its a 9 in 1 steam mop and it is the most fun ive had cleaning in ages! my home is now hygienically steamed....no mean feat with dogs, cats, rats, kids....

its this one

its fab.
its got emulsion of window frames, the cupboard fronts were so easy it was a joy, the hob, the stainless steel splashback, the fridge, the floors, the tiles, the shower door.....all sparkling and done in seconds.

it was a cleaning revelation.
im now addicted to steaming stuff....including my thumb...which is dont recommend cos that hurts.

the reviews are not wrong on this one....
(morphy richards - commission please!)

I have ordered one. Accosted DH with the idea last night when he was tired and not really listening so he agreed to it. Eeeeek! I shouldn't be this excited - should I?

I bought this water softener too so I hope that works.

CorrieDale · 10/06/2014 16:06

Phew. Finished doing the basics downstairs. I'm impressed so far - all floors look clean as well as feel clean. Cupboard doors are lovely. The cloakroom has just about lost the smell of stale wee that comes with a dyspraxia boy, and the kitchen no longer has that faint but unpleasant odour that has bothered me for a week. Personally I think it was the dishwasher (slightly alarming really given its job!). Anyway I haven't done the oven or windows yet and will leave them until I've tackled upstairs. I'm knackered - it's effective but you can't clean lackadaisically with it if you want good results!

earlyriser · 10/06/2014 22:08

Anyone else find this really hard to push? I had to use both hands to get it across the laminate floors, my old Lakeland one glided much easier than this, made worse by the fact the handle is quite short for me so I had a sore back bending over and pushing it! Also, the cord is really short, I had to keep unplugging it, and one room I couldn't reach half of it. Really disappointed.

Water from the condenser dryer is suitable. I use mine for my steam iron.

has anyone gone for the variable steam one?

Paq · 11/06/2014 14:04

Araminta Grin

I think a DM sad face is required.

skyeskyeskye · 11/06/2014 14:19

why did I read this thread! have just ordered one... but from ebuyer not amazon, so could get cashback on it Grin.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 11/06/2014 15:01

I was hoping that I had found someone to agree with when I first saw Araminto's post. :)

It's actually okay. Nothing brilliant, but just okay. I find at times, that a sponge, a cloth and some detergent work just as well. Was okay on my double glazing front door but not that good on my double glazed back door. Needed some traditional elbow grease to get things really clean.

CorrieDale · 12/06/2014 07:23

It took me a good couple of hours to do three rooms yesterday. But those three rooms are gleaming. I am sure I couldn't have got them as clean in the time with any other method. Oven and fridge next. The cleaners will be gobsmacked when they come back next week - usually the house is pretty manky after they have a break!

I find it glides over the laminate but pushing it over vinyl or tiles takes some welly. The shower doors weren't wholly successful - the squeegee is hard to use. But shower gunk comes off so quickly it's like picking a scab!!!

The motor shop in the village sells deionised water so I'm pretty happy all round!

ShatnersBassoon · 12/06/2014 12:32

I got one on Tuesday, and I'm really impressed. My favourite jobs have been going around the nooks in the dishwasher and in the hinges on the toilet seat. Shamefully vile, but so satisfying Grin

FINALLY got a chance for a play. All windows downstairs are sparkling. Going to do the bathroom tonight (have deliberately allowed it to get very manky to add to the fun!) Really impressed with how easy it is to use.

skyeskyeskye · 12/06/2014 19:21

Mine arrived this morning and is sat in the box looking at me Grin.

it will probably still be there this time next week

any tips on window cleaning would be appreciated. also will it clean mould off of the bathroom ceiling?

JimmyCorkhill · 12/06/2014 20:33

There is a squeegee attachment for windows. You just hold down the steam button and pull the squeegee down the window. Then you wipe the manky browndrips off the bottom with a cloth. You need to dry the window with a cloth too. Very satisfying. All the finger prints and smears and snot trails (toddlers) have gone from ours.

NormaCore · 13/06/2014 21:16

Just had a go at the revolting kitchen sink. So far so good. Is it meant to be so noisy? Are you meant to hold the button down all the time?

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/06/2014 23:38

tonight i did floors, kitchen and the dreaded oven.....

fabulous results! im amazed! i used the little round brush attachment - i used a brillo pad, then the steam cleaner, then wiped with a damp dish cloth and polished with a microfibre cloth.
very little effort has brought it up sparkling! im really impressed with it.
the only thing is i did the microwave and its brought the coating off the inside.....
it is very powerful.

Someone asked earlier but I don't think it was answered - are the attachments sterile because of the steam? I have used the little brush on my bathroom tiles and want to use it in the kitchen. Will it be safe?

Indith · 14/06/2014 18:38
Envy still working on dh Envy
ThatVikRinA22 · 14/06/2014 19:01

i just rinse my attachments under a tap - i presume that any bacteria is killed once the steam gets going. i just rinse the grime off.

Thanks Vicar!

NormaCore · 15/06/2014 23:24

I do love it but am not sure how much to press the button. Is it meant to squeal really loudly like a pressure cooker that is about to explode?!

HarrySnotter · 16/06/2014 07:03

In bought one after reading this thread and I LOVE it! My cooker has all sorts of nooks and crannies where its impossible to keep it sparkling but it is now!

ThatVikRinA22 · 16/06/2014 14:32

norma - mine doesnt squeall i dont thing - make sure there is plenty of water in it and make sure its all clicked into place properly - i find sometimes the hand held bit doesnt always click in properly.

How do you get the oven gunk out of the brush head - dishwasher ?
