It's the same as babysteps. One step at a time. You will be limited to 10 items a month to begin with I think. Come over to the support thread there as there are people there who know more than me.

Scout19075 · 06/01/2012 23:07

It still looks scary. Blush LOL

bessie26 · 07/01/2012 07:13

Morning! Babystep 7 - I often do this for the DC too!

liveinazoo · 07/01/2012 08:38

bessieso glad im not the only one awake early at weekends.
with all my kids up and running before 6 ive been busy
so far;
15mins decluttering living room corner
2nd load going round in WM
1st load on airers and whats on rads been turned x2
15mins ironing
we are all fed and dressed
cleaned bath and sink in bathroom

my only concern is the amouint stuff filling the bin and its not due to be emptied til a week on monday and i dont driveHmm
plus what do you do with the recycling?
i put plastics/tins outside in the designated crate but as we dont have lids on them i dont put papers out as have nowhere undercover outside to \put it and we also live in an area prone to be very windy and would fly all over the place.as i type have 5 carrier bags papers cluttering up the kitchenHmmsuggestions anyone?

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 09:21

Morning all, .

I didn't get enough sleep last night so not sure how much work I will get done today.

Livein Youv'e just reminded me, I really need to do some laundry today, just seem to have been too busy to fit it in all week.
I store my newspapers under the stairs until we take them for recycling.
My whole understairs cupboard needs a good clear out as it is cluttered up with cardboard boxes from Christmas presents.

I need to get dressed too!

Eggrules · 07/01/2012 09:23

Good morning. Turns out I was doing bs7 for DS and I all along (polishes halo).
Clean dishes are still in the DW with dirty ones on top.

I have Ikea boxes in the conservatory to sort recycling. LA is sending a new wheely bin for ALL recycling and so it won't need to be sorted beyond recycling, non recycling and food waste. At this point I will not have bins inside and vow to put rubbish in straight into outside bins. Ahem, I may need to utilise carrier bags during the day. I was able to get extra boxes from the Council - would this help?

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 09:41

Here's what I would like to try to do:

Get dressed
make bed
look at Fly website
put out hot spot
wash up / tidy kitchen
"What's for dinner?"
Laundry
family time
shine sink
lay out clothes before bed

For the new Flyers: today is really supposed to be a more layed back day for family time but I am behind with everything, hence my long list! Wink

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 10:52

have done:
get everyone dressed
made bed
shined sink
and done 10 mins washing up.

Scout19075 · 07/01/2012 11:09

I do a weekend "to do" list. It's a list of things I'd like to get done over the weekend but don't tie it down with days. Well, except washing up -- then I put "Sat" and "Sun" in the margin so I can tick off when I've done it for the day.

So far today I have done nothing except feed Toddler. We're having a very lazy start to our weekend. He missed his Daddy this week (he doesn't normally get to see MrScout during the week due to the stupid hours MrScout works) and has been enjoying playing with him.

Eggrules · 07/01/2012 11:13

I have cleared kitchen work surfaces and shined the sink. Dishes in the same condition.

I have had coffee and breakfast and have dressed, done hair and put make up on. I feel tonnes better. Normally I take DS out on Saturday afternoon. Today I am off out in Birmingham for lunch with my lovely friends. My plan is to get sorted so the weekends are free of major jobs.

Have a good day all.

carrotsandcelery · 07/01/2012 11:14

Morning all!

I love this babystep. (thanks for the link bessie) It makes such a difference, not so much at weekends, but on a school day. If I have packed lunches and all ds's extra snacks sorted out before bed it speeds us up more than you would think.

So far I have:
Read my book in the bath for way too long Grin
Washed and dressed - no shoes yet though.
Got dcs to get dressed.
Made sure all are fed.
Put breakfast dishes into dishwasher (wasn't full enough last night to put on)
Emptied washing machine and hung washing (had evening wash of patchwork quilt from dd's bed as dog got it dirty)
Drunk half my second Brew

To do:
Fold and sort laundry from airer which is dry.
Iron relevant laundry
2 x 2min hot spots as didn't do one yesterday
Get dh to get Christmas tree boxes down from loft and put them in and up.
Kitchen worktops
Shine sink
Take ds into the BIG CITY as he has a game voucher which is burning a hole in his pocket (I had hoped to keep it until half term)
Find camera cable so I can upload ebay photos.

It is quite a list for a Saturday but most of it is very quick.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 11:15

Hi Scout, I'm just having a teaBrew break before I go and do some more.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 11:16

Hi all, X posts!

carrotsandcelery · 07/01/2012 11:22

Morning BlackCat

redlac · 07/01/2012 11:30

Morning all!
I didn't shine my sink yesterday and was so disappointed to come down this morning to find dishes in my sink! Lesson learnt :)

My lazy day was yesterday so this weekend I will get back into it :)
breakfast made and dishes done
first washing load done and hung
Hoover living room
set up the kinect we've got a loan off
wrap present for DDs classmates party today
Take dd to party
Enjoy 2 hours peace & quiet!

Have a good day everyone

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 13:11

liveinazoo · 07/01/2012 13:13

did another load washing and washed living room and kitchen floors.now settling down to watch scooby doo dvd with the kids(I fancied going out for a walk but its clouded over and they dont want toSad)

not intending to do much else but play, cook tea and wash up/shine sink
have a good day

bessie26 · 07/01/2012 13:19

We have drawers like this in our utility room, 2 for stuff that can go into the blue (recycling) bin, 1 for floppy plastic & another for tetra pacs (both can be recycled at the tip)

It's lovely & sunny here so the girls & I popped out into the garden before lunch to look at the bulbs coming up (I have 2 snowdrops!) and I noticed lots of weeds, so I might spend this afternoons nap time outside Grin

bessie26 · 07/01/2012 15:32

did an hour in the garden & filled the brown bin! The bit of the garden you can see from the window looks much better now, the rest of it will have to wait for another day!

carrotsandcelery · 07/01/2012 16:33

I can't believe snowdrops are coming up already. That is about a month early is it not?

I have been shopping with the dcs. It is really entertaining now that they have their own pocket money and have Christmas money to spend etc. Ds spent ages (and I mean AGES) in Game choosing a game with his token. He was trying to persuade me to let him buy a 12 certificate game (he is 7) and the shop assistant said it wasn't all that bad really. He was a lovely shop assistant but I was still Hmm so I will put it to the Mumsnet jury later on. (Plants vs Zombies for the ds).

I came home to dh doing the ironing which made me Smile. Flying really does rub off. He had put the dishwasher on too.

I still have a lot to do but I am having a Brew and a slice (or it might require 2) of Christmas cake and a little relax after all the excitement.

carrotsandcelery · 07/01/2012 16:34

BlackCat What are you having for dinner?

carrotsandcelery · 07/01/2012 16:36

bessie that is the sort of drawer unit we use for toy storage. (Amongst other things)

Another option I have seen is people designating a cupboard in the kitchen to the recycling boxes. It would depend on the size of your kitchen though. My parents have an integral garage so they put it all in there.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 17:24

Carrots we were going to make potato and leek soup but I'm so tired now (After not enough sleep last night) we have settled for hot dogs.

I did attempt to make a chocolate tart page 344 in Jamie's ministry book but it has gone a bit wrong! It is in the fridge while we wait for it to set.Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 07/01/2012 17:30

I haven't tried any desserts from Jamie's book so let me know if it tastes good.

I am shattered too. I am struggling to get going and make some tea for everyone.

Eggrules · 07/01/2012 17:59

Had a fab afternoon. Came in to a very clean kitchen and DH sorting dinner. All good here and we are chilling out with Scooby. I will do laundry and 15 mins in hall tomorrow.

Off to order shopping online. I have been adding bits here and there so it should be easy.
