A warm welcome to the June Fledgling Flyers' thread.

If the state of your house is getting you down, this is the thread where we follow the step-by-step Flylady housekeeping system (in our own, unique, relaxed style Wink) with lots of chat and support along the way and where lace-up shoes are definitely optional.

A huge thank you to Linzer for keeping us all on track so splendidly during May and thank you to DroitwichMummy for the thread title.

As usual, we will be following the Flylady three-pronged approach:

  1. Baby-steps (a daily step to establish routines)
  2. Then baby-steps + 15 mins daily decluttering
  3. (And once decluttered) babysteps + daily missions

If you are feeling overwhelmed by clutter and mess, you can make a difference, one step at a time.

For more information, have a look here. You don't need to sign up to Flylady e-mails (we advise you not to do so in fact - you will be overwhelmed - all the information you need can be gleaned from this thread).

All long-standing members, intermittent returnees, lurkers and newcomers welcome!!

ladyinpink it's a leather sofa Grin . I could try it with my non leather one though Hmm . I wish someone would give me a facial/massage/a similar such indulgence as a gift - I just seem to get socks and such like.

I slammed it shut in the car door. Sad

swanriver · 30/06/2011 20:22

oh poor Nicknacks

I've had a lovely day really, playdate went exceedingly well, and sons seemed happy too, but the house has taken at least twenty steps backwards, and husband not best pleased - he has gone to bed with a headache
and Ds1 suffering from not being taken OUT for serious exercise

Ds2 has built an incredible lego space shuttle and done his piano practice - small mercies

Swan - your post at 12.37 was hugely entertaining and made me feel much better about my own state of mind and house today. I particularly enjoyed the image of 'The Warden' propping up your son's Scaletrix Grin.

Nicknacks - that sounds really, really painful! I bet it hurts like hell. I hope you have some very strong painkillers.

Must go to bed at a decent hour tonight as I'm taking DS1 to a private educational psychologist first thing tomorrow for an updated dyslexia assessment. He stormed out of the room when I reminded him Sad. He still remembers going aged six and can even repeat what the psychologist said to him, word for word Shock. I haven't dared tell him that when we get back the Education Outreach Worker is coming round to discuss DS1 going back to school.

Not very productive today. DS2 had a friend round this morning, but after that we just pottered about at home and I felt guilty for not being more involved with both boys (I understand that guilt about not going OUT, Swan). Am too preoccupied to play with either of them at present.

However, I did manage to do some ironing and cook dinners (all different) for everyone.

See you all on the new thread tomorrow.
