tr-Big YES! Little bit at a time.(says she who's been sat here for ages with baskets of clothes waiting to be put away!!)

trinityrhino · 07/09/2006 14:33

thanks guys, need to go and get dd1 now but will brandish my timer and black bag when I get back, I'll let you know how I do thanks again

BarefootJasnem · 07/09/2006 14:34

Sounds like a really good plan trinity. Definitely go for it.

I have no problem doing a load of washing a day ( I have been for a long time, but now I'm folding and putting away as well)
DP is a builder, and a clean freak, so he showers and changes at least twice a day, and all work clothes are washed after one day.DDs in school unoform, and baby in cloth nappies just adds to the joy.

I've mopped the floor and cleaned the cooker, and sorted/decluttered 1/2 a large store cupboard today.

Flamesparrow · 07/09/2006 14:40

Yes. You can do 10 mins (or even make it 15 to fit in with FLYing normally) on clothes.

I have washing backed up, and am doing about 2 loads a day, and am gradually getting on top of it. When we are up to date I am thinking a load a day will be too much, so I will do something else (read a book maybe ). I am washing/drying/putting away all in one day so can't do one bit a day. i don't iron.

samnbabes · 07/09/2006 14:41

Amanda P - fab idea. As I am v.v good at washing ... but v.v.less good at ironing/putting away ... hence piles of clean clothes currently: in spare room, outside our room (3 piles - me, dh & dd) and outside ds's room. Should keep me busy for 10 mins....

Flamesparrow · 07/09/2006 14:45

Trinity - any clothes too small, unless you absolutely can't survive without the money - give them away, don't horde them with plans to sell them. You are a touch too much like me, and it will never happen, you'll just end up with a houseful of clothes.

singersgirl · 07/09/2006 14:57

I pretty much always do a load a day anyway, what with school uniforms, bedding (two loads for duvet covers and sheets), towels, swimming and karate stuff.

Have sorted out vast piles of foreign and British currency and discovered $490 Singapore dollars (!!!!), hundreds of Malaysian ringgit (DH is going back there next week) and thousands of Hungarian florins (mind you, those aren't worth much), as well as 16 pounds in small change.

Have also done my plastic bags and 15 minutes filing and shredding in our office/spare room.

Chloe55 · 07/09/2006 15:27

Hiya - can I join? Am about to go clean my sink, using a toothbrush and hoping ds stays asleep whilst I do it!

trinityrhino · 07/09/2006 15:31

yes lots are too small but then dd1's will fit dd2 and then we have one on the way, don't know if it's blue or pink but if it's pink it seems ridiculous to throw it awaym I just need to stpre it properly

franch · 07/09/2006 15:32

Has anyone ordered a flylady calendar then?

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 07/09/2006 15:36

Welcome Chloe55.

Some have the organised mum calender(is that right??!!)

15 items now added to Ebay.
DD's distroying the place around me!

franch · 07/09/2006 15:48

Is that from the flylady site tortoise?

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 07/09/2006 15:50

No its from here

trinityrhino · 07/09/2006 15:58

ok, I put the oven timer on for 10 mins
I managed to get the suitcase out of the cupboard and sort through all the clothes in m,y drawers that weren't going to fit for a year or so and put them into the suitcase and then ppicke up all the washing and put it in the hall and folded the few remaining clothes anbd put them back, I put a load of washing on and now I'm eating pasta and pesto

BarefootJasnem · 07/09/2006 16:11

Wow, thats alot for 10 mins! well done you.

I've just got the organised mum weekly calendar. It runs from Sep to the end of next year, so I've started usin g it straight away. (Stuck in the stickers last night) I've taken a week out as a weekly rota of kids activities and aleaning jobs for me and stuck it on the fridge as I'm not using a control journal.

SKYTVADICT · 07/09/2006 16:15

I might get the calendar now then coz I thought it wouldn't start until January.

Totally off the cleaning thread - how do you chage your names? I've looked around on the site and can't seem to find anything.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 07/09/2006 16:18

Well doner tr.Gold star
Ive just been trying to count puzzle pieces to see if all there! Its a 1000 piece puzzle and i did it in sets of 100.Ended counting one set of 100 pieces 5 times and ive still ended with 11 pieces to many!! Will try again later i think!

BarefootJasnem · 07/09/2006 16:18

Click on "your registration" at the top, and do it there.
I had to change it when I posted the first time again but now it has stuck

SKYTVADICT · 07/09/2006 16:19

Thanks - will give it a go if I can think of a new name

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 07/09/2006 16:20

SKY you need to go to the your registration link at the top under useful stuff.
You log in there and change your talk name. You have to remember before it works you have to log out of mn in your old name and log in under your new name or it won't work! HTH

mummyhill · 07/09/2006 16:21

I like my calender with a column for each person so I can see at a glance what every one is up to and when.

SKYTVADICT · 07/09/2006 16:28

Is it the weekly planner one everyone has?

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 07/09/2006 16:56

i have the weekly planner and it's great! I write my shopping list on the little tear off bit as i remember stuff, then add what I need for my weekly menu then have a hassle free trip to tesco, and have saved £££ from not wandering the aisles aimlessly!

been out for lunch today but i did hoover the stairs this am and I hate that job

hazelnuts · 07/09/2006 17:25
