Shock We might.!

Especially if we just have a "chatty day" Grin

bessie26 · 29/04/2012 08:41

[proud]

Scout19075 · 29/04/2012 08:55

I think if I hear the word "windmill" one more time today I might just go "poof" myself. ARGH!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 09:32

What happened bessie?

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 10:06

Too many questions!

Why is the unmentionable word troubling you Scout?

I like the sounds of baking today zoo. I have a craving for a plain Victoria Sponge. I need to make something healthier for ds for snacks this week though. Any inspiration out there?

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 10:18

zoo the Kate Rusby cd that I have been listening to this week is called "Underneath The Stars" and I like it. I have to admit we have never bought a bad one.

She is great live. She is very relaxed and chats away to the audience and teases her dp as he accompanies her. She tours with her dmum and her little baby. She calls her dmum a babyroadie! Grin

carrots, How about Ants on a Log?

Because Toddler keeps saying it. Over and over and over. He likes windmills. At the toyshop yesterday he spied one of these and kept going back to it, taking the box off the shelf (and, to be fair, putting it back), stroking the box. He gave it to MrScout who said "Would you like the windmill, Todder?" Toddler looked very solemn as he nodded and said (very politely, I might add), "Yes pease Daddy." MrScout bought it and all the way home Toddler sat in his car seat stroking the box, reading the letters on the box and shouting "Weemeel, weemeel!" We took it out of the box, "Weemeel, weemeel!" He took it to bed. He brought it into our bed this morning. All morning "weemeel, weemeel, weemeel!"

The windmill has be screwed onto the track plate and we didn't do it yet so Toddler's just been carrying around the windmill (not the flour thing and plate). All night. All this morning. ARGH! I'm happy that he's so happy with his new toy -- he rarely ever "asks" for toys and will usually put things back on the shelf after investigating and go on to something else, but he kept going back to this windmill piece and carrying it around the shop. We so rarely buy him a toy "off the cuff" like that and Toddler's just been so happy. But all morning (since 6:15) "weemeel!"

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 11:00

Awwww! That is cute Scout from this distance Smile

What are Ants on a Log? Hmm

Do vegetarians eat them?Grin

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 11:01

I googled ants on a log Yum!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 12:05

I am back, we have done the shopping.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 12:14

Just having a Brew now.

bessie26 · 29/04/2012 12:43

I was [proud] that zoos DD1 had requested my ginger soup!

I have just wrapped a mini egg. DD1 requested it as a reward for when she does a wee on the toilet (later today apparently)

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 13:32

She clearly has plans bessie.

I forgot to say ds slept all night (as far as we know) in his room with no light or cd player. Yay! He was quite proud of himself and described just letting himself drift off. Smile

I found a recipe for barbecued apple with ginger yogurt today bessie and thought of you.

I have made flapjacks ready for ds's snacks this week. We have all tested them just incase and deemed them acceptable Grin

bessie26 · 29/04/2012 13:41
bessie26 · 29/04/2012 13:43

And well done to minicarrots! He should be VERY pleased with himself! You should go to bed early tonight carrots and get a good long sleep yourself!

carrotsandcelery · 29/04/2012 13:48

I am hoping to make that the big change I make doing the babysteps this time bessie. I stay up way too late savouring the peace and quiet. Hopefully if I went to bed earlier I would savour the chaos a bit more too!

From what I could see the apples were brushed with honey and grilled and then grated ginger was added to natural yogurt. The apples were then dipped in the yogurt. It sounds lovely and although it was a bbq recipe I thought it would be easy to do on the grill and have as a more interesting dessert one night.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 29/04/2012 14:26

Hi all,

Well done! to carrots DS Grin

I have been chopping veg to make a soup. Leeks, potato and onions. Not quite sure how it will turn out but I was roughly following the J O leek and potato recipe. I best go and check on it. It's not the right time of day really but never mind Hmm
