Morning all this is as close as I am going to get to flying today.

Finished work at midnight went in and did my shopping (I work in a supermarket) Got home and put everything away to find that time had done a fast forward and that it was 2am. So dragged myself of to bed.

DS is teething and decided that 4.30am is the perfect time to start yelling. Have finally got him settled. Thank goodnes for milk, calpol and Sky TV Tiny pop is on from 13.0am so I can usually find something to distract him with. Just means I have to canmp out on the sofa till it's time to get up.

Need to try and get my head down now as I am back at work at 11.

Happy flying everyone see you Monday as I intend on catching up on lost sleep on Sunday.

asleep · 01/10/2006 07:55

morning!

DP and i had a wonderful evening together. really needed to spend some time with each other like that. DS slept from 8 till 5.15 and then had a 2oz feed and went back to sleep until 7.15! so i woke up all refreshed and not even hungover

kitchen is a mess again after DP's pizza making. we also made hot chocolate (the proper way boiling milk and melting a bar of chocolate in it) and that probably helped me sleep so well, but made more dishes dirty.

better start my home blessing (or as i call it: "the BIG clean") as i do that on sundays.

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 01/10/2006 08:11

yum! proper hot chocolate!

today is a big day in our house.

I am going out for the whole day

So DH is looking after the DC all by himself!!!

So, it's odds on that I will return at 530 to a complete sh*thole, DH will be lying in a broken heap and the DC will be hanging from the chandelier (except we don't have one)

Secretly I am hoping they will drive him absolutely mad so he can appreciate my life for the last 3 years [evil emoticon]

tinshoes · 01/10/2006 08:30

Morning all, got a lie in until 7.30 this morning. Woke up to a nice tidy house.

Off to supermarket this morning then park with DH and DD this afternoon so should be a nice day

SusiS · 01/10/2006 08:46

squatchette waffle on as much as you like - and pmsl at charlotte! at least someone realises what it actually is .. just a shame it's not our other halves!!
asleep that sounds like a lovely time!!! at least your dp made the effort (don't we all know about using everything possible in the kitchen once they actually use the kitchen lol)
shaz wow can't wait for the results lol - if he survived or went mad! might try that myself one day
tinshoes aww a lie in - sounds like a good plan for today!

well, i had a very bad night. ds had me up twice and dd is still not feeling well and had me up 6-7 times - BUT dp got up with them at 6am and i got another hour
no plans here but i'll have to take the kids out - pushchair is finally fixed so can't have them stuck indoors for another day

Skribble · 01/10/2006 10:15

Morning all, Dh is away to work and kids playing playstation so I am resiegned to here.

I like the idea off "edging out the nest".

Asleep that is the best way to make hot chocolate isn't it . I worked at a kids activity centre and they made the mistake of letting me look after the tuck shop. Access to loads of variety of chocolate bars (we did pay)and a microwave is a bad idea. We tried all different kinds, inc caramac, wispa, cadburys caramel, yummy!!!

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES hope you have a nice day out and DP learns something .

Not to make you all jealous I got a lie in until 9.30. The joys of having school age kids that are old enough to be trained to get their own breakfast and amuse them selves. DD manages now that I leave her ceral and bowl on the worktop so she can reach it. DS is great, on school mornings he is fed and dressed before I even wake up.

mummyhill · 01/10/2006 10:27

Morning all

So much for a relaxed night!!! Settled down to eat take out and dd came downstairs crying cause she wet the bed. Sorted her out and changed her bed. Just finished eating when she announced that she had tummy ache. Next thing I know I have to run a bath and clean the living room floor as she projectile vomited over everything.

On a plus note DS slept through the whole thing and didn't get up till 7 this morning.

Will be having family fun day today.

However I have got 1 load in washer and 1 load in dryer, dishwasher going though as I type.

Still new to all this, less than a week in, but starting to feel the benefits. May not have a clean/tidy house but do have a plan!!
Managed a shiny sink every night apart from last night but did spend some time yesterday de-cluttering.

Tribpot - excellent news on DH. Mine actually noticed shiny sink on the first day, spent yesterday clearing out cupboards in one corner of living room (the whole room is a Hotspot ) and today is clearing out the cupboard under the stairs! Not sure if this is FLYlady inspired or the fact that the builders have gone and we now have a garage with loads of storage space in the roof! Whatever it is it is NOT normal behaviour

tribpot · 01/10/2006 11:03

Great news tessasmum. Same here - shiny sink is leading to untold benefits in terms of shiny DH behaviour! Got a bit stuck on my hotspot (as entire house is basically one enormous hotspot, but selected one at random to begin) in that ds fell over and since then (but unrelated to this) has had a dodgy tummy and generally been poorly

However, he's asleep now so will go forth and finish my hotspot. I also have to lay out tomorrow's clothes before I go to bed, seems feasible!

Skribble · 01/10/2006 11:16

tribot I felt like that about hotspots, the true hotspots are now emerging from under the clutter.

I wrote all the bad ones down in my note book and go through them in turn other wise I just avoid some. Hopefully over the weeks the list will get smaller. It is true clutter attracts clutter, so once places are clear I am hoping some won't attract more junk.

Mummyhill sounds like a crap night hope you have a nice day, I am still in PJ's, so shower and out for a picnic lunch perhaps, MIL's for dinner.

tribpot · 01/10/2006 11:20

That does seem to be happening in the kitchen Skribble. Much less incentive just to dump stuff all over the place when there are sparkly surfaces to be seen. My mum's visiting in a few weeks - perhaps I won't have to do an insane tidy-up before she arrives as usual!

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 01/10/2006 11:34

Don't forget to take before and after pics folks! Has anyone got any of their lounges yet?

I've started on the kitchen today for various reasons
a) got bored of lounge and can't face steaming the sofa
b) DH got his drill out and put up my new shelf unit and camp gingham window pelmets
c) Next week is the dining room and I don't have a separate one (that's DH's music room) so I might as well do the whole kitchen, not just the kitchen table.

BarefootJasnem · 01/10/2006 11:36

I've got a head start on next week.
DP got up at 8 and helped me move the sofa out of our dining room and in to sitting room, so I cleared and hoovered and moved the rest of the furniture. Only the bay window (BIG hotspot) to sort, then it's all done.

By 9.30 this morning, the home blessing was done.

DP has now taken the baby to the shops for me. I've no idea why he's being so helpful, this is not normal behaviour.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
I will do before and after pics tomorrow(when the window sill is done)

tortoise · 01/10/2006 12:20

Afternoon all.
Ive had a good morning.
Tidyed dd's and ds's bedrooms.Wasn't planned.Only did it because we have had no electric since the early hours! It came on at 12. Big fire in a straw barn just up the road.We can see it from the bedroom window.

Hope your DD is ok now mummyhill.
Sounds like everyone is doing great.

tinshoes · 01/10/2006 13:02

Hi All,

Just had scrummy Sunday lunch. After supermarket shop this morning I ordered 3/4 of my christmas presents from the Book People. I'm really pleased as I got presents for 13 people for about £70. Already have all of DDs stuff so a couple more people and DH are all that is left.

before anyone says i'm mad shopping now its cos i'm expecting baby 2 mid dec and i know i wont have time or energy for it then....

living room is a bit messy but only with toys which are easily picked up. looking forward to next weeks zone as i did quite a bit on it over the last couple of weeks. i think this is when i'll see the real benefit of flying....

hazelnuts · 01/10/2006 13:35

Afternoon all. Had a so so morning here in the nutty house. I have done all the hoovering so all the floors are clean. The lounge wont stay clear for long once DC have finished lunch. Toys etc will be out to trash the floor. I going to have a good go with all the dusting tomorrow as DS2 is at school all day I would like to paint the lounge, getting a bit tatty with finger marks and a few pen mark, but I want to more from here too, so I don't know what to do.

squatchette... The cookies were great, I have to say were as most of them are gone I woke up in the night and was hungry, DC did help eat them too before we got up My 3 are not to bad. DS1 (6) can be a bit of a hand full with his moods. DS2 (4) and DD (22.5 month)are there times when they don't want to know, crying or wanting things they cant have.
I can type for England too sometimes so don't worry about that. I am like tortoise though and have trouble reading when writing is in 1 big block. It would be great if you could put gaps in
tortoise.... we have had a few barn fires round here in the last month, (with a 5 mile radius ) They think someone is going round setting light to the barns.
I am liking the FLYing, Its get me to do the jobs I put off until another day, but that day never came. I don't wear shoes but I am planing more and routines are falling into place

squatchette · 01/10/2006 13:53

hi all
OCTOBER where did that come from just noticed!
Well it sounds like everyones doing more than me today.Very unmotivated living room full of toys as well as playroom they are so reluctant to play in

Sorry to hear of the bad night and sickness mummyhill.I really sympathise i woke after 8am lie in-to poo all over bedroom floor, am at end of my tether with dds bowel prob and still have her in nappies when she's ok she'll go to the toilet or use the potty but it's about 50/50 at moment.

She also poo'd in the bath when i nipped to the shop and DP was meant to be watching them .Youngest also dragged all my clean folded washing off worktop. Can't imagine what would happen if i ever left for a whole day, Shaz your description sounds spot on.

On plus side i did get to read one Sunday mag and dream longingly about having an interior like the ones they show.Very inspiring until i looked up and realised i was being a tad unrealistic.

P.S post pics hahahahahahaha sorry BOD i'm in an evil mood don't know how to do that yet anyway thank god can hardly bear the site of house myself today !Think i've burnt myself out this week am having rest today just decided

tortoise · 01/10/2006 14:03

squatchette Much easier to read that post.
You are allowed to have a day off,its sunday!
I have just had a quick tidy up of toys in front room.Need to hoover. Will do that in a few mins!!

HN Your having a good carpet FLY! Ive done the upstairs carpets now i have electric!!

hazelnuts · 01/10/2006 14:17

Thanks from me too squatchette. I found it much easier to read Your Poor DD, It must be hard on her too. lol at DH and all day! I am sure when xp1 had my DSs on saturdays, he just sat them in front of the tv and gave them loads of sweets, crisp and chocolate to eat all day.

I did have clean carpets everywhere tortoise, but the lounge is not overed with toys. DD has emptied all the toys tubs.

I am sticking to my meal plan and doing a roast for tea tonight. I forgot to get a chicken for it so we are going to have roast sausages instead

asleep · 01/10/2006 14:29

hi all

managed to do my big clean. bathroom, kitchen and living room are very clean. DD's bedroom is decluttered of toys she never plays with or is too old for. DP refused to put them in the loft as that's full up, so will give most to charity instead. just need to hoover up everywhere. need DP to hold DS as he hates the hoover and screams like crazy, bless him. DS not DP

DD and DP are still in the PJs. oh well. we're not going out today.

all my photos are still here . will update them this week, i promise!

asleep · 01/10/2006 14:31

LOL at the roast sausages!

tortoise · 01/10/2006 14:33

Ooooh forgot to add changed ds's beds!

Roast Sausages sounds like a great idea!!
Front room hooved and now Dr dd1 is telling me to be poorly so she can check me with ds1's dr kit!!!

hazelnuts · 01/10/2006 14:57

I could change our beds too. Then put them in the wash ready for tomorrow.

Yep roast sausages Just put sausages on top of the roasting spuds Then just like you would the spuds or meat, you braise them when cooking. Very very yummy

tinshoes · 01/10/2006 16:29

Hi all,

Just sorted through all baby toys so now have a pile to be washed and another to be stored. Also picked up everything off the floor in the hall and living room so place looking much better.

DD has gone to park with DH so I get to sit down now
