IChild site zoo mentioned - the reward charts look great!

DD2 has just woken & it's time to get DD1 up too - fx she's not done a wee! (first nap without a nappy!)

liveinazoo · 28/04/2012 14:46

thanks for the link bessieSmile

the kits are now free ranging in the front room and kitchen

today is their first proper attempt

scout cat is enjoying the pleasures of stealing my warm seat on the sofaGrin

dd2 has been a serious PITA today.thankfully a mum has just rang to ask if she can play...i offered her for keeps!!!ha ha

so its now quiet,as she has been on torment mode all day

liveinazoo · 28/04/2012 14:49

by the way carrots i am Envy sunshine.its been howling a gale down my road since the early hours of the morning and have had on and off rain lashing against the windows.the dcs are still in pjs

i am dressed as had put out some rubbish/cat tray offerings and the whipping wind required jeans and a warm jumper at the very least

i have had the fire/heating on most of the day its bloody freezing!

carrotsandcelery · 28/04/2012 14:51

The reward charts do look great from what i can see on my phone. I wish we had a printer. I might get dh to print one at work. We are just off to walk the dogs.

bessie26 · 28/04/2012 15:24

My ILs bought us a printer a couple of Xmas' ago. I never thought we'd use it, but it's bloddy brilliant for printing all the reward charts out for DD1!

Big fail for nappy free nap Sad I don't understand how, she did a wee 5mins before she went to bed & was only in bed for 45mins! Oh well, I'll try again next month (assuming she is still napping!)

liveinazoo · 28/04/2012 16:26

waking to pee is the hardest step

do you have waterproof base sheets?

we invested in some when kids went into big beds with rubber/plastic undersides and towelling on the other.been worth their weight in gold, especially with ds nosebleeds and little zoo having the bladder of an elephant so if she doesnt wake she we we wees all the way homeConfused

CatsSleepAnywhere · 28/04/2012 16:31

I've had my hair done.

Just off to read up ^ thread.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 28/04/2012 16:37

We have sunshine again today but they have forecast rain for tomorrow.

liveinazoo · 28/04/2012 16:52

hair looks lovely cats

has that perked you up being pampered and primped a bit?Smile

carrotsandcelery · 28/04/2012 16:53

Ooooh! It's nice Cats. Grin

Waterproof undersheets are brilliant at that stage. Dd took forever to be dry in her sleep. She was at least 5. Ds was dry at night when he was about 3 - more or less the same time as he potty trained.

Do you use cloth or disposable nappies bessie? We used to put them in pull-ups to sleep and when the pull-up was dry every morning we risked not putting one on. I am sure it would work the same with cloth nappies, but the dcs viewed the pull-ups as wearing pants rather than a nappy so mentally they felt like they were wearing pants and wanted to keep them dry. Does that make sense?

Another friend just put her dd to bed in pants for a while and mentally she felt she had to keep the pants dry so stayed dry in the night.

carrotsandcelery · 28/04/2012 16:57

We used to have a fab printer but it eventually died and none that we have bought since have lasted any length of time. I have given up for now.

We let Twilight off the lead for the first time out on a walk with us today. She was great. She is deaf so we had to watch her the whole time incase she wandered off but she only did it once and dh managed to dive through the undergrowth to stay near her.

Ds and I did a scavenger hunt in the woods while we walked them. We managed to find 7 different types of flowers!

liveinazoo · 28/04/2012 17:00

are you all in for the day yet carrots?

dd2 has been invited out to a friend so weve enjoyed the peace had a break from warfare

little zoo is finding it very hard to resist poking the kits awake though!

lentil soup in the oven worked out ok-just shoved lentils, stock and tin tomatoes in woth garlis and herbs for 2 1/2 hours.skimmed and scoffedSmile

was comforting as the weather here is horrid

am not looking forward to going shopping tomorrow in what is forcast to be torrential rain-30mins each way to morissons and we shall be worse than drowned rats!Sad

CatsSleepAnywhere · 28/04/2012 17:04

Zoo I'm glad I booked it cause we were in town just before I went & had it done and DD threw a massive strop in a shop just cause she wanted to go in a different que Hmm. My haircut was a good escape as DH took the DC home. Wink

carrotsandcelery · 28/04/2012 17:18

Dd has just been dropped off, covered in mud but happy so that is us all in for the night now.

My Tesco washing powder arrived today to sample so it will be put to the test as ds has covered one t shirt in ketchup, another in mud and his jeans in mud. My jeans are also muddy and dd's jods and top are filthy too. If it can deal with that lot on a first wash then I will be impressed Shock

Twilight was so dirty we had to give her a quick bath. I am suspicious that she goes puddle jumping every time she fancies a bath. Dh has never been there when we have bathed her so he enjoyed helping to pamper her as he has a massive soft spot for her.

We were going to go out for tea but I am not feeling too good. My breathing tubes Hmm feel all burny and I have an ache between my shoulder blades. I don't fancy sitting at table for ages in a restaurant. I seem better if I can move about frequently.

Cats I know your dh is good at taking ds off to do stuff with him but maybe sometimes he could take dd so that you can do stuff stress free. They are exhausting at that stage however much you love them. A bit of peaceful pampering sounds like a perfect escape! Grin

carrotsandcelery · 28/04/2012 17:20

zoo I am glad the soup was ok. At least you are warm and nourished, if not experiencing culinary masterpieces.

Would dh sit with the dcs while you did the shop tomorrow or is he at work?

Has dd1 texted to say how she is getting on on her hike?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 28/04/2012 17:24

I like soup!

I could go shopping alone tomorrow, it is sometimes very stressful with the kids and they always want to put extras in the trolley.

bessie26 · 28/04/2012 17:29

Oooh nice hair cats! Grin

Both the DDs have mattresses where the top cover zips off & you can bung in the machine, so no problems there!

DD1 has been wearing pull ups at nap time since we started potty training (last aug/sept) but she has told me before that she likes doing a wee in her nappy, so I think she is doing it when she is awake. She was a bit teary when I went in today, and told me she had needed a wee when she was in bed (I had told her to shout if she needed one)

Oh well, I was hoping that getting her to shout when she needed a wee would be good practice for at night & i as i think she's going to drop her nap soon, i thought i'd better give it a go sooner rather than later!

TBH she sleeps SO soundly, I think it will be a long, long time before she is dry at night!!

carrotsandcelery · 28/04/2012 18:22

I wouldn't put yourself through the horror of forcing it bessie. I would just wait until the pull up is always dry.

bessie26 · 28/04/2012 18:24

Don't worry carrots I won't be trying again!

Scout19075 · 28/04/2012 18:47

Ooohhh, carrots, your Tesco stuff arrived today? I bet THAT'S what my mystery package waiting at the post office is (I just missed the delivery this morning).

We have a printer/copier and a color laser. Blush Not sure why we have two other than MrScout collects computers (monitors, desk tops, laptops, etc) the way some people collect baseball cards.

Lovely afternoon out with my boys, even though the weather isn't splendid. MrScout is a big softy when it comes to Toddler. Grin And Toddler surprised me with new phrases and abilities/confidence.

I have just put a wash on. Did you all ask for washing powder or has anyone gone for antibac spray?

It smells soapy and fresh. I have put in the exact quantity it says for heavy soil in a soft water area as our clothes were really muddy. I am interested to see if it leaves white streaks and if the washing comes out clean. [saddo]

Dh sent dd to bed at about 6.30 tonight for shouting at me. Sad She was tired and spoiling for a row. I am really Sad as I hadn't really seen her all day and she has been invited out tomorrow.

Scout19075 · 28/04/2012 19:52

I went for the antibac spray.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 28/04/2012 20:03

I have showered and changed into pj's ready for chilling out --when the DC are settled--

Scout19075 · 28/04/2012 20:29

Found a great new to me toyshop today and think I have found a funky, unique birthday present for the soon-to-be one-year old in my life.
