I think I forgot to mention it, carrots. Xmas Blush

Eggrules · 04/01/2012 22:50

ah but no draining board and also we only have one family bathroom.

I already shine sink, mini sink thingy and massive draining board.

bessie26 · 04/01/2012 22:53

carrots 1lb? OMG! DD1 was 6.5weeks early, she was 5lb 2oz though, so felt like a bit of a fraud in SCBU with such a "big" baby. DD2 was 8lb 12oz when she came out, so I obviously just grow big babies! I can't think why?

I have recorded OBEM so DH can watch it with me another night

egg so where would you put your clean washing up to drain? in the second sink?

Eggrules · 04/01/2012 23:18

I was 4lb9oz (twin) DS was 12 days over and a 9lbder geesh.

I wash dishes in the DW cos my sink is way too shiny to get dirty. I may get a taxi like sign 'If you soil this sink there will be a £5 fine'. I may relax enough to drain dishes in what I am whimsically calling my vegetable washing sink.

Love G&B, even cherry.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 05/01/2012 07:03

Morning all, the weather here is still very windy and rainy (horrible).

Today I need to do:

Breakfast
get dressed
DS to school
wash up
Shine sinks
decluttering?
laundry
and hoover

Will have to go now as DD has just woke up.

bessie26 · 05/01/2012 07:27

babystep day 5 the list is now:

Getting Dressed to shoes
Shine sink shining
Look at the fly lady website
Looking at our reminders (wherever we keep them)

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 05/01/2012 09:06

Time for a brew Brew

Scout19075 · 05/01/2012 09:19

It's very windy here, too.

So today was bin day (normally Wednesday but with the bank holiday...). I have a lovely 3/4 full bin bag in my kitchen. Do you think MrScout took it out this morning on his way to work? No. Do you think I was up before the binmen and saw the bag sitting there? No. Am I slightly miffed? Yes.

Grumble, grumble.

I'm seeing parts of my eat-in kitchen I haven't seen in a while. Grin The advantage, I guess, of not having a proper dining room for this zone is my all-in-one gets twice the love!

Not realizing Thursday is "errands day" I was already planning on doing a bit of farther-afield shopping today only because Thursday is the one day of the week where there are no toddler groups, no activities, no meeting up with friends that we usually have. However, it's so cold and windy I don't really fancy it but at the same time I really do want to go to the craft store for a portifolio and felt for puppets....

am i getting this right that we are meant to be starting to list what we meant to be doing?

BoffinMum · 05/01/2012 10:15

I would be afraid about outing her, tbh, and for young people the job climate is so precarious I am keen for her to hang in there as long as possible (she is doing really well at the moment).

I am about to dive into a large pile of overdue ironing now. May the force be with me.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 05/01/2012 10:15

Well done to the new flyers! Smile You are all busy this morning.

So far I have done:
breakfast
get dressed
DS to school
Looked at FlyLady website
and some washing up.

Just having a little break now.

bessie26 · 05/01/2012 10:17

Passes live a Brew and Biscuit All your list needs to have on it for now is:

  • Getting Dressed to shoes
  • Shine sink shining
  • Look at the fly lady website
  • Looking at our reminders

egg where are you getting your plastic boxes from? I want some clear ones with lids for my toy sort out & wondered if you knew a good place to get them from?

I've been very productive so far today

  • put a carrier bag in the car when I took DD1 to pre-school & filled it with all the rubbish
  • washing machine on
  • washing up done
  • discovered that my beloved vinegar spray is brilliant at getting the fingerprints off my high gloss cupboards, so I now have very clean cupboard fronts!
  • noticed the oven front looked smeary compared to the cupboards, so had to clean that too
  • and then the fridge (yes, we installed a very glossy kitchen before we had DC)
  • looked at my list
  • checked what I need to make for lunch & tea
  • made a Brew

next I need to

  • finish drinking brew
  • prep lunch
  • sort the mountain of clean laundry

and later I want to

  • get out for a walk with DD2 (it's lovely & sunny here!)
  • start tackling the toy mountain
carrotsandcelery · 05/01/2012 10:38

Well it was lovely and sunny here a minute ago and now it is windy and snowing Hmm

I have:

  • dressed but no shoes as we are going out and I want to wear my fancy new knee high boots (and it is inconceivable that I change my shoes later).
  • put a wash on.
  • folded the last things from yesterday's wash that hadn't dried.
  • swished and swiped the ensuite bathroom
  • discovered that dh had emptied the dishwasher so only had to reload it with breakfast dishes.
  • taken down Christmas tree in kitchen Sad

To do:

  • work on backlog of ironing.
  • hang washing when it is finished.
  • clean worktops
  • get dcs to tidy up kitchen a bit
  • iron anything on airer which is dry tonight
  • check lists
  • shine sink
liveinazoo · 05/01/2012 10:44

will someone poke me with a stick please?im struggling to get going today esp as dd3 at home super snotting and coughing so havent got my usual 2hr kid free cleaning.ive sat on MN for past hr reading posts when i really need to get off my arse and do something productive

Scout19075 · 05/01/2012 10:47

I've done:
breakfasted Toddler
checked my list
checked my emails (sent lots of Guiding once late last night in anticipation of morning responses)
15 minutes declutter -- kitchen
15 Fling Things -- kitchen
10 minutes declutter -- entry way
15 Fling Things -- entry way
played with Toddler (threading beads and fishing game -- both new and so still very exciting)
let Toddler email his daddy (this takes longer than you might think)

Still need to do:
dress (both Toddler and myself)
take out recycling
load car of donations
5 minutes declutter entry way (need to finish my 15 minutes as I got sidetracked by a stinky bum)
sort out the slow cooker for dinner tonight (chop the veggies, chuck everything in, etc)
wash dishes (MrScout's from last night and Toddler's from today)
figure out what Toddler and I are doing for lunch and if we're going to Ye Ol' University Town for shopping (want to but his nose is streaming technocolor again like it was all of Christmas week so wondering if we need a quiet home day)

I'm tired.

YAY for everyone doing well this morning!

bessie26 · 05/01/2012 10:48

live what it the most important thing you need to do? Set a timer for 15min & go do it! and then report back

Lunch all prepped, off to sort the laundry, reckon I've got 10-15min before DD2 wakes, so she can be my timer!

Scout19075 · 05/01/2012 10:49

Oh, forgot that I need to check yesterday's shirts and do a bit of ironing if they're dry enough to it. Blurgh, I hate ironing.

bessie26 · 05/01/2012 10:53

carrots did you say snowing???

liveinazoo · 05/01/2012 10:54

bessiethanks.i will go and attack the cupboard under the stairs for 15mins.more if i can take it.if im not back within the hour send a st bernard with a bag chocolate(i dont drinkGrin)

redlac · 05/01/2012 10:58

scout do you hang the shirts on hangers when you dry them - I done this for the first time this week and I didn't have to iron them!!!

Scout19075 · 05/01/2012 11:05

redlac Yes, and normally I don't have to iron them, either, but because I had to take them up to the laundermat yesterday they're wrinkly from being chucked in a bag for transport (toddler with me + rain = bin bag for laundry or they're be troubles).

Can't find the slow cooker recipe I was going to use but found a new one to try with ingredients I have on hand.

BoffinMum · 05/01/2012 11:09

Right, done ironing and put everything away, sorted out washing for when the machine becomes free, changed sheets on bed, considering whether to tackle taking down Xmas decorations.

redlac · 05/01/2012 11:10

Oh that's right your washer dryer has gone on strike - is it fixable?
