Thought I'd Shiny a new chat thread for us!

There's Brew and Biscuit, help yourselves!

Having a late lunch/indoor picnic and Toddler's still napping. He was so tired he was beside himself earlier and I couldn't wait any longer for lunch.

I've been printing pictures from zoo's recommended iChild site and having a blast. Have loads of other pictures/activities to print, too. However, I think we're about to run out of printer paper. I have it on my shopping list for tomorrow so have had to stop printing in case MrScout needs to print.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 15:09

Zoo hope your shopping went o.k. today and you didn't get too wet.

I've just realized that I didn't have lunch earlier either so we just ate some of the soup as a late lunch. It was quite yummy!

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 15:38

I am positive that soup is good for the soul Cats.

I have forgotten to eat lunch as well. My eating pattern has gone all wrong this week. I think I will have a cuppa soup as it is getting close to teatime now.

We have been on a wander around the village with the dogs to drop dd at her friend's for a play. We seem to have gathered one of ds's friends on the way home Smile

It has taken us an hour and half to do a 20 minute walk Shock

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 15:49

We have a rainy day now so will be staying home. DS is at a friends house (only a few doors away).

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 15:51

It is finally sunny here after having rained for what feels like weeks. It is not that warm but everyone is getting outside as they feel so deprived of daylight.

I need a boot to make me tidy the table, coffee table, stool, and my baking stuff up...

Any volunteers?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 15:54

I'll give you a "Boot" if you do the same for me when I'm having a CBA day. Wink

liveinazoo · 29/04/2012 16:27

we got thoroughly drowned going shopping,so much so we had to get a taxi backSadas little zoo cried the second we got out of morisons and the wind lashed the torrential rain straight back at us

we then had find somewhere to print pix mayos adventuresso will be able take camera back to nursery at least,/along with mayo>his scrapbook shall have stay an extra day

i havent got much else doneas i sat huddled to the fire shivering for an eternity

when i finally felt arm enough to retreat to the sofa kit scout took up residence on my lap, paws on chest, head resting on my shoulder

We had a break in the rain, even a ray of sunshine (!) for two minutes, so I got outside quickly and replanted the seedlings (homemade pots made from two liter drinks bottles, cut in half).

Toddler didn't want to go out and help -- instead he's been playing on MrScout's lap (reading stories and drawing pictures on his magnadoodle).

Carrots, when Toddler came down from his nap the first thing he said to me was "Mum! Weemeel!" [hands on forehead emoticon]

Grin at zoo's Scout-Kitty.

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 16:47

Aarrgghh! Scout! You will be dreaming of it and not in the same way as TS will be.

zoo shame about the taxi but the cuddle with the kits sounds like compensation. Some supermarkets run a free bus - have you looked around the notice boards or asked at customer services?

Thanks for the boot Cats. I will have my kicking foot limbered up and waiting for when you need one back Grin

I have decluttered and cleaned the stool, coffee table and kitchen table. I have also tidied up the kitchen worktops for the umpteenth time today and cleared the kitchen chairs of bits and bobs apart from my handbag.

The windowsill is hugely dusty but it feels A LOT better in here now.

Phew!

liveinazoo · 29/04/2012 17:40

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 17:43

I just lost a post and gave up. Shock

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 17:48

Has anyone seen THIS thread Shock

I must be having a mid life crisis!! Grin

liveinazoo · 29/04/2012 18:09

oh dear cats...
someones posted being more intrested in being comfortable than glam makes you middle aged that means ive been middle aged for a very long time

to me middle aged means wearing tweed, having dinner parties and collecting animals as babies.....

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 18:14

Does anyone want to volunteer starting a new "chat" thread soon?

This one has about 33 messages --rough guess-- left on it.

Also, are we starting a new "lists" thread for May?

liveinazoo · 29/04/2012 18:14

what do you think?Grin

liveinazoo · 29/04/2012 18:16

you do the lists cats

i would be happy to do the chat but i cant link this thread to itConfused

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 18:18

I DO NOT like that thread Shock

If collecting animals as substitute babies makes you middle aged then I was middle aged when I was about 9 Grin

I agree with zoo about the tweed. I think it also includes having "that" sort of make up on and HUGE hair (more than even a babyliss big hair can achieve)
and I AM NOT MIDDLE AGED

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 18:19
liveinazoo · 29/04/2012 18:22

have any those suggestions for ds snacks floated your boat carrots?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 18:23

O.K. I'll do the lists thread and links but if anyone wants to share the links I would be o.k. with that. I won't start anything today though as it is getting near bath and bedtime for the DC so I won't be on here much now till tomorrow. Smile

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 18:26

zoo ds is excited by the idea of carrot cake. Do you have a good recipe perchance?? Smile

liveinazoo · 29/04/2012 18:27

dd1 has just text me she is safely back at her dads and about to enter a hot bubble bath while he heats up a can of soup for her
