoiseChamber · 01/10/2006 19:32

just found this info if anyones interested!!

chocolatehazelnuts · 01/10/2006 19:33

OK TC I will look out for that on BBC1
I have changed my name

Barns will burn for days. There not much they can do! they could pull all the straw out and make it all wet to put it out, but thats just a waste of water. The straw is no good anyway so they just get it burn its self out. ( see I did learn something at collage )

TortUREoiseChamber · 01/10/2006 19:34

Chocolate isn't spooky! Needs to be a halloween name!

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 01/10/2006 19:36

Here's my Simpson's style Halloween name
Bit too sick?

chocolatehazelnuts · 01/10/2006 19:39

Just looked TC (hope you dont mind me calling you TC) It sounds like it near a road. The 1s round here were out of the way barns.
