Hello, have mental list (ha ha Hmm). Some of it is done. I think. Who knows.

Anyway. Just dropped in briefly to PIL's. Only there around 15 minutes and I WAS SO COLD. FIL won't put the heating on, only if they have people coming round (and he didn't know I was coming today and i wasn't stopping anyway) and it's barely 5 degrees today. Baltic it was. And they had their washing all hung up, like it's ever going to dry!??!!?!?!?!? Brrrrrr. DH says he's too tight to put it on! I never believed it before but having been there today, one of the coldest days of the winter so far? I think he is right!

Aki - hope DS feeling better soon

JKS - how is the foot?

OP posts:
anonymousbird · 28/11/2011 16:38

I am quite tight with the heating, especially during the day when it's just me but their place was unbelievable!!! Brrrrr. MIL moans about it, and often sneaks it on!

"strained xmas vodka" sounds fun. What goes in there?!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 28/11/2011 18:43

Can't find my link but it was hairy bikers xmas pud vodka. Basically vodka, mixed fruit, cinnamon, mixed spice, sugar etc. Is very yum actually

I always try TKMaxx first for dresses - then head into Debenhams if that fails.

Foot is ok thanks, big bruise & not just on the toe but on the bit of the foot before the toes IYKWIM? But probably not broken, at least not badly so think I got away with it - sure it'll cause me probs when I'm old & I'll have forgotten why it aches when rain is due, or something, lol.

JKS - why are the DCs always poorly on the days you want to do something? What a pain!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 30/11/2011 10:51

Ali dd was reading over my shoulder on the what do you wear for xmas thread and read your post and said "why can't weeee dooooo that? they dooooo on telllllllyyyyy" So looks like we might be dressing up posh! What sort of dress do you wear? Like a party dress? I only have summer ones and my parent's house is freezing!

DD's school striking so she's off but ds is still at preschool. Was going to do a few things with her like go and get her to choose a little present from her for ds' birthday and start sorting out xmas stuff but friend asked if I could have her dd so they have just been playing instead. Haven't had much just girl time recently and am amused by how they first chose to do colouring in and are now playing with the dolls house. And at how much quieter it is than when I look after boys! Fitting the stereotypes much??

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe80nappies · 30/11/2011 10:57

Freak Grin Sorry!

I don't wear an evening dress, that is too OTT for me although the friends we always visit for drinks go the whole hog and wear LBDs etc.

Always something with sleeves - my parents house is also cold - the last couple of years I wore something Boden, not sure yet this year but I like to get something in a nice strong colour. Wool often for cosiness, with an M&S thermal camisole underneath if it is really freezy!

I am not making much progress. DS2 is having a nap and I've been sat on the sofa watching 'Homes under the Hammer' and scoffing crumpets Blush

JKSLtd · 30/11/2011 11:41

Freak - loving the stereotype behaviour - i'm holding out for girly quietness in the future!

We don't dress up for Christmas, maybe we should but not sure I cba, sorry!

Not getting much done here, DD has gone to bed, I've sent my apologies for the lunch & opened post - ebay parcels, yey.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 30/11/2011 12:11

JKS - hope DD is feeling better soon.
I'm not sure if we would dress up for Christmas here, but my parents always have because we used to go with Dad to do his ward round on Christmas morning. Now we always go to some family friends for a drinks party where they all dress up.
Mind you, 3 years ago I had flu and mastitis all at once and spent Christmas Day shivering in 7 layers of cardigans in front of a blazing fire while DH drove for miles to get me some antibiotics. That was fun, not!

Looks like I am destined for a life of continual chaos then with my two! Grin Hmm

Faff about getting T to go to sleep
Tidy/make beds etc

Freak - no I didn't spot the rogue apostrophe either Grin

Anon - oh bless him!

JKS - did you buy a fabric one or make one? I keep thinking I want to get either a fabric one with pockets, or one of those lovely wooden house ones but I baulk at the cost every year.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 30/11/2011 16:18

I don't notice in other posts but when I read my own back I do!

Friends dd now gone, she offered to pay me but although I am v broke and it was tempting I had to say no because I have done actually nothing, they've just played really nicely (and quietly!) all day.

OP posts:
FreakoidOrganisoid · 30/11/2011 16:21

Ali I've seen a wooden train one that I love but can't bring myself to pay that much money! We do have a fabric one though, and 4 or 5 years ago my gran got me a m&s tree shaped one with little drawers, it's only cardboard but has lasted.
