Hi all - am feeling a bit down today, PIL here, brought DS1 back, which is lovely to see him again :) But one of MIL's first comments was to tell me how well her other grandson is doing at school, had some tests (out in Oz) and got 99% in them all. Oh great, you know that's what I needed to hear, what with DS2 in SN school & DS1 doing so badly at school so far.
I mean, WHY tell me??? grr.

Think i'm generally on a downer, so ignore me!

so sorry to hear you are feeling down JKS, some people do not engage brain. Mothering is hard enough without doing comparisons. Lets value ourselves differently, I say, not just by achievement. sending hug and chocolate.

JKS it's hard isn't it, you don't want people to feel like they can't tell you about other childrens achievements but at the same time there are tactful and less boasty ways of doing it. Just remember your dses have many other qualities and academics aren't everything.

Disappointment this morning, got chatted up in the pub last night, nice bloke, attractive, had good conversation, walked me home but didn't try anything just a peck on the cheek and said we should meet for coffee...thought maybe he had potential to see again. But this morning he had requested me on facebook and when I looked at his page he had one of those bloody stupid ignorant immigration statuses on there.

Hello everyone! Back from holidays. Pembrokeshire was ok, but knackering. I have told DH that I will only go to hotels now until the boys are both bigger and a bit more self-sufficient. It was a centreparcs kind of place, and left a lot to be desired - especially the mega uncomfortable bed We had a lovely weekend at my parents on the way home, they babysat while we went out for our anniversary to a michelin starred restaurant near to them. It was amazing

DS2 was awake half the night, who knows what was the matter with him. So I'm shattered today and have only managed a bit of unpacking and a couple of loads of washing. Got loads to sort out, house is a tip. Bleugh.

Uncomfortable bed not good ali. Pembrokeshire is beautiful though isn't it? And glad the weekend at your parents was good.

Basics again today, never really achieve more when dcs off!

It is beautiful, and I am SO glad we are not there this week because they've had awful weather.

I am just about managing the basics here too. DS2 is a nap refusnik, except when I march him around in the buggy - which isn't so easy when I've got to take DS1 with me rather than him being at preschool.
I have still got one case left to unpack from holiday Although all the washing is done and sitting in clean, folded piles around the house

Ciao Ladies. Just back from a very long weekend away. Was only supposed to be 3 days, but PIL's took pity on me and DC so we stayed until today!!! Which was great as FIL is the most fantastic cook and we went to the beach A LOT (we didn't have the crappy wet weather, we were about as far East as you can go and it was absolutely gorgeous!).

So, we are half way through half term. I have 10 boys coming for tea tomorrow (what have I done ) so just praying that we can spend at least the first hour outside playing football etc....

Came out of shower to the smell of poo...DS2 has poo on hands, toys, books, carpet....
Get him changed though he really could have done with a bath right then. But he's anti-baths right now so did my best with wipes.

Persuaded him to play in some bubbly water in the kitchen sink so think his hands are properly clean now, phew. But now his t-shirt is wet and he hates having any clothes changed so refusing to let me get him a dry one.

God he's hard work :(
